Her lips were tender and sweet like cherries. The moment she touched his lips, Karlos heart suddenly raced like crazy. It was probably the first time she was kissing him but it felt like they had kissed several times before. But why did he suddenly feel this way?
Everything had happened fast but not too fast for Karlos not to react.
Just as Berlin stepped back away from him, he leaned forward as well and snaked his arm around her waist, pulling her back, closer to his body.
Berlin who had least expected things to turn out that way was shocked beyond measure at what just happened.
He made her look into his eyes, and she felt a surge of her hidden emotions and drowned in them.
He stole her breath away. She was so lost in his lovely dark eyes, she smiled and he pulled his head closer to hers.
Although he was a bit slow Berlin was too mesmerized to even blink.
She had forgotten about everything apart from the feelings she saw in his eyes until she felt his lips touch hers and instantly his tongue began to probe her lips for entrance.
Although she wasn't sure what was happening anymore, she felt his other hand began to slide up and slowly going to her breast. She could stop him, and sure he would definitely stop. But she couldn't push him away. Her mind and body are at war.
Immediately he drove right in, Karlos did not need an invitation and actually entwined his tongue with hers, kissing her with passion and need.
At first, she did not do much but as his kissing and touring of her mouth with his tongue progressed, she was forced to melt into the kiss and kiss him back in return.
She sucked in a breath, but didn't resist. He will always be her drug. The only person who can make her forget everything at least for a while.
And ohhh, what a breathtaking kiss this was. Both of them had forgotten their surroundings.
She shuddered at the sensations over her body. And she gave into the pleasure he was forcing her to experience.
His lips are kissing her like a hungry beast. And the grip of his hand over her breasts were hard enough to make her feel the slight sting of his squeeze.
To her horror, she could feel wetness pooling between her legs.
They kept at it for another twenty seconds more.
'Freeze! Freeze'
However, it did not work. Karlos tongue slowly kept sliding into her mouth with strong lust and desire, hard and heavy.
Berlin stared, her eyes wide, and her heart suddenly raced.
'This was real? This was not a dream? Oh my gosh, she kissed him but why didn't he get mad? And why is he kissing her back?'
Noticing her absentmindedness, Karlos bit her lip.
Berlin's heart skipped a beat and she suddenly blushed.
'It is real!!'
It was not a dream. She was not in a dream.
"Ahem"
The sudden noise made Berlin freeze and push him away. She turned her heard and saw Mrs. Lydia standing at the door with a smile and tears in her eyes. " Sleeping beauty just woke up!"
Although Berlin knew that she was just teasing, Berlin couldn't help blushing more and looking at Karlos. She found that he was calm as always, although a bit flushed himself as well.
"I will go get the doctor, Mom." Karlos suddenly stood up, heading out.
Mrs. Lydia smiled and nodded "Go, get him. Your pretty wife will be right here."
Karlos avoided his Mom's gaze and quickly left the room.
"Oh My dear. I was worried." Mrs. Lydia hugged her daughter-in-law gently to avoid worsening her condition, showing her concern and worry about the incident. This hug was as comfortable as she felt when Karlos embraced her earlier. And to her horror, Berlin realized that she was more comforted in his arms than in Mrs. Lydia's, which should be wrong.
Mrs. Lydia is like a Mom who loves and treats her better than anyone in this world. She was there when Berlin needed someone during her ups and downs of life. But Karlos never cared if her opinion mattered or not. He never liked her to begin with.
'Did I smash my head or something?' what is wrong with me? That man is in love with someone else and his lover is a killer.' Berlin thought with horror.
"I am okay, Mom" She replied softly, pushing her disturbing thoughts to the back of her mind.
Mrs. Lydia pulled back and started checking Berlin's injured arm.
"This is going to take a long while before it heals. It looks painful." Mrs. Lydia noticed how the bandages had been wrapped around her arm.
Berlin glanced at her injured arm and she tentatively touched it and winced in pain.
Knock! Knock!
"Come in." Mrs. Lydia said
Jason entered the room. He was holding a bouquet of flowers. A little while after getting coffee, Jason returned. As soon as he heard she was awake, he decided to get something for her.
Immediately he set foot into the room, her head turned in his direction. And her jaw almost dropped at the man that entered.
'oh my God, that is...'
At one look, Berlin recognized him, from her previous lifetime, this man was Jason Vicks. Jason is the son of the late Old man Vicks.
His company is the third most famous company in the city. A powerful CEO in the fashion world. He was mostly known for his humble nature.
It was no doubt that Karlos and him were filthy rich and smart. Both men were unequally handsome, but Karlos stood on top of the food chain, taking the lead.
But she still could not believe the presence of the man she was standing in the midst of.
"Wow, look at how gorgeous they look." Mrs. Lydia remarked looking at the flowers from where she stood holding Berlin.
As Jason exchanged pleasantries with Mrs. Lydia, he walked over to her side.
Berlin whose mind had been roaming, found it way back into the room when she noticed that he was about to go on his knees and apologize but she immediately stopped him.
"No need for this." She felt a bit at fault. She could have prevented all this if she had not been lost in her thoughts.
"Even so, please accept my apology," Jason said, looking regretful. Seeing her injured made him feel even worse.
"I'm fine now. If anything, I should be thanking you." She glanced around the room, realizing something. "Where is your friend?"
If she remembered correctly, there had been two of them.
"Oh! my driver, Mr. Fred Gaffer. He is in police custody."
Berlin sat there speechless. Did she just hear correctly? What did he mean by police custody?
'How come?' But she was okay now and it had not been entirely his fault to begin with.
"Police Custody! He was placed in the cells?"
"Your condition was bad earlier, so the police took him in."
And also because your husband made sure he wasn't released easily, he added silently. Karlos had the power to make grown men tremble with just one look, and Jason was thankful it hadn't gotten worse.
"That's true. I was scared to death," Mrs. Lydia added, her voice shaky.
Berlin squeezed her hand gently to reassure her. Then she turned back to Jason.
"I would like to drop all the charges," Berlin said. Jason let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.
"Thank you, Mrs. Berlin. I truly appreciate it," he said. "I'll go check on Fred now, but I'd like to keep in touch if that's alright with you." He handed her a business card.
"Sure." She replied him, collecting the card.
*********
In a fancy looking well decorated office, a man in his fifties is seen sitting on one of the leather cushion chairs in an adjourning relaxation room to his office.
Ring! Ring! Ring!
The phone beside him lit up at an incoming call. Slowly he tilted his head to the side, to look at the caller on the phone screen.
Without much thought, he moved the cigarette in his right hand to his left. Picked up the phone and answered the call.
"Speak"
His deep voice came out strong and authoritative with just that one word.
"Boss, she got hit," the caller at the other end said, a male voice to be precise. His voice was filled with joy as he continued. "It was bad."
"Is she dead?" The elderly man asked.
His face was blank and void of any emotion as his fingers twirled the cigarette in his hands.
The caller hesitated. "My apologies, boss. Unfortunately, she's not."
"Stubborn brat! One could expect much. He thought to himself.
"Keep me updated." His voice was slightly raised as he spoke into the phone.
Although he didn't yell, but the coldness in his voice could send chills down the spine of anyone who heard him."Do nothing for now. Wait for my next command."
"Yes, boss." the person on the other end of the call said.
The call ended.
