"hmmm, I feel different". It wasn't the heavy but strangely satisfying feeling he got from the Dept of his being, but the subtle feeling of energy flowing calming within him, it wasn't an exhilarating feeling but it was refreshing and warm, his senses became acute. He could hear a pair of small feet running in his direction, he quickly shut his eyes he didn't know how the previous inhabitant of his body acted he didn't want to be labeled possessed and then beheaded.
The owner of the small pair of feet walked in and stopped directly in front of him.
"Brother I know you are already awake, remember I had already passed been touched by the goddess, if I concentrate enough I can now hear your heartbeat. They is no fooling me now, hehehe". A feminine voice rang out excitedly.
Opening his eyes realizing his cover was blown he looked at the owner of the small feet, but he saw a girl wearing a brown kimono, she had black hair and black eyes, but that's not the point she was a tall and mature girl and definitely not the owner of the pair of small feet. But she wasn't giving him the leisuring of doubt.
"Come on today's the day, the day of the festival we have all been waiting for". Hearing what she said he frowned.
Seeing his frowning face she hurriedly spoke. "I know you don't get why we're so excited about it, it's just that weren't born then and you don't understand the significance of it".
He speechlessly looked at the young girl who kept rumbling on and on. Sighing inwardly he used his ability to zone out, leaving only him and his thoughts.
'she mentioned goddess, then I most be in an ancient era for them to still believe in gods, I just hope it isn't the age of god's, or the era of Eclipse'. Thinking of Eclipse this was definitely not were he got his name from, that's right his name came naturally to him'. Eclipse's rationalization was put to a stop as he felt a mild pain on his shoulder.
Looking up to see the young lady in front of him with a pouting face, he could see she was rubbing the hand he assumed she had hit him with.
"I kept calling out to you but you won't answer, come to think of it you haven't said a single word ever since I walked in. It okay it's not like I am complaining it's better than your foul mouth".
Eclipse became excited. 'It's seems as if the previous inhabitant of this body is just as foul mouthed as me great'. Many people would get annoyed being called foul mouthed but not Eclipse.
"Mom said to call you for breakfast, so hurry up". Turning to leave she muttered. "Talking makes me hungry". Eclipse was left in silence as he pondered on how to pass the trial, he completely ignored whatever it was she just said. Unlike the trial of existence that required a specific information, this trial needed him to change a certain information, but this information was up to you to find out.
'if I gether enough information I could make out of the era I am, hearing about this goddess I will assume we are between the era of Dawn and the era of Eclipse. Definitely not during the Era of Eclipse, we would have been in the middle of a civil war by now, and definitely not after, the gods has all gone silent after the brutal war lots of gods went to hibernation'.
"I just hope the guardians are strong enough to protect me from the monstrosity of this realm. Thinking of that I haven't been to my soul plane, it could give me an idea of what my exousia is'.
Following what was taught in school he simply willed it, he felt a tug and he suddenly saw himself staring at the paper shaped as a cub rotating along with the many markings on it's body. He looked around it was the same light less abyss with the cube being the only supplier of light. His body started to gravate towards the cube like before, the cube opened up swallowing him whole.
It was strange, this was how instantaneous teleportation was, one second he was seeing the cube and the next he was in an entirely new realm.
Only one word could describe his soul plane — broken. His soul plane was broken, looking at sky the supposed place his soul was temporary residing, it was covered with web like cracks, the crack was as a result of his soul resouing out of his slumber, just the awareness his soul gained was enough to put is spiritual plane to shambles. Lowering his head in shame, he took in the sight of his Aether sea or pond, no more like evaporated water, his Aether was in a pitiful gaseous state, far from the raging sea he visualized. Turning his head away from the pitiful state his soul plane was he focused on the strange things.
One, in the direction of North there was a red colored mist, leaving the entire north side of his soul plane in Eclipse. The second odd thing was on the south, it was a huge tree, it had twisting trunks that snaked around itself leaving only a rose flower on the top.
'last time I remember, these things aren't supposed to be in a person's soul plane'.
His acute senses picked up a presence in front of him, he looked around but couldn't find anything, but the feeling became stronger.
'i should probably check outside'. With that his body disappeared'.
He regained awareness to see the same girl who had invited him for breakfast in front of him with an expression full of anger.
"I called you for breakfast and you didn't show up, mom even scolded me in front of our little brother, do you know how shameful it is to be scolded in the presence of your junior sibling. I guess you don't, cause you have no shame".
"Sorry".
His voice is sounded awkward, as if he have spoken in a while, the young girl whose name he didn't know and wasn't going to ask was stunned. Looking at her blank face he almost had an heart attack.
'did she realize I am not her brother, this is bad I can't let her tell another soul, but how I don't even know what my exousia is'. He was told never to use his exousia unless he knew how it operated. They were consequences if he didn't know what his exousia was, they was an instance when someone in the same position as him, who couldn't read their soul dairy, after successfully passing his trials didn't bother to learn the languages but sought to carry out practical ended up nourishing the environment with his life force, the result — overgrown trees and a dried up corpse, at least that was what was told to them, he didn't know if it was just to scare them.
'consequences be damned'. As he was about to do something he would regret the girl spoke.
"Weird, I have never heard you say sorry, and your voice is a bit weird did you have a nightmare". The girl rushed to him held his hand and dragged him across the strangely smooth floor shouting. "Mom, Marius had a nightmare".
Eclipse mind wasn't on the fact that he just discovered his new name but on something else entirely.
'she found it weird that I said sorry, damn the previous owner of this body is must be a badass, am impressed'. As Eclipse marvelled at the work of the boy he was dragged into a room where he could see a middle aged man and woman.
The middle aged man had an angular face with black hair and a mustache, the middle aged woman also had black hair with a delicate oval face, the last member was a little boy of about seven years, his oval face a direct copy of his mother.
The woman he could tell was his supposed mother took him from the grasp of his sister and hugged him.
"Am so sorry you have to witness that disterious thing, I hope you could forgive mummy she couldn't talk your father out of his decision".
"I told him to become a man, how was I supposed to know he would willingly walk himself to the gorge, I can't say enough kid that was beyond stupid".
'What are they talking about'.
His mother left him be as he looked at his father who was sharpening his sword, his father looked at him with a look of pride and mouthed. "I am proud of you".
His father suddenly straightened up as he began to sharpen his sword with an greater intensity.
"So that's you would say to a son who almost got himself killed".
He heard the voice of his mother, turning around to see her coming back from the kitchen with wooden plates on her hands with a stern expression on her face.
"And how many times would I tell you not to sharpen your sword when we are about to eat".
"My bad". His father dropped his sword and sharpener on the floor with a cheeky smile on his face.
His heart warmed as he took in the sight of his father carassing his mother and talking to soothen her, he could see her desperately trying to hold back her blissful expression but failing miserably, the sight of his older sister and younger brother fighting over a piece of meat.
'is this what family looks like, i feel warm all over'.
The two siblings poured water on him, his mother shouting out them to clean it up.
'this is so beautiful, I think I got thrown into a peaceful era am just here to prevent a civil war, yep that's definitely it, a war ridden era wouldn't be this beautiful.
Boy was he wrong.
