Chapter 18 - Shourd

The transformation was complete. He was no longer just Eclipse. He had been reborn, recreated by the Aether itself. And as he clenched his fist, watching energy move through his Aether vein— veins which has raptured and poured its Aether into his body, changing him. Unknown to him, his tattooed half broken wings actually grew out, as if healing itself appearing longer and slender, the rose flower on his wrist vanished.

He was something more than mortal now.

But that was just an illusion of created by his first interaction with his Soul Aether, the pitiful Aether he had in the beginning was nothing more then the world natural Aether, designed to only help him manifest his exousia.

His environment blurred and he was back in his nexus, staring straight at his soul shard. Eclipse's Soul Shard was nothing more than a fragment of a broken mirror, suspended in the void of his being. Despite its jagged edges and fractured form, it radiated an undeniable presence—glowing softly with an ethereal yellow and white light. The two colors wove together in a delicate, shifting dance, illustrating the essence of his nexus, the very core of his existence.

The shard pulsed in rhythm with an unseen force, its glow waxing and waning like the breath of a living thing. It was a paradox—both whole and incomplete, shattered yet unyielding. The mirror's reflection was empty except for the Aether flowing within it and out of it. The light of his soul shard rested on his Aether reserve and in turn turned in Aether.

Though small, the shard contained an infinite depth, a reservoir of power waiting to be claimed. And within its broken surface, the truth of Eclipse's existence lay hidden, waiting to be revealed.

"Doesn't it know I can't understand a thing".

There was an awkward silence until the diary switch to started to flip itself until it stopped at a page, the page was blank except for a star pattern on it with words under it.

"Is this thing intelligent'. Sometimes Eclipse wondered if the soul Dairy had intelligence at all, he didn't understand it, how was he supposed to know what to do.

'wow my voice changed'. His voice appeared strange and strangely beautiful. He wasn't a narcissist if that what you are thinking, but his voice was somehow slender like a lady.

'stay focused, remember they said something about touching right'. He didn't quite remember but he heard somewhere to touch the book if it appeared.

With that he pressed his thumb on the star pattern, his blood was extracted unknownly to him and then he was yanked.

With a startled cry he woke up to a hospital celling, he looked around everything pointed to a hospital. He propped himself upward, held his head.

"Am finally out". His voice was filled with shocked. " I survived, I survived". He started to mumble like a broken record only to stop when the door opened for a doctor to enter.

"It seems you are awoke, which means you survived the trials".

Before he could respond, a hot feeling filled his chest.

"Not again".

sharp, sudden jolt of emotion surged through him, pulling Eclipse from the calm exterior he had so carefully built. His eyes widened, the memories flooding his mind in a torrent of anguish. His chest tightened, and for a brief moment, he was overwhelmed with the crushing weight of the past.

He remembered the day when his clan was wiped out—devoured by a creature that was nothing more than a grotesque mass of flesh and eyes. The screams still echoed in his ears, the gory image of his comrades being torn apart, swallowed by a darkness too unnatural to comprehend. The raw horror of it all surged back, a pain so deep it almost consumed him.

Then came the news—the terrible, hollow news of those who died, one by one, their lives snuffed out by the same cruel force. He could still hear their names in the wind, feel the absence of their presence like a hole in the world.— Raphael

But it was Timon and his family's death that struck the deepest blow. He had failed them, and that failure resonated within him, an eternal guilt that twisted his heart with every heartbeat.

Eclipse gasped for air, but no breath came. His lungs burned, desperate to fill with oxygen, but it was as if the air itself had abandoned him. Tears, hot and unshed for so long, welled up in his eyes, blurring his vision. He trembled, unable to stop the wave of emotion crashing over him, unable to breathe, unable to escape the past that haunted him like a shadow that never left.

For a moment, he felt as though he would break, his tears began to fall as he began to cry, he wasn't even in his state of mind to think, it was as if all this time his emotions were covered by a shroud rejecting his access to his emotions. With that he fainted from overwhelming of emotions
