CHAPTER 9

"Signorina, nasan ka? Teka lang ah. Nagpapatulong pa ko sa mga dala kong gamit. Anong sasakyan po pala dala mo? Baka hindi magkasya to." (Signorina, where are you? Wait a minute. I have someone helping me with my things. What car were you driving? My things might not fit in your car.) Ade's lengthy greeting when she answered her call.

Ade was pure Italian, but she was fluent in Tagalog. If it were only her voice, anyone would think she's a Filipino. She learned it from Aurora's family. She often visits their mansion, and she was willing to learn the language. She was speaking it more now than her native tongue.

"Let me see for myself. I'm here in the lounge area." She stated.

"Okay. I can see where you are. I'm hanging up." Her voice sounded thrilled, and Ade ended the call. "Signorina!"

Aurora snapped her head to the far right, where she heard Ade's voice. Some people were looking at them as her friend was running towards her.

A smile broke on her lips until her friend was in front of her, and Ade instantly pulled her in a tight hug. She hasn't even lifted her arm to hug her also, but Ade already pulled herself from her. Ade turned around to the porter who was pushing her things in a trolley. She was thinking if they would fit in her car. Five medium boxes and two standard-size luggage.

Ade turned to her with a worried expression on her face. "I don't know what car you brought, but I hope it had enough space for those. If not, I could just take a cab. And based on your expression, you're not driving a normal car." She stated tauntingly.

That made her laugh. "What's your definition of a normal car?" She asked back.

"That's comfortable to drive, and the backseat wouldn't just be for decoration and can hide two corpses in the trunk?" Ade's instant reply.

She couldn't hold back the laughter from her reply. "I don't have to put dead buddies in the trunk. I can just have them as my backseat passengers. They won't complain in the cramped space anyway." She raised her eyebrows and smirked at her friend. She's waiting for her to dare say anything.

Ade's jaw fell at Aurora's words. The horror in Ade's eyes was just too cute to resist another chuckle from her.

The porter was staring at them weirdly while waiting at the side to see where they wanted the things delivered to.

"Anyway." Aurora glanced and scanned the things again. She was calculating the spaces in her car in her mind. "I think those are enough to fill the trunk and the backseat. Let's go."

Ade sighed in relief. "Thank God." She turned to the guy. "Seguici, per favore." (Follow us, please.) She said to the porter, and he nodded, following them outside.

When they were almost at Aurora's car, she pressed the keys.

"Oh." Ade's eyes widened in amazement. She was skipping to the car and roamed her eyes to its body entirely.

"Per favore, metti le scatole sul sedile posteriore e I bagagli nel bagagliaio. Posiziona prima le scatole. Poi chiuderò la parte superiore in modo che ci sia più spazio sul retro." (Please put the boxes in the backseat and the luggage in the trunk. Place the boxes first. Then I'll close the top so that there would be a bigger space at the back.) Aurora told the porter because Ade was still busy marveling at the car.

The porter nodded, and he too was staring at the with awe while he was given instructions.

Aurora watched the porter as he transferred Ade's things.

She folded her arms and waited for her friend to calm down from excitement. After a few minutes, Ade noticed her again and stepped beside her.

"Did I already tell you that I was never wrong to befriend you?" There was a grin on her face.

She raised an eyebrow at her. "If you're being fake with me, I don't mind. I can just flick you with my fingers."

Ade scoffed and glared at her. "That's too cruel." Then she bumped her arm lightly. A smile was back on her face. "Signor Adolfo's gift?"

"Si." It was a gift from her father.

Ade knew everything about her. When she moved to Italy, she met her then. Aside from the fact that she's Fabio's niece, she's also the daughter of their mansion's butler, and her mother was their chef. They've been friends for years, but Ade also considered her as her boss, so she respects her at times.

She was happy that they were going to the same school. They always banter, but she often taunts her. She likes Ade's personality because despite the fact that her family works for them, she still treated her as an equal friend, and she wasn't faking it. Aside from that, Ade was so cute to tease. Her expressions were too easy to read. And she always pouted whenever she taunted her.

Aurora pressed the remote for the car's roof to settle. Not minding that some people were watching them in awe.

"Ay, I wanna ride with the roof off." Ade commented in disappointment.

"Next time. We need to pull out the roof so there's enough space for your luggage in the trunk. Unless you want to leave one of the luggage." She glanced at her and waited for her cute reaction.

"No." She disapprovingly expressed. Her eyebrows were forming a single line. "There's a lot of next time."

Then she pressed another button to open the trunk. She took out some bills in her pocket to give them to the guy. "Get in. We'll have snack after this." She said to Ade.

"Okay. I'm hungry." She quickly went to the passenger seat and get herself in. Her excitement wasn't that obvious. She shook her head in her friend's joyous reaction.

She closed the trunk when the porter stood straight and finished the job. "Thank you." She handed him a tip. A very generous tip that made the guy's jaw slacked open. Then he gave her a wide grin.

"Grazie, signorina. Grazie mille." (Thank you, signorina. Thank you very much.) He reached two hands for the money and he was still nodding nonstop. He was in shock while he looked at her walking away. She nodded at him before she entered the car.
