With a sudden sharp inhale, Xavier ripped himself away.
His heart was pounding, his mind spinning.
What the hell had he just done?
Riven, still pressed against the bars, let out a shaky breath. His lips were swollen, his eyes dazed, his entire body humming with satisfaction. "Why did we stop?"
Xavier clenched his fists, forcing himself to step back.
His entire body ached.
His instincts screamed at him to do it again.
But he had already lost too much control.
This was wrong.
He was just a guard. Riven was a prisoner.
This could never happen again.
"…Go to sleep," Xavier muttered, voice hoarse.
Xavier's breath was still uneven, his chest rising and falling in sharp, controlled motions as he forced himself to turn away. He couldn't face Riven.
He couldn't risk it.
His hands clenched into fists at his sides, his entire body thrumming with unspent energy.
What the hell was wrong with him?
