Riven crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at Soran, his tail flicking behind him in irritation. "So you wanted to extort him now? Is that why I was bought in the first place?"
Soran didn't seem the least bit offended by the accusation. If anything, his mood brightened at the mention of extortion, like a cat that had just spotted a fat, helpless mouse.
"That's exactly right," he admitted with a smirk. "I did buy you. But only because you were a curious specimen."
Riven's ears twitched at that. Specimen. He bristled. 'Oh, great. Love being referred to as some rare exhibit in a creepy collector's cabinet.'
Well, Soran was creepy but also hot so it was okay. It balanced out.
"Most half-breeds of any clan lean more towards their animal side than their human one. They're predictable, instinct-driven. But you? You seem… Different." His sharp gaze flickered over Riven like he was trying to dissect him on the spot. "Unique. And I like collecting unique things."
