Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: A Replay of the Past!

Chapter 47: A Replay of the Past!

Obito stared at the kunai flying toward him, his mind still ringing with the words whispered into his ear.

For a moment, he was stunned.

Then, beneath his mask, his face flushed red with rage.

Damn it—he tricked me?!

So this brat had planned all along to lure him out—just to take him down?!

Feeling the rush of wind from the kunai aimed at his back, Obito swiftly activated Kamui to phase his body while simultaneously dodging on his own.

With only one Sharingan, his phase-shifting wasn't as instantaneous as it would have been with both eyes. At this extreme range, he had to rely on pure reaction speed as well!

Whoosh!—

Their figures blurred past each other before landing on opposite sides of the clearing.

Obito lowered his gaze to his left arm.

Blood was dripping steadily from his shoulder.

"...Good. Very good."

His eyes darkened.

He couldn't even remember the last time he had actually been injured.

The last time…

Had it been five or six years ago?

That night—when he unleashed the Nine-Tails.

And back then, it was the Flying Thunder God that wounded him as well…

[Defeat the Attacker]

"So, you're the one who attacked him?"

Haruta glanced at the system notification before raising an eyebrow at Obito.

To be honest, he hadn't wanted to face Obito this soon.

It would have been much better to wait until he was stronger.

But who could've guessed that this bastard would try to frame him?!

Still, Haruta figured there was a way to salvage this situation.

At the very least—he needed to make sure Obito wasn't the only one who held all the cards.

"A Sharingan… You're an Uchiha?"

Haruta's expression suddenly sharpened.

He lowered his head slightly, staring directly at Obito's feet.

Then, he gritted his teeth and spoke harshly.

"So it's true—all Uchiha are lunatics!"

"You're framing me because I defeated him during the Chūnin Exams, aren't you?!"

**"Lord Danzo was right—**Uchiha are nothing but villains!"

"..."

Obito froze.

What the hell kind of nonsense was this?!

Still, he instinctively responded in an icy tone.

"You don't need to know who I am. All that matters is that you were about to kill him—so…"

But the moment he said that—

He felt something was wrong.

Wait…

Wasn't he the one who attacked Uchiha Itachi?*

"So it's true—you Uchiha really are evil!"

Haruta immediately seized on Obito's words, his eyes darkening.

"You're all in on this together, huh? Trying to set me up? Then I'll just have to take you down first!"

Without hesitation, he hurled a kunai straight at Obito!

"Idiot."

Obito sneered.

Did this kid think he was the Fourth Hokage?

That he could actually trap him here?

He didn't even dodge—the kunai phased harmlessly through him.

With Kamui active, physical attacks meant nothing to him.

At the same time, his mind was rapidly assessing the situation.

This crazy bastard had instantly decided to eliminate evidence—without hesitation.

Obito had no intention of letting Itachi die here.

But now that he had revealed himself, his original plan was ruined.

And worst of all—

If this kid voluntarily submitted himself to a Yamanaka mind probe, things would get messy.

Even if Obito wasn't afraid of exposure, Kamui gave him absolute freedom of movement.

No one could truly stop him from coming and going.

But Akatsuki was still in its early stages. Right now, it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.

That meant he had to act.

He had to erase Haruta's memory and frame him as Itachi's attacker.

"Besides… that brat actually wounded me."

Even though half of Obito's body was composed of White Zetsu's cells—Haruta had hit his real flesh.

"Fine. Consider this… payback for the past."

Swish!

Obito lunged forward in an instant!

Haruta responded just as swiftly, meeting him head-on.

Both moved at terrifying speeds.

In the blink of an eye, they clashed.

Clang!—

A dark iron chain slipped from Obito's sleeve as he grasped it tightly.

But Haruta didn't bother looking at Obito's face.

As soon as he got close, he stabbed forward with his kunai!

And just as expected—

The blade phased through Obito's body.

Obito struck back immediately.

The iron chains whipped toward Haruta, aiming to restrain him.

But just before they could make contact—

Haruta vanished.

In the next instant—

He reappeared on the branch of a tree nearby.

"That spatial technique of yours is pretty strange… But I think I already figured out how you framed me."

Haruta's tone was calm as he glanced at the still-unconscious Itachi.

Then, he noticed something.

At some point, a fresh wound had appeared on Itachi's body—blood was still seeping from it.

Haruta's eyes gleamed as he spoke.

"All you had to do… was throw a kunai as a distraction. Then, you used your space-time technique to attack from a blind spot, didn't you?"

"Tch. You talk too much."

Obito snorted coldly.

He felt a bit irritated—this brat had figured it out too quickly.

Still, considering his level of analytical ability, it wasn't surprising.

"But that doesn't matter. You don't have a single chance of escape."

"Really? What if I call for help?"

Haruta suddenly grinned.

"Even though Itachi's situation will be hard to explain, once reinforcements arrive, you'll have no choice but to retreat.

"Otherwise—you'll be dragging the Uchiha down with you."

"And all I have to do is let the Yamanaka Clan read my memories. Then you're completely exposed."

"..."

Obito opened his mouth… but no words came out.

Damn it.

This was exactly what he didn't want to happen.

Was this brat doing it on purpose?!

"…But never mind."

Haruta suddenly shook his head, sighing in mock regret.

"If I actually let them check my memories, Lord Danzo's secrets would be exposed too."

"So, I guess I'll just settle things right here."

Then, his expression shifted—his tone turning sharp.

"By the way… I just figured something else out."

"Hmm?"

Obito's eyes narrowed.

But before he could react—

Haruta suddenly threw dozens of kunai in a dense barrage!

"Childish."

Obito scoffed, ignoring the kunai scattered around him.

His gaze locked onto Haruta, who had moved in from the side.

"That won't work."

Whoosh!

Once again, Haruta's kunai passed harmlessly through him.

And this time—

Obito reached out.

This was it.

He was going to grab Haruta and erase his memory.

"You brought this upon yourself!"

They were too close.

All Obito had to do was extend his hand.

But in that precise moment—

A surge of chakra exploded from Haruta's body.

[Cursed Seal—Activate!]

[Yin Release—Activate!]

[Yang Release—Activate!]

Three abilities surged simultaneously.

Obito's face twisted in alarm.

He could feel it—something was wrong.

But—he couldn't stop now.

It was too late.

Everything happened in a fraction of a second.

Then—

"Wind Release—Vacuum Blade!"

A searing pain ripped through his back.

"ARGH!"

Obito let out a muffled cry of agony.

And behind him—

Haruta's kunai shone with blinding light.
