MAXUS'S POV
Cairn contemplated for a moment. "We need to come up with a strategy."
"I haven't' been able to think of one that won't get us crushed in an instant. The minute Erik finds out we have his daughter he would just storm into the village kill everyone and take her."
Us having the princess was supposed to give us leverage when it came to fighting Erik and his army. However, that could only work if we had a strong defence.
"We need more time perhaps," Cairn said. "I know you'll think of something you always do," he said putting his faith in me.
I appreciated his faith in me, but I doubted it. Without more men the possibilities were small. I would continue to think about it but I didn't think anything would to fruition.
"I need you to remember how you fought for and helped the pack get to where is right now. It was no easy feat but you did it," he reminded me.
There was a moment of silence as I contemplated.
