Chapter 39 - Chapter 38: Mysterious Man

Third Person POV

Now, Silver stood face-to-face with the being he had longed to see—longed to know—for what felt like an eternity.

The figure had his back turned, unmoving.

Silver swallowed hard and took a deep breath before finally speaking.

"Alaric..." he whispered.

At the sound of his name, the being slowly turned around to face him. Alaric's eyes met Silver's.

And in that moment, Silver froze.

He didn't know whether to feel joy or sorrow.

Joy, because Alaric's form was breathtaking—serene, gentle, almost ethereal, radiating a calming presence that made the heart ache in awe.

Or sorrow... because this magnificent being stood shackled like a beast, bound at the wrists, ankles, and neck—stripped of freedom.

"Who are you?" Alaric asked softly, his voice calm, tilting his head slightly, unable to recognize the person before him.

Silver didn't respond. He simply looked into Alaric's eyes.

"You're an Alpha, by the scent of you..." Alaric murmured. "And I can smell the bloodline—you belong to the House of Theron." He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. "And yet... I can't bring myself to harm you."

And for the first time—unexpected, almost forbidden—tears slipped from Silver's eyes.

Tears he had not shed for years.

He closed his eyes, trying to hold it together. Sadness, for him, had always been a symbol of weakness. He wiped the tears away and took a deep breath.

"You don't need to know who I am," he said quietly.

He stepped forward, closing the distance between them.

"Do I know you?" Alaric asked, voice tinged with confusion. "Why do your eyes carry such sorrow that my heart aches just looking at you?"

Then, Silver smiled—for the first time, truly. A real, honest smile. One he had never known he was capable of.

He wanted to tell Alaric who he is, but decided not to at the last minute.

"You don't know me, Alaric. You don't need to," he replied, voice trembling. "I'm just... a worthless being. One who should never have been born."

At that, Alaric gently raised his hands and cupped Silver's cheeks.

The moment Silver felt Alaric's palms on his skin, something inside him shattered—and his tears began to flow freely. The cold, hardened shell he wore like armor softened into something human. Something fragile.

Unknowingly, he was experiencing one of the rare, powerful abilities of an Omega male...

A power that could soothe the rage, sorrow, and pain in someone's heart.

Omega's Tranquility.

"My mind screams to destroy anyone with Theron's blood," Alaric whispered, "but my heart... it says otherwise. I don't understand it, but... I feel happy. Just by sensing your presence."

"I feel it too," Silver replied. "A weight I never noticed—it's been lifted." He paused. "And I... I want to say I'm sorry."

"For what?" Alaric asked gently.

"For everything..." Silver whispered, his voice cracking as the tears continued.

But he had something to do—something he needed to make right.

Gently, he took Alaric's hands away from his face, and then reached for the chains binding him.

(SMASH!)

"You're free now, Alaric..." Silver said, voice breaking, smiling through the tears as he shattered the chains.

"At last... after all these years..." Alaric murmured, staring at his freed hands. Then he lifted his gaze to Silver. "Can I at least know your name?"

"You don't need to," Silver said again, softly. "All I ever wanted... was to correct a wrong."

(Sniff!)

Then suddenly, Silver's senses heightened—he caught the scent of someone approaching. Someone entering the chamber.

"Please... don't tell them I was here," he pleaded.

Before Alaric could respond, Silver disappeared, slipping into the shadows to hide.

Just in time—two figures appeared at the entrance.

As they met Alaric's eyes, all three of them fell silent, stunned.

Tears welled up—hearts pounding, as if recognizing a soul they thought lost.

"K-Kali..." Alaric choked out, voice trembling with emotion.

"Alaric!" Kali cried, sprinting forward and throwing her arms around her long-lost friend.

She wept, uncontrollably, unable to form words no matter how hard she tried.

"I'm glad... you're alive, Kali," Alaric murmured, his voice full of warmth and relief.

Then he noticed the other figure—someone standing behind Kali, watching him silently. Tears shimmered in his eyes, but he quickly wiped them away.

It was Champ.

"Who... who is this with you?" Alaric asked.

Kali stepped back, trying to compose herself. She wiped her tears with a trembling hand and gave him a soft, knowing smile.

"Look closely, Alaric," she said gently. "Look closely and see... who stands before you."

Alaric turned his gaze once more to the figure standing before him. And in that brief, heart-stopping moment, tears—hot and unrelenting—spilled from his eyes as he raised a trembling hand to cover his mouth.

"Ch-Champ? My child?" he choked out, voice breaking.

Champ could no longer hold back. He burst into tears, sobs shaking his body.

Without another word, Alaric rushed forward and wrapped his arms tightly around him.

"My child..." Alaric whispered again, voice soaked in disbelief and overwhelming joy.

"Mother..." Champ whispered back, muffled against Alaric's shoulder.

Meanwhile, from the shadows, Silver stood silently watching the scene unfold.

He drew in a deep breath, and a quiet, bittersweet smile curved his lips.

"One child in your arms is enough, Mother. You don't need to recognize me as your own. I don't deserve it."

His voice was barely a whisper, spoken only to the air. And with that, Silver turned away, slipping out unnoticed—choosing to disappear.

He left behind the reunion he had longed for. Because to him, this moment between Champ and Alaric... this was the redemption he owed. A step toward mending the terrible wrongs his father had committed.

Meanwhile, between the long-separated mother and child...

"At last, you've found each other," Kali said, her voice thick with emotion, eyes misty. "After all those years of waiting..."

"I've waited for this moment for so long," Alaric said, overwhelmed with happiness. "And it was all thanks to the one who shattered my chains. A being who refused to give me their name, but whose presence brought me inexplicable peace."

"Whoever they were, I owe them my gratitude," Champ said, his voice calm and grateful.

Alaric and Champ slowly stepped apart, finally able to take each other in.

"I never imagined I'd see you grown," Alaric whispered in awe. "The last time I saw you, you were just a child..."

"I'm so happy to finally meet you, Mother," Champ said with a bright, heartfelt smile.

"Is it just the two of you?" Alaric asked. "How did you get in here?"

"We're not alone," Kali replied with a grin. "We've come with others—young ones."

"Your friends, Champ?" Alaric asked.

"Friends I trust with my life," Champ answered.

That made Alaric's heart swell.

"You know, I used to worry you might grow up without any real friends. But hearing that you've found ones you can trust... I'm relieved." Alaric turned to Kali. "Just as I have you by my side."

"And not just that," Kali added playfully, "there's someone else here who's not just a friend to Champ."

"Kali!" Champ laughed, blushing and teary-eyed all at once. "Don't sell me out to my mother!"

"Oh?" Alaric said with a teasing smile. "You have someone special?"

"I believe you've met him already, Alaric," Kali said, her tone shifting slightly. "Though... from what he told us, you nearly killed him."

Alaric frowned in confusion.

"Champ, don't tell me this being... is Theron's son?"

"Yes, Mother," Champ admitted, hesitantly. "His name is Deux."

"But—" Alaric began, concern flashing in his eyes, but Kali stepped in quickly.

"You don't need to worry, Alaric," Kali assured her with a smile. "Deux is... different."

"Kali..." Champ said softly, gratitude in his voice.

"I met that boy. At first I did not like him, but as I got to know him better, he's not like his father," Kali continued. "He always puts Champ first. He reminds me of Voder."

Alaric inhaled deeply, a flicker of memory crossing his face.

"Wait," he asked, "You mean Voder isn't with you?"

"...Mother," Champ said sadly, "My father passed away when I was still a child. Uncle Henry raised me."

"What?" Alaric's eyes widened.

"I'm sorry you had to hear it like this, Alaric," Kali added gently. "But Voder is... gone."

Alaric stared at them both, confusion flashing across his features. Then he slowly shook his head.

"No... Voder..." she whispered. "He's still alive."

Both Champ and Kali froze in shock.

"But, Mother—how can you be certain?" Champ asked, stunned.

Alaric pulled back his collar, revealing a mark on his neck—a mark that once belonged to Voder.

"I can feel him," Alaric said, her voice trembling. "I feel his presence... his soul. Voder is alive."

Tears returned to Champ's eyes, and this time they fell with joy.

"My father?" he whispered, beaming, and threw his arms around Alaric. "Then there's still hope! We can be whole again, Mother!" he cried, sobbing like a child who had been given the world.

"Yes, Champ," Alaric said, holding him tightly. "Your father and I made a promise to each other. We vowed never to die without fulfilling it—to create a world where we could live in peace. A world where we never have to hide again."

"I want that world too, Mother," Champ said.

"I hate to break this moment," Kali interjected gently, "but something is happening outside this chamber."

Alaric turned to her, eyes alert.

"The Alpha King is here," Champ explained, tension rising in his voice. "He's facing off against Deux and my friends. They're trying to stop him from reaching this chamber—to protect me... and to protect you."

"Then let's go," Alaric said, determination flashing in her eyes. "Let's save Deux."

Champ and Kali nodded, standing tall beside her.

And so the three of them emerged from the chamber, stepping forward to calm the storm that waited beyond its doors.

...

...

...

Jiggs' POV

The moment I slipped into the chamber of the Omega females, I swear I thought I was going to die! My lungs were about to explode from holding my breath so long. It felt like one wrong move and boom—one of the Alpha King's death machines would slice me in half like an overripe watermelon!

Whew!

Okay, Jiggs. Inhale... Exhale...

"Game on," I muttered, slapping my cheeks to hype myself up. "Time to wake up these sleeping beauties!"

With ninja-level stealth (at least in my head), I tiptoed toward the first pod in the row. The room was eerily silent—except for the ominous hum of machines and my dramatic breathing.

"Cherith Finland..." I read the name etched on the glowing panel outside her glass cell. Classy name. Sounds like she drinks tea with her pinky up.

I slid into the pod, took another deep breath like I was about to dive into a volcano, and approached the terminal.

"Okay," I whispered, "when you wake up, please don't think I took advantage of you or anything, alright? I'm a good guy! A gentleman! A knight in sweaty armor!"

I inspected the setup—a tube running from the machine to her arm. It looked like it was pumping her full of some sleep juice.

One flick of a switch, and...

(SNAP!)

"There we go—wake up, wake up, please!" I whispered, practically chanting like a wizard casting a spell.

Her finger twitched.

Holy crap, it worked.

Seconds later, her eyes fluttered open, hazy and confused.

"Wh... where am I?" she asked weakly, her voice as soft as wind through leaves.

"Cherith Finland!" I said dramatically, like I just announced the winner of a pageant.

"Who are you?" she blinked. "Do you know me?"

"Well, not really. I read your name off the cell. But that's not important! What matters is that I'm here to bust you out of this sci-fi prison! Orders straight from the Omega King himself!"

"Omega King?" she asked, still looking at me like I might've hit my head on the way in.

"Yes! His name is Champ! And he's on a mission to free every Omega female trapped in this creepy facility. And me?" I puffed my chest, stood tall, and gave her the most heroic smolder I could manage, "I'm his most brilliant, most fearless, most devastatingly handsome right-hand man. You may call me... Mysterious Man."

"...Mysterious Man?" Cherith tilted her head, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. And thank you... for being brave enough to save us."

"Oh-ho-ho!" I laughed grandly, flipping invisible hair over my shoulder. "I fear NOTHING!"

(BOOOOM!)

A sudden explosion rocked the outside of the chamber, sending tremors through the floor.

I screamed. Not loudly, just... passionately. And immediately dove behind Cherith like a toddler hiding behind his mom.

My hands were clamped on her shoulders like my life depended on her being bulletproof.

"...Are you alright, Mysterious Man?" Cherith asked, trying so hard not to laugh.

I straightened up like a soldier who got caught napping.

"Ahem. Of course. I am perfectly fine," I said, adjusting an imaginary cape. "I am not afraid. Not. At. All."

With my voice deepened into full-on superhero mode, I boomed, "Now prepare yourself! Help me awaken the others, for the time has come to rise, Omega sisters! With you by my side, I—Mysterious Man—will liberate this place!"

Cherith nodded, her eyes glowing with newfound resolve. "Mm!"

And just like that, the rescue mission began. With surgical precision and chaotic teamwork, we ran from pod to pod, yanking out sleep tubes and waking up a small army of badass Omega females.

This is it. This is my moment. Jiggs—no, Mysterious Man—savior of the sleepy, defender of the dreamers, liberator of ladies.

Let the chaos begin.

...

"Just one more left to wake!" I announced triumphantly, preparing for the grand finale. My hand hovered dramatically over the final tube—when suddenly, the door to the private chamber creaked open. The very one where Champ was supposed to be.

I froze. This was my moment. My time to shine. I had to time this just right for maximum impact.

I paused—waiting for the full effect.

And then, with the flair of a stage actor delivering his final line, I declared, "Omega female named Sasha, I now awaken you from your eternal slumber!"

A round of applause erupted from the Omega females behind me, their eyes gleaming with admiration. I grinned. Yep. Totally nailed it.

But then—out of the doorway stepped not Champ... but a tall, familiar figure cloaked in quiet menace.

"SILVER?!" I shouted, nearly choking on my own spit. "What the—what are you doing here?! Don't tell me you stopped Champ from meeting his own mother?! Even that reunion, you're against?! What is wrong with you?!"

Silver didn't say a word. He just stood there. Nostrils flaring. Eyes squinting. Looking like he wanted to vaporize me with sheer annoyance.

Immediately, the crowd of Omega females shrieked and pressed closer to me like I was a human shield.

"Relax, Omega females," I said coolly, puffing my chest. "Fear not. For I, Mysterious Man, shall protect you all."

...And then I looked back at Silver, who was now narrowing his eyes with a murderous glare, and my knees nearly gave out. "S-Silver, come on, quit scaring them!"

"I haven't even done anything yet," he said flatly.

Then he grinned—and oh Lord, that grin—and began walking toward us. Slowly. Deliberately.

Cue panic.

One of the Omega females clutched my arm and cried, "Mysterious Man, save us! Don't let him take us!"

"I got this," I whispered like I was totally confident and not on the verge of pooping in my pants.

Inside, I was ready to pass out.

Silver stopped right in front of us and narrowed his eyes at the girls beside me.

"What exactly do you think you're doing?" he asked, voice dangerously low. "You, a Beta, getting cozy with Omega females? Were you planning to take advantage of them? You think you're worthy of breathing the same air as bloodlines higher than yours?"

"Wha—NO! No! I was sent here by Champ! I'm helping them escape this facility!" I said, waving my hands like a lunatic.

"Escape?" Silver repeated, eyeing the one Omega female I hadn't unplugged yet.

He walked over and yanked the tube out of her arm.

BZZZZZZZZZZT!

An earsplitting alarm blared from every corner of the chamber.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I screamed.

"I DON'T KNOW! I JUST YANKED IT OUT! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT'D DO THAT?!" Silver shouted back.

And then... the main entrance hissed open.

From the shadows, they appeared.

"Guards of the Alpha King," Silver said, deadly serious.

"First you, now Alpha males? Anyone else want to pop out and ruin my life today?!" I panicked.

"We believe in you, Mysterious Man!" shouted one of the Omega females.

I wanted to die right then and there.

My legs turned to jelly. I couldn't even pivot like a normal human being—I was vibrating like a dying robot.

I glanced at Silver, who just leaned against the wall, smiling like this was the best comedy show he'd ever watched.

"Go ahead and fight those guards. These Omega females want you to protect them, Mysterious Man," he said, smirking, before shoving me forward like I was a sacrificial goat.

"Silver!" I hissed, giving him my best I'm-going-to-haunt-you-if-I-die glare.

"You got this, brave one. Didn't you say you were the strongest and fearless Beta?" he teased.

"Don't mock Mysterious Man!" snapped an Omega female. "He's our hero!"

"Oh really, a hero?" Silver raised a brow. "He said that?"

And now the Alpha males were lining up in front of me. All five of them. Just standing there... and already I felt like they were beating the crap out of me with their eyes alone.

"Go, Mysterious Man!"

"Protect us!"

WHY IS THIS MY LIFE?

I couldn't back down now. The Omega females were looking at me like I was their only hope. I had an image to protect!

And that sadist Silver was grinning like a proud big brother watching his little sibling walk into traffic.

"Show them what you've got, Mysterious Man," he said.

I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, and summoned every ounce of fake courage I had.

Then pointed at the biggest Alpha male and roared, "I, MYSTERIOUS MAN, AM THE STRONGEST BETA YOU WILL EVER FACE!"

The Alphas exchanged amused glances. One of them chuckled. Another outright laughed.

This was going great.

I did the only thing that came to mind—I lunged forward and punched one square in the gut.

Nothing.

He looked down at me like I was a toddler who just booped him.

"That's your strongest punch, Beta?" he scoffed.

And then...

Blood trickled from his nose.

The other Alpha males blinked.

I blinked.

Even Mr. "I-Eat-Betas-For-Breakfast" Alpha male was confused.

Then his knees buckled, and he collapsed.

"Mysterious Man, you're amazing!" cried an Omega female.

What? How did I do that! Am I really so strong now?

Wait a damn minute!

I turned to look—and Silver, the smug bastard, was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, watching the chaos like he'd paid for front-row seats.

"Wow," he said dryly. "Incredible strength, Mysterious Man."

I facepalmed.

It was him. He did that. He must've messed with the Alpha's body somehow.

But how?! How did he target just one guy and not affect any of us? Was Silver seriously that powerful now? That precise?!

He gave me a nod that screamed, "Keep playing the hero, idiot."

And I—Jiggs, the not-so-mighty Beta—fought back tears.

This is my life now. This is what I signed up for.

Hooray me.

I turned back to face the Alpha males with swagger in my step and the dramatic flair of a man who definitely didn't almost pee himself earlier.

"That, gentlemen," I declared, pointing both index fingers like I was shooting invisible energy beams, "was just the aftershock of my punch!"

I threw my head back and yelled with all the passion I could muster, "I am Mysterious Man! The strongest Beta of them all! Feel the power of my wrath you Alpha males!"

And wouldn't you believe it—one by one, the Alpha males' noses started bleeding. Their faces twisted in confusion and mild horror.

I stood there, positively gleaming with pride while the Omega females around me nearly fainted from awe.

"Wow! Mysterious Man is incredible! His power is amazing! I never knew a Beta like him can overpower the Alpha males." said Silver in the most sarcastic tone I've ever heard, but the girls didn't catch it—they were too busy fangirling.

Then—thud. All five Alpha males collapsed to the ground like sacks of potatoes.

Cue the incoming Omega parade.

"You're our hero now, Mysterious Man!"

"Can you be my mate, please?!"

"Claim me! Right here, right now!"

"W-whoa! Slow down!" I said, flustered and giggling nervously as they hugged me like a victorious gladiator.

But of course, the party pooper just had to chime in.

"That's enough fun," Silver said, in that classic I'm-about-to-kill-the-vibe tone.

"And who are you to stop us from celebrating?" one Omega snapped. "You didn't even help! Mysterious Man defeated all the Alpha males on his own! And you just stood there doing nothing!"

Silver closed his eyes.

I swear to the moon, I saw his eyebrow twitch like he was physically restraining himself from drop-kicking the entire room.

Hehe. If only they knew...

Silver had obviously done something. No way my wimpy punch made five Alpha males bleed from the nose and drop like flies. But he wasn't admitting it. Was it pride? Shame? Or was he just letting me look like a hero for his own twisted amusement?

Probably the last one. Sadist.

"Well, now that they're out cold," Silver said, "maybe you can finally smuggle them out of here?"

"Oh! Right!" I said, slapping my forehead.

Silver turned to leave the chamber.

"You're not coming with us?" I called out.

"You're Mysterious Man, aren't you? The powerful and fearless Beta? You don't need my help," he said mockingly. "Besides, the Omega females seem pretty satisfied with you. Who am I? Just some Alpha guy watching from the sidelines."

And just like that, he turned his back to me.

But I wasn't letting him go that easily.

I ran and—yes, like a dramatic soap opera character—I dove to the floor and grabbed his right leg, hugging it with desperation.

"LET. ME. GO." he growled, dragging me across the floor like a toddler with attachment issues.

"Come with me! Please! What if more Alphas show up?! Mysterious Man has no back-up!" I whispered urgently.

"Not my problem," Silver muttered, clearly annoyed but somehow not flinging me across the room yet.

"If you don't help... I'll kiss your foot," I threatened.

"Do it. Maybe then you'll stop clinging to mine," he snapped.

"The Omega females would do it for me!" I retorted.

"Then go kiss their feet. They're the ones obsessed with you."

I refused to let go until we were out of the chamber, where the sound of a full-blown war zone greeted us.

He immediately yanked me behind a wall and pressed me against it, shielding us from view. His hand was on my chest, and he was peeking past me at the chaos outside.

"Silver! You're squishing me! And don't touch my breast!"

"Shut up, Mysterious Man!" he hissed. "We can't smuggle the Omegas out this way. The Alpha King's eyes are everywhere. If we go now, you'll get his attention. So what now?"

"We need a different route," I muttered. "If only we can escape this chamber, I know a path to the emergency exit where we can sneak the Omega females out without crossing the battlefield."

Silver raised a brow. "So? What's Mysterious Man's big plan?"

"I dunno! What's your idea?"

"Charge in and kill every living thing I see," he said, dead serious. "Including you along with your precious Omega female fans."

"WHY is that always your answer?! That's not even a plan! That's straight up murder!" I whispered-screamed.

"If you hate my plans, come up with your own," he said and pressed me even harder into the wall.

"Can't... breathe..." I gasped. "Why are you so close?!"

"Okay, I will give you all the space you want."

Then, without warning, he shoved me right into the open hallway—and I almost collided with a charging Alpha male!

I screamed, turned on my heel, and sprinted back into the chamber like my butt was on fire.

"YOU'RE INSANE, SILVER! YOU'RE ACTUALLY TRYING TO KILL ME!" I shouted.

He just smirked like he'd won the lottery.

I sighed and rubbed my temples. "Okay... based on the chaos outside, we can't sneak the Omegas through the main exit. It's too risky."

"So?" he replied with a shrug. "Not my problem. In fact—why am I still here? It's not my business to help your team." He turned to leave.

Oh no you don't!

I lunged again, slamming him into the wall and pinning him there with all 150 pounds of pure desperation. It was awkward. I definitely looked like I was hugging him.

"WAIT! Help me, Silver! Please! I beg you!" I said, tears almost forming in my eyes.

"Get off me! I'm disgusted! Don't hug me like this!" he shouted, squirming.

"I'm not hugging you—I'm stopping you from abandoning us!"

"...Fine. What's the plan?" he growled.

I looked up at him (he was taller, of course) and smiled.

"Don't smile at me like that. I'm gagging," he muttered.

"The plan is risky for me, but not for you," I said. "Fifty-fifty chance it'll work, but only if you cooperate."

"Spit it out, Mysterious Man."

"I have the blueprint of this facility," I said, pulling up the map on my phone. "There's a garage here," I pointed, "where I once saw a military tank parked."

"A tank?" Silver squinted.

"Yes! We sneak the Omega females in, and use the tank to smash our way out. Problem is... we need someone to get the tank."

Silver's eyes lit up. "You want me to drive it through the facility and blow a hole in the chamber?"

"Basically, yeah."

He grinned like a pyromaniac. "I love this part of the plan."

Then he grabbed my phone.

"HEY! Give that back!"

"I don't know this place like you do. I need the map," he said coolly.

"Ugh! Return it when you're done!"

"I'm leaving now. Let go of me unless you want me to throw you. Your sweat's sticking to my jacket."

I quickly let go.

He looked at my phone, eyes glinting with excitement.

"I'll get the tank," he said. "But I never said I'm following your plan. You guys figure out the rest. Thanks for the blueprint."

And then—he bolted out of the room with my phone.

"SILVER!!!" I shouted, but he was already gone.

That little gremlin! He took my phone and my plan!

We're doomed.

All I can do now... is pray Champ shows up.

Because if Silver's my only hope?

We're so screwed.

I returned to the group of Omega females, trying my best to look confident even though my insides felt like mashed potatoes.

"Mysterious Man, what's the plan now?" one of them asked, hopeful eyes glowing in the dim chamber.

I sighed deeply.

I was about to announce the brilliant escape plan I had crafted with all the cunning of a fox and the desperation of a man who didn't want to die... but then remembered Silver STOLE MY ENTIRE PLAN AND MY PHONE ALONG WITH IT.

Before I could spiral into a breakdown, the private chamber door—the one where Champ had disappeared into earlier—suddenly creaked open again.

All of us turned in unison, like it was the climax of a dramatic TV show. And then, three figures stepped into the room.

I gasped. My knees buckled. I dropped to the floor like a churchgoer at a holy vision.

"CHAMP!" I cried, running toward him and latching onto his legs like a clingy toddler. "You're back!"

"Jiggs! Let go of me! What are you doing?!" Champ hissed, trying to kick me off like I was a persistent leech.

While trying to pry me off his shins, he glanced up and finally noticed the fully-awake, sparkly-eyed Omega females behind me.

"Wait... did you wake them all up?" he asked, stunned.

I leapt to my feet and puffed out my chest. "Indeed I did, my good friend!"

I turned dramatically and gestured like a magician revealing a grand trick. "Ladies, behold! The one I told you about—the true savior of Omega females everywhere... the legendary Omega King himself!"

"OMEGA KING?!" Champ snapped under his breath. "What are you talking about?!"

"Just go with it," I whispered fiercely. "Don't ruin my moment. I'm their superhero now."

The Omega females immediately bowed their heads in gratitude, one of them speaking up.

"Thank you so much, Omega King. Mysterious Man has been a great help—your right hand, I believe?"

"'Mysterious Man'?" Champ repeated with a tone that said I-have-several-questions. He looked at me like I'd grown three heads. "Right hand?! What kind of nonsense have you been feeding them?"

"Please, Champ," I whispered again. "Just roll with it. I've got a reputation to uphold."

Then... I saw her. Or so I thought.

Standing behind Champ was a figure so radiant, so beautiful, so ethereal, I fell to my knees again like a medieval knight greeting a divine being.

"Are you... are you the Goddess of Omegas?" I gasped. "I am Mysterious Man, and I have saved your creations!"

She tried to stifle a laugh, a hand covering a barely contained smile.

"Get up, Jiggs," Champ groaned.

"He's your friend, Champ?" the ethereal being asked Champ gently.

But before Champ could answer, I blurted out, "Wait... YOU'RE A GUY?! But—but you're so pretty!"

Champ dragged a hand down his face, exasperated beyond measure.

"Yes, Mother. Unfortunately, this is my best friend," he muttered like he wanted to crawl into the floor and disappear. "Jiggs, meet my Omega mother."

I blinked. Then blinked again.

Standing before me was a full-fledged Omega male—Champ's mom—and honestly, with his glowing skin and graceful movements, he looked prettier than any woman I'd ever met.

"Oh no... don't tell me Champ's going to look this beautiful when he gets older," I whispered in shock. "I don't even know what to call you anymore. Beautiful sir-ma'am?"

The Omega male chuckled lightly.

"Is he always this ridiculous?" He asked Champ, completely serious.

Champ didn't answer. He just shook his head like he'd lost all hope in humanity.

But then, his expression turned serious.

"Alright, we don't have much time. According to the plan, we split into two groups: I lead one with my mother, and you lead the Omega females with the tank. Where is it?"

I scratched the back of my head and looked down, suddenly nervous.

"Yeah... about that..." I said. "We can't go the original way anymore. The battlefield out there is insane. We'll be spotted in seconds. And—well—Silver took my phone. He's already on his way to the military garage with my escape plan. And my only means of communication."

"WHAT?!" Champ shouted. "Of course! Silver can't do anything properly!"

"I thought he liked me now!" I whined. "But nooo! He's still playing dirty! Just like always! How are we gonna escape now?!"

Champ walked to the chamber entrance, and we all followed. He peeked outside, and his eyes widened.

"It's worse than I thought," he muttered. "You were right, Jiggs. If we try to move the Omegas now, we'll get spotted and slaughtered. Their safety has to come first."

Just then, Champ's mother stepped beside us and gently laid his hand on our shoulders.

"I'm proud of both of you," he said softly.

I blinked, startled by the warmth in his voice. My heart felt... fluffy. Like a marshmallow being hugged by a cloud.

Is this what it feels like to be touched by a true Omega male?

I almost burst into tears right then and there.

"I'll take care of them," he said calmly, still holding our shoulders.

"But, Mother..." Champ looked concerned.

"Don't worry, Champ," he replied with a warm smile. "I can stop them. I just hope I won't overdo it."

I could feel it.

Something powerful.

Something real.

Something... beautifully terrifying was about to happen.

The chamber door creaked open as Alaric—Champ's mother—stepped out, his steps graceful and calm, like a gentle breeze drifting into a storm.

All of us froze.

I don't know what terrified me more—the fact that someone so delicate-looking had volunteered to stop a war outside... or that he was walking straight into it like he was headed to a spa appointment!

We all leaned forward to watch.

And then—BOOM—his presence hit the battlefield like a divine slap. The moment Alaric stepped into the open, the chaos outside halted as if someone had hit pause on the apocalypse.

Even the Alpha King staggered back.

"Alaric? How did you escape?!" the King barked, his voice laced with shock.

Alaric didn't answer. He didn't even blink.

And then—it happened.

One by one, every warrior, every soldier, every Alpha male within Alaric's gaze... dropped to their knees.

Even the Alpha King.

Champ and I shared a look of pure, wide-eyed horror.

"Even the Alpha King couldn't resist?" Champ muttered.

"W-Wait... this is THE mom we are trying to save? This powerful being?" I whispered. "THIS is the true power of an Omega male?!"

"Even I didn't know Omega males could be this strong," one of the Omega females whispered in awe.

Champ stepped forward, his voice low but firm, "This is why it's time for Omegas like us... to fight back."

The girls looked at him like he was the hero of the century, like more of a God already!

But then...

The Alpha King tried to stand up, his expression twisted with rage. But because of how powerful Alaric is, he can't even do it.

"Alaric! Don't do this!" he roared.

Then suddenly—EVERYONE started clutching their throats.

Even our allies—Marsh, Gem, Daryl, Martin, Deux—even Deux! All choking, all struggling.

"Champ!" I shouted in a panic. "Tell your mom to stop! I think he's targeting everyone by accident! This is like 'kill everyone for higher win chances' type of move!"

Champ froze.

He stared at Deux, who was already bleeding and gasping.

"Oh god, he's to powerful that it will kill everyone—including us!" I cried, clawing at my scalp like I wanted to rip it off.

Champ ran toward his mother—only to immediately collapse to his knees.

"CHAMP TOO?!"

Kali's voice came from beside me. "Everyone in Alaric's line of sight is under his control. That's the terrifying truth."

"EVEN HIS OWN SON?!"

Kali nodded solemnly.

Alaric blinked, then realized what he'd done.

"Champ!" he gasped, rushing to him and falling to his knees.

For a moment, I felt relief. But then—drumroll please—the Alpha King started getting up.

And he was furious.

"You can't control us while your son is in front of you!" he growled.

Suddenly, the room pulsed with his anger. I looked at Kali—and blood trickled from his nose.

"This isn't good," Kali murmured, clutching his chest.

Even the Omega females started wheezing. Heck, I was affected. I nearly threw up my lungs. Even Champ was struggling to stay upright.

The only one unfazed was Alaric, and it could be that he is a fully awakened Omega male unlike Champ.

The Alpha King took one step forward, voice like poison. "I'll show you what it means... to watch your child die in front of you."

And I thought—welp, we lost. Plan's ruined. We're dead.

But then—BOOOOOOM!

An explosion blasted through the entrance.

A massive section of the wall caved in.

My eyes bulged. I staggered to my feet.

"...Silver?" I whispered.

Because rolling through the destruction like a demon in a toy store was a giant military tank—and Silver was clearly behind the wheel, probably laughing maniacally inside.

The Alpha King barely dodged in time, his army scattering like terrified ants.

And the tank?

It didn't stop.

It turned toward us.

"RUN!" I screamed.

Silver was definitely trying to kill us. No saving. No hero arc. Just good ol' murder by tank.

We all huddled together like terrified kittens in the corner as the tank smashed through the entrance of the chamber.

BOOM!

We were cornered. Helpless. Seconds from death.

And then...

Silver emerged from the tank like he was the final boss in a video game.

"I brought the tank, Mysterious Man," he said casually. "Was going to escape without you, but then I thought... meh, might as well raze the place first."

He grinned.

"Better get in before I change my mind."

I stared, speechless.

"HELLO?!" he barked.

"EVERYONE IN! MOVE!" I shouted, and the Omega females scrambled in.

Kali pulled me aside. "We'll split up as planned. We'll escape on foot, draw attention, and meet at Deux's car. You go with Silver. We've got this."

I nodded—and climbed into the deathmobile.

Silver looked at me with wild glee in his eyes. "Hold on. I'm gonna have fun with this."

He revved the engine and charged forward, tank treads grinding over everything in sight.

I swear I was sitting next to a demon.

He aimed for Alpha soldiers and hell even my friends!

"NOT MY FRIENDS, SILVER!"

"They're not my friends so I don't care," he shrugged, obliterating the wall beside them.

"STOP DESTROYING EVERYTHING!"

"No," he said. And laughed like a villain on his third energy drink.

The Omega females were huddled in the back, crying.

"It's okay!" I tried to comfort them. "Silver's just... excited. He's not dangerous! Probably!"

Meanwhile, Silver was bulldozing half the compound.

Eventually, I saw Kali's group escaping on foot.

"They're out! Let's go!" I shouted.

"Where to?" he asked.

"Veydith! Champ's territory!"

He nodded—and aimed the tank toward the open plains. We burst through the facility as half of it collapsed behind us.

"We're officially criminals now," Silver said calmly, hands on the wheel.

I turned to him—and he turned to me.

He held out my phone.

"Here," he said. "But don't get it twisted. Helping all of you doesn't make me your friend."

I took it cautiously.

"I don't like teams. I don't like people. I don't like smiling. I don't like affection. It disgusts me."

I nodded slowly. "Yep... totally get that."

"But you?" he smirked. "You might be an exception, you lowlife insect. I like your plans. It's too menace and idiotic but it works."

My brain short-circuited.

"E-Excuse me, what did you just say?"

"I'll drop off the Omega females in Veydith, just like Champ's little plan."

Then he leaned closer, eyes gleaming.

"And then... I'm taking you."

"What?!"

"You heard me," he said, grinning like the devil himself. "Say goodbye to your friends. You're mine now."

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!"

"Pack your bags, Mysterious Man. You're coming with me."

"Where!"

"I am officially claiming you from now on and forever."
