Babidi...
Moss certainly remembered this guy, but she hadn't expected Babidi to appear at this point in time.
A.D. 788—according to the first parallel world in Dragon Ball, the original timeline—this was already ten years after the Buu Saga had ended.
Majin Buu's reincarnation, the young boy Uub, had already become Son Goku's disciple.
And now, in this timeline where Cell was born, Babidi had never shown up before. In other words, he existed in a kind of quantum state—one of those characters who could appear at any time.
Seen from that angle, Babidi showing up during this period actually made sense.
Logically, yes... but Moss still couldn't help grumbling inwardly.
She just wanted to go back in time and hit Cell's mother with a blast, and now she had to deal with Babidi? Was she really going to have to fight Majin Buu too?
It was like defeating the final boss only to get ganged up on by elite mobs afterward.
Worse still… even after clearing the final boss, she might not even be able to beat those mobs.
After all, she wasn't a Saiyan.
Saiyans only had to train to death and they'd get stronger. Moss, on the other hand, had way more to consider.
This was a cake-splitting problem.
Her power came from energy reserves, and those reserves were limited. If she used them up fighting Majin Buu, how was she going to face Cell afterward?
As she considered this, Yamu and Spopovich had already closed in, one in front and one behind.
Spopovich, built like a bull and tall as a wall, circled behind Moss, grinning cruelly as he opened his arms, hands wide, aiming to seize her wrists from behind.
He also raised his knee, targeting her lower back.
The moment he grabbed her wrists and locked down her core strength, even if she wanted to fight back, she wouldn't be able to. It was a deadly three-point control technique.
"Got her!"
At the same time, Yamu charged in from the front, laughing madly, holding the magical jar tightly in both hands, aiming its syringe-like spout straight at Moss's abdomen.
Once this delicate little angel was restrained, she'd be unable to escape. As long as the spout pierced her, they could extract her energy.
Babidi-sama's mission would be complete!
But—just when the spout was less than half a meter from Moss's skin, she moved.
Sensing ki didn't just mean sensing energy—it also meant detecting the flow of air, and predicting someone's movements based on that.
Because it was tied to airflow, it was only good for sensing nearby movements—not distant ones.
Still, it was enough for Moss to detect Spopovich's actions without even turning around. Just as he was about to grab her, she struck back.
Left-wing-two and right-wing-two grabbed Spopovich's wrists.
"What the—?!"
Spopovich's wicked grin turned into a stunned grimace. What kind of wings were these?
Way too flexible!
They were basically extra hands!
Before he could recover, his neck was also seized—by left-wing-one and right-wing-one.
The three-point hold he had been about to use on Moss was reversed—onto himself.
Then came a spinning sensation, and the vision in front of him flipped—from a cascade of golden hair and eight white wings to a pair of high heels.
A very mismatched pair of high heels. The left was a thigh-high boot with a zipper. The right was a short boot with fluffy white feathers.
From Spopovich's upside-down perspective, he could even see the soles—black on the left, white on the right.
Asymmetrical design!
Normally, Spopovich would've liked that. His own outfit was asymmetrical, after all. But now? He really didn't want to see those shoes.
Because that meant he'd been flipped—head down, feet up.
And pain seared through his lower back.
"AAAAARGH!" Spopovich let out a scream of agony.
"HUH?!" Yamu faltered.
Because when Moss had repositioned Spopovich, the jar spout that had been aimed at her belly now stabbed straight into Spopovich's lower back.
He didn't have time to pull back—so it went in.
Defense activated!
Moss smirked. "If I'd aimed just a little higher, it might've been even more interesting."
"Die!!" Spopovich roared, thrusting his hands toward Moss. Blazing ki burst from his palms like rocket flames.
Scorching! Furious!
BOOM!
"How crude," Moss thought.
During her training at The Lookout, she had studied under the likes of Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Krillin, and Yamcha—each a top-tier ki master.
By comparison, Spopovich was just someone who'd had his potential forcefully unlocked by Babidi and rushed through training. His ki technique was garbage.
Moss raised her wings in front of herself and formed a ki shield.
CLANG!
The blast struck her shield, ringing like metal on metal.
Instead of tanking the force, she borrowed it—redirecting the impact using soft force. She flew backward, dozens of meters away.
And kept retreating, not slowing down.
Yamu watched her retreat and shouted, "She's trying to run! Spopovich, stop her!"
Spopovich clutched his back in pain, snarling. "Easy for you to say—it wasn't your back that got stabbed!"
"CHASE HER!"
Both of them ignited their ki and rocketed after her like comets.
Feeling them close in, Moss turned and yelled, "I was letting you go, and you still keep chasing me? Looking for death?!"
That stunned Yamu and Spopovich.
You're the one running—how are you the one talking tough?!
Moss didn't want to deal with these two. She had no intention of getting tangled up in the Majin Buu arc.
In the original timeline, if the main characters hadn't provided energy, Babidi wouldn't have been able to unseal Buu quickly.
Her goal was crystal clear—wait for the time machine, go to the first parallel world, and fire a shot at Cell.
She wanted to fight Cell, not Buu. That's why she had generously let them go.
She hadn't expected them to be so ungrateful.
And worse—she couldn't shake them!
Not all Flight Techniques were equal. Theirs had been supercharged by Babidi's enhancements. Judging from their aura, they were using high-speed movement—like a Super Flight technique—which nearly matched her own enhanced with the Rabbit Talisman.
"Cut her off!" Yamu shouted.
Spopovich clenched his fists, his aura blazing, and suddenly surged ahead, blocking her path.
"Nowhere to run, girl!" he snarled, arms wide.
But Moss's figure turned to air—vanishing without a trace.
"What?!"
Spopovich panicked, scanning around.
Where'd she go?
Yamu focused and sensed her ki. "You idiot, she's still in front of you!"
Even though they'd learned to sense ki, they hadn't fully adapted to it. Their instincts still relied on sight—a habit decades in the making.
THWACK!
Two high-heeled footprints bloomed on Spopovich's face. Blood sprayed from his nose, teeth flew, and his neck bent back 90 degrees.
A regular person would've been dead instantly. Even a Z Warrior would've been knocked out.
But Spopovich was different. Thanks to Babidi's magic, he had terrifying vitality.
A broken neck wasn't enough to even knock him out.
CRACK—
He snapped his head back into place, focusing his ki to scan the area.
"You're dead, girl! I'll find you, and knock your teeth out!"
SLASH!
His head fell off.
Even magic-enhanced bodies die when beheaded.
"AH?!" Yamu panicked, immediately turning to flee. "I'm sorry! Please forgive me!"
Too late.
Moss, still invisible with the Snake Talisman, hurled a ki disc.
A cloaked ki disc.
The razor-sharp, invisible Destructo Disc—perfect for assassination.
SLICE!
Yamu's back split open, blood spraying as the blade cut deep into the bone.
Screaming in pain, he lost control and fell from the sky into a nearby grove.
Moss chased him, still cloaked, a fresh ki disc forming in her hand—held, not thrown.
"Stop!" a voice shouted. "Don't hurt him!"
Moss ignored it.
The disc swung.
Yamu's head hit the ground.
