Ava tapped the screen of her new phone as though she were about to break it with the sheer force of her frustration. Her fingers hovered, then pressed harder.
Adelle, watching her, was starting to wonder if the phone had personally wronged Ava in some way. Before it could be shattered by Ava's escalating panic, Adelle placed a gentle hand on her lady's shoulder, as though trying to keep the poor device from exploding.
"My lady, no phones during meals, remember?" Adelle said dramatically, wiping away an imaginary tear.
