LYRA'S POV
I sit up quickly when I hear movement. I stand to my feet and hide myself properly behind a huge mass of work. I peep into the empty space and, for the very first time, I'm so excited to see Kymon.
He seems lost, staring at the cave like he's remembering something he doesn't want to remember, and just like most of my time with him, this seems almost too familiar.
He is alone, yet he forced guards to accompany him. I may not be as strong as he is, but I do have the ability to defend myself in some cases. I have never had proper training, but there is this spontaneous energy that races through me when I'm in trouble—not adrenaline but something else.
I leave my shoes behind and approach Kymon stealthily, making sure not to make any sound. When I am right behind him, I waste no time before sending my elbow to the back of his head, and it seems to knock the stares right out of him as he staggers forward and grips his head.
