The dagger had a name: Mercy.
It was a name that Valentius had given the dagger because of whom he used it against.
Two boys who needed it were more than Valentius did. Something that would have protected them if they had it.
Albert told him a story, which made him think Amos also needs Mercy.
More than even Bartolomeo and Bert needed Mercy.
"And he dances for him. Belly dancing, you know the stuff. The horselord danced the women in the harem dance."
Valentius wasn't sure if it was Albert's story to tell, but that didn't mean he would interrupt him.
When people were allowed to babble, they usually gave away gems.
"They say that Wrath beats him up. It is always an unfair fight. Can you imagine someone with a whip and a shield defeating the Axe of No Tomorrow?"
No, Valentius could not. And to think about Amos as someone needing Mercy, but not plunged in his gut, but instead there, by his side, against that axe, was a strange thought.
