Chapter 5 - Isn’t It Pretty Good?

Bai Ningning's expression froze for a moment.

What can I do?

I can do loli, sister type, younger sister type, pure love, JK, giant, swimsuit, cosplay, sports shorts...

A long string of tags from a pink app flashed through Bai Ningning's mind.

"Unfortunately, I don't need anyone to do odd jobs here; I have dedicated servants at home," Qin Yue said, "Their professional skills are much stronger than yours."

Oh, so she was asking about serious work.

Bai Ningning thought seriously for a moment, then coldly said, "PPT."

"What?"

"Proficient in using PPT, Word, and Excel software, and I can barely manage some Adobe office software; I can make spreadsheets and organize logs."

Don't underestimate a fresh graduate; she had part-time jobs every summer and winter vacation.

Qin Yue laughed: "Why can't I find someone more professional to do these things?"

Office clerks or secretarial assistants, if the company puts out a recruitment ad, there would be plenty of graduates from prestigious schools applying.

"They can't always be by your side, right," Bai Ningning said, "And sometimes, like in the evening or morning, if you need something."

Qin Yue scoffed: "What could I possibly need in the evening or morning..."

Wait a minute.

She remembered this morning when she was comfortably trying to continue sleeping, suddenly recalling there was a meeting in the morning, so she forced herself to make a call.

That moment of forcing herself was really too uncomfortable.

At that time, if there had been a secretary beside her to call and notify her about the meeting cancellation, wouldn't she have been able to sleep longer?

"Okay," Qin Yue made a decision, "But this counts as a university student part-time clerical job, the salary won't be high."

Bai Ningning thought it was fine; having a job was good enough, and she should express her gratitude.

"Well, thank you very much."

Qin Yue didn't mind her attitude, just silently noted it down in her little notebook.

Now that things had come to this, was she still afraid of not having anything to clean up?

"To be honest, your working hours are very short, far from a normal part-time job," Qin Yue calculated a bit and said, "So the money in this card counts as your entire salary for next semester, is that okay?"

Once this semester ends, she would immediately have to work for next semester's tuition, which means being locked into this job.

Bai Ningning's expression changed slightly.

Is there such a good thing? She could earn enough for tuition and miscellaneous fees during school, so she wouldn't have to work during the holidays.

"Since you said so, what problem could I have?"

Qin Yue was very satisfied; not only had she gotten the ice-cold beauty she once desired, but she also forced the other party to work for her.

Bai Ningning was also very satisfied; she had smoothly obtained a job that would allow her to earn her tuition and miscellaneous fees.

In her view, the few sentences exchanged earlier were equivalent to a job interview.

Reflecting on the conversation, Bai Ningning felt increasingly good.

Passing a job interview with just a few words—what does that indicate? It shows that her communication skills have improved!

That's great; as long as she pays off the original owner's debts, good days are ahead.

After finishing the conversation, Qin Yue disappeared somewhere. Bai Ningning lay in bed for a while longer, and when her stomach growled, a maid came in with a tray.

A bowl of fragrant fish porridge, several side dishes, and Chinese pastries.

After pushing the tray over, the maid silently stood by, seemingly waiting to clear the dishes after she finished eating.

Bai Ningning suddenly remembered that these maids only worked until evening, and since she was still here and had to wait for her to finish, it meant that tonight... they were working overtime?

For the first time in her life, Bai Ningning felt embarrassed for making someone else work overtime because of her, so she didn't dare to talk to her.

Better to just focus on eating.

The maid watched the girl eat her porridge with her head down, not saying a word, and many thoughts flashed through her mind.

She knew that this girl, who had captured the young lady's heart, used to act the same way when she was dating the young lady, always maintaining her aloof demeanor, making the young lady feel extremely humble.

Fortunately, the young lady had now awakened and regained herself.

Looking at this girl named Bai Ningning, although she still had a proud expression, the maids all knew that she had been tamed by the young lady.

You were so proud, you should be punished; the young lady should use a bit more force next time, really teach her a lesson!

But speaking of which, this girl is really beautiful; no wonder she could captivate the young lady.

......

After leaving home, Qin Yue went to find a friend.

The other party had a profession; she was a psychologist, the one who had been treating her recently.

"Qin Yue, you're here," the thirty-year-old woman in a white coat pulled out a chair, "Sit down, how's it going today?"

Dr. Chen was slightly older than her, and they had known each other since childhood due to family connections. After growing up, one became a psychologist, and the other became a corporate president.

They thought they would have no further interactions, but unexpectedly, Qin Yue went out to date and ended up with a psychological issue.

"Actually, I tried the method you suggested," Qin Yue got straight to the point, "I've already gone through it."

Compensatory psychology, experiencing something that was once unattainable with a firm grip.

Dr. Chen was slightly taken aback: "You... she...?"

"Yes, I brought her back last night."

"…How do you feel today?"

Qin Yue thought for a moment and replied, "I feel great."

She initially wanted to say she felt extremely good but opted for a more polite expression.

Dr. Chen was silent for a while, thought for a long time, and finally smiled, "As long as you feel good, what are your plans next?"

"Plans?"

"Yes, if you've already moved past this shadow, it means you can embrace the next relationship, like dating someone new."

"No need," Qin Yue firmly rejected, "I'm not interested in anyone else."

Dr. Chen was shocked: "You plan to continue dating her?"

Qin Yue shook her head: "Not that either."

Dating Bai Ningning was too painful; it took a lot of effort, yet there was no sweetness to be found.

Last night was the best; Bai Ningning, whom she had pinned down, was the most obedient and good.

"Then you..."

"I think this is good for now," Qin Yue said, "The advice you gave was great; I like that kind of experience."

Dr. Chen broke into a cold sweat: "Wait a minute, the advice I gave is a temporary behavior; it can't go on forever..."

"Why can't it go on forever?" Qin Yue argued, "Since I've found the way that makes me happiest, why seek something further away?"

"But..."

"Let's leave it at that; it's getting late, I should head back," Qin Yue stood up, "See you next time if there are any issues."

"I..."

Watching Qin Yue's graceful figure leave, Dr. Chen was left speechless for a long time.

My dear young lady, you haven't really moved past the shadow at all. If you indulge in this state, other psychological issues will arise in the future!
