===========================
Before Lumine could say anything else, a sudden bang sounded behind her, and the surrounding area fell into silence.
Standing atop the platform, Fuyuan surveyed the gathered crowd. Once he deemed that most of them had arrived, he grasped his spear and struck the floor with a loud thud.
"By order of the Qixing, hear this public decree!"
"The soaring dragon and the prancing qilin, though their lifespans rival the mountains, shall one day turn to dust."
"The Emperor has met his tribulation, his fate bound to the sun and moon! Yet fate shifts as the weather, and thus came the lightning calamity."
"Rumors spread through the harbor, claiming that the Emperor was assassinated—this is false!"
"The Emperor faced a divine tribulation, and his soul has ascended to the heavens. Therefore, let this decree be known to all of Liyue: the people should mourn with restraint and guard their hearts against sorrow."
"Furthermore, do not be deceived by groundless rumors and wild speculation!"
As Fuyuan finished reading, he struck the floor again, then took a deep breath as he gazed at the crowd below.
"The Immortal Lord descended upon the battlefield, subduing the Demon God!"
"However, he had previously been in deep slumber, expending an immense amount of his lordship energy!"
"After delivering the Qixing's divine decree, he has returned to his slumber! Thus, the Immortal Lord remains asleep!"
"Do not be misled by rumors—the Immortal Lord has not fully recovered!"
"Citizens of Liyue, do not panic. Listen to the words of the Qixing, heed the divine guidance of the Adeptus!"
With that final proclamation, the Millelith soldiers finished their announcement and began marching down the streets of Liyue Harbor.
"Heh, failing to transcend a tribulation and this is the excuse they came up with?"
Zhongli remarked with mild embarrassment.
"Well then, let's head to Yujing Terrace."
Qiu Xue turned to Zhongli, speaking casually.
"Mm. Let's go."
Zhongli nodded, and the two began walking toward Yujing Terrace.
Not far away, Lumine and Paimon stood in place, having listened to the Qixing's announcement.
"Ugh… Traveler, can you translate for me?"
"What exactly did the Qixing just say?"
Paimon clutched her head, clearly struggling to understand, before turning to Lumine for help.
"They're saying that the Emperor didn't die from an assassination," Lumine explained calmly.
"They're claiming he died from a divine tribulation instead."
She then continued, placing a hand on her chest,
"And the Immortal Lord hasn't fully recovered either."
"He merely delivered the Qixing's decree and then returned to slumber."
Paimon, looking utterly bewildered, scratched her chin in confusion.
"Wait… the Qixing's explanation turned out like this…?"
"This doesn't feel right. Why would they suddenly give up on finding the real culprit so quickly? And this excuse… it totally sounds like they just made it up on the spot."
She spoke in disbelief, her expression filled with doubt.
"Could it be that the Qixing already know that Rex Lapis isn't actually dead?"
"The Adepti knowing makes sense, but Zhongli clearly said that neither the Qixing nor the Adepti were aware."
"Hmm… could it be that after completing the transaction for the Gnosis, Zhongli secretly told them?"
Paimon placed a hand on her chin, analyzing the situation calmly.
"Hmm… that does make sense."
"For once, I actually think Paimon guess is spot on."
Lumine chuckled as she looked at Paimon serious expression.
"What do you mean 'for once'?!"
"Paimon guesses are always spot on!"
Paimon stomped her foot in frustration.
"But the Rite of Parting seems to have been going on for quite a while now."
"We should hurry over before it ends."
Paimon reminded the Traveler, looking a bit anxious.
Lumine nodded and quickly made her way toward Yujing Terrace, with Paimon following close behind.
By the time they arrived, a crowd had already gathered around the terrace. In the center stood Ningguang, Keqing, and Ganyu.
Among the onlookers, Lumine and Paimon spotted some familiar faces—Madam Ping, Ying'er, Shitou, Qiu Xue, and Zhongli.
Paimon excitedly waved toward Qiu Xue and Zhongli, prompting Lumine to follow her over.
"Qiu Xue! Zhongli!"
"We're not too late, are we?"
Lumine asked as she approached them.
"Hmm… not early, but not too late either."
Qiu Xue pressed a finger against her red lips and smiled at Lumine and Paimon.
The four of them then turned their attention toward Ningguang, Keqing, and Ganyu, who stood at the center of Yujing Terrace.
"Oh, it's Ningguang and Keqing. What are they saying? Is the ceremony almost over?"
Paimon curiously watched as Ningguang addressed the crowd.
"As was just stated, the Emperor's soul has ascended to the heavens, and the Immortal Lord, having vanquished the Demon God, expended an immense amount of adeptal energy and has entered a deep slumber."
"This marks not only the severance of a contract, but also the end of an era."
Ningguang placed a hand over her chest as she spoke, her gaze sweeping across the gathered citizens.
"A fragrance that has burned for 3,700 years… in the end, it has turned to ash."
Shitou sighed, waving his hand with a hint of sorrow in his voice.
Ying'er, standing nearby, turned her gaze toward the Traveler and Qiu Xue.
"The people of Liyue were once truly happy."
"And in those joyous times, we forgot the cruelty of passing time."
Ningguang voice carried a trace of sadness as she continued addressing the crowd.
"The long dream of the land blessed by gods… stretching on endlessly…"
Ying'er held her chest as she spoke, her words tinged with melancholy as she looked at Ningguang.
Beside her, Madam Ping sighed deeply.
"But when the dream ends, people must learn to bid farewell."
"Now that the contract is to be renewed… will you all give your blessings to the new era to come?"
Ningguang looked around at the sorrowful people surrounding her, then spoke firmly, her tone carrying the promise of a more prosperous future for Liyue.
"With that, the Tianquan's address comes to an end."
She turned to Keqing as Ganyu gently asked, "Yuheng, do you have anything to add?"
Keqing seemed to be searching for something or someone, before her gaze landed in the direction of Qiu Xue and the others.
"She seems to be looking our way," Paimon said, patting Lumine.
Keqing then took a step forward and approached them.
"Traveler."
She looked at Lumine and the group, addressing her directly.
"W-Whoa! She really is looking at us!" Paimon gasped, covering her mouth in surprise.
"So that's the traveler who helped Liyue repel the ancient god?"
"So young…"
The surrounding citizens murmured amongst themselves as they observed Lumine standing before Keqing.
Keqing placed a hand over her chest and spoke with sincerity.
"Liyue Qixing always repays its debts, and as you may have heard, our reach extends to all corners of the land."
"Tell me what reward you desire, for it is something you rightfully deserve."
"Wow…!"
Paimon stomped her foot excitedly at the mention of a reward, her eyes sparkling.
Lumine glanced around, noticing that Ying'er and Qiu Xue were both smiling and nodding at her.
After a brief moment, she turned back to Keqing and said, "Then, please help me put up a few missing person notices."
Keqing seemed slightly surprised by the simplicity of the request but nodded.
"Understood. I will have the Millelith post them all around Liyue Harbor and the surrounding areas."
"Give me the person's description and appearance when you're ready, and I will ensure the task is carried out."
