Chapter 3 - Vow of Love?

As the fog around us started to fade, I promised myself I would embrace this love. Amour was more than just a pretty face; she was someone I felt connected to in a way that was hard to explain. And as she smiled at me, I knew I was ready to go on this amazing adventure with her. I took a deep breath, feeling the magic of the moment wrap around us like a cozy blanket. "What happens now?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.

Amour's eyes sparkled as she stepped back slightly, her gaze never leaving mine. "Now, we explore the bond we share," she said softly. "You have so much to learn about love and about us."

I felt a flutter of excitement in my stomach. "Like what?" I asked, curious.

She smiled, and it felt like sunshine breaking through the clouds. "Like the stories of our past, the adventures we had, and the love that still lingers between us. We'll uncover the truth together."

As she spoke, the fog around us began to lift completely, revealing a starry sky that seemed to twinkle just for us. It felt like the universe was cheering us on.

I couldn't help but grin. "I want to know everything!" I exclaimed, feeling a surge of bravery. "I want to know about our adventures and how you've waited for me."

Amour nodded, her expression warm and encouraging. "Then let's start our journey," she said, holding out her hand to me. "Together, we'll uncover the magic that brought us back together."

I took her hand, feeling a rush of warmth and comfort and Started Walking and Talking.

I kept sneaking glances at her—this girl who felt so familiar but was still a stranger to me.

"So... you live around here?" I asked awkwardly, trying to break the silence. It felt like such a basic question, but I didn't know where else to start.

Curling her hair around her finger, still looking a bit shy, she said "Yeah, just a little further up the hill and the clouds it's called– The Cloud Mill Station," she replied, her voice soft, like she wasn't quite sure what to say either. "You?"

"Not far," I mumbled, feeling the weight of the moment. "It's strange though, I feel like... I don't know, like we've met before or something."

She smiled a little, glancing at me quickly before looking back at the ground. "You were not even born then," she admitted. "That's why you don't remember ever seeing me."

We both went quiet again, but the silence didn't feel as heavy this time. It was like we were both trying to figure out why this felt different. Why walking next to her felt almost... right. Even though I had no idea who she really was. But still; I had a bit of love towards her, like she had 50% of that love for me. But it was clear that she loved me more than I did. So, I promised myself to return the same amount of Love even though we have just met. It really felt like an ugly man got an opportunity to be loved and he said yes and that's me!

I offered her to come over to my home, and surprisingly, she agreed. So, we walked together, heading toward my place.

"So… do you always walk around here?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

She smiled slightly, looking ahead. "Not really. I was just out for some fresh air tonight. It's a bit peaceful around here, don't you think?"

I nodded, kicking a small stone out of the way. "Yeah, it is. I don't usually see many people this late, though. It's kinda rare."

She tilted her head, her hair falling softly over her shoulder. "Maybe we were both meant to walk this way tonight."

I chuckled, feeling a bit more relaxed. "Maybe. It's funny how things work out sometimes."

"For as long as I can remember," I said with a shrug. "It's a quiet life, but sometimes it gets a bit lonely, you know?"

She looked over at me for a second, her expression softening. "I get that. Sometimes I feel the same way, even when I'm around people."

I glanced at her, curious. "Yeah? How come?"

She hesitated for a moment before answering. "It's like… you can be surrounded by people and still feel alone if there's no real connection."

I nodded, understanding what she meant. "Yeah, I get that."

We finally reached my home. I fumbled in my pocket for the key, unlocked the door, and pushed it open. "Come in," I said, smiling at Amour.

She stepped inside, looking around. "Your house looks so clean," she said, a hint of surprise in her voice. "Do you live alone?"

I nodded, closing the door behind us. "Yeah, it's just me here," I replied, feeling a bit self-conscious about how neat everything was. "I guess I like keeping things tidy. Makes it feel less... empty, you know?"

Amour nodded, her eyes scanning the room again. I glanced at the clock and said, "Time passed away so fast... it's already 4:30 AM."

Suddenly, Amour's expression changed. She looked scared, her eyes wide with panic. "What! It's too fast!" she exclaimed, her voice shaky. "The sun's going to come up soon!"

"Oh? Are you scared of the sun?" I asked, confused by her sudden fear.

"Not really," she replied, her voice soft but serious. "The thing is... it's something weird."

"Tell me, I'll hear," I said, trying to reassure her. "There's nothing to be scared of."

She sighed, looking a bit uneasy. "It's like... whenever the sun rays come up, I just vanish. Vanish into the clouds and get pulled back to my home."

"Oh, is that the problem?" I asked, a bit surprised.

"That's it," she said, nodding, her voice quiet but steady.

And that was true! As the clock struck 7 and the sun began to rise, I watched in disbelief as she started fading.

"Don't fade away!" I said sorrowfully, reaching out to her.

"Don't worry, dear," she replied gently. "I'll come back tomorrow night to see you."Till then, farewell," she said, her voice fading like her image.

"I'll be waiting for you," I promised, my heart aching.

And then, just like that, she disappeared into the morning light. And guess what happened next?

I woke up!

COULD IT ALL HAVE BEEN JUST A DREAM?
