Chapter 9 - I will destroy the world.

The sky churned, clouds swallowing the moon in a suffocating abyss. The air smelled of blood, steel, and something far fouler the promise of death.

Karban, Erika, Ralf, and the soldiers locked eyes on their prey. Veythor stood in the center, battered, bleeding, yet calm. His crimson eyes gleamed with something terrifyingly alive.

Ralf's voice thundered. "No more delays! Kill him! Now!"

The battlefield erupted.

Fifteen meters Ralf charged first, boots pounding against wet soil. Erika followed, hands twisting in the air razor-sharp ice spears forming around her. Four warriors from Karban's tribe advanced, their hesitation drowned in war cries.

Ten meters—

Ralf raised his hand. "Divine Light!" A blinding explosion hot, searing, absolute.

Veythor moved. Not a second wasted. He kicked off the ground, body twisting away as light scorched the air where he had stood. A fraction slower, and his flesh would've melted.

A giant burst forward, earth magic rippling from his fists. "Storm of Rocks!" A dozen boulders ripped from the ground hurtling straight for Veythor.

Seven meters—

Erika's ice spears shrieked through the air, locking him in from the other side.

Veythor's eyes flashed. No escape? Watch.

His fingers clenched. "Wrath of Sun."

Flames exploded. White-hot fire consumed the boulders mid-air, reduced them to nothing. Ice met heat melted, shattered, died.

Five meters—

Ralf closed in. His blade whipped downward, a strike meant to split Veythor in two.

Veythor sidestepped—barely. Pain screamed through his body, but he ignored it. His knee snapped up, targeting Ralf's mouth.

Ralf blocked. Bare hands. The impact threw him back, sending him crashing against a tree. Leaves rained down. The world spun.

Two meter—

A female warrior lunged. Wind magic surged through her sword. A single, deadly throw. Veythor had no choice. His left arm jerked up. The sword pierced through his palm. Bone split. Flesh tore. Agony.

Blood dripped.

He didn't scream. He didn't flinch.

His mind drifted for a moment

"Pain was a tool Shock was a weapon let them believe they had wounded me.

He moved.

Before the woman could react, he ripped the sword free threw it back a perfect arc a final second. The blade buried itself in her forehead.

Crack.

Her skull split. Blood burst in a gruesome spray. She crumpled. Lifeless.

Silence.

Then—

"You monster!" Erika's scream cut through the night.

Veythor's mind drifted again

"Grief a useless emotion. I killed a mere tribe woman a warrior, not her lover Yet, in war or even at normal time what's the difference human or animals, demons or even just a mere tree it's all same to me if someone stands in my way of destroying the world I will kill them mercilessly, ruthlessly and brutally even if it's a deity it doesn't matter?

Another warrior lost himself to rage.

"Yaldaaaa, noooo it can't be! My sister YOU FUCKING BASTARD!"

He threw something. A green glass bottle.

Veythor's eyes narrowed

acid?

His body snapped sideways the bottle shattered against the ground, sizzling as it ate through dirt.

The warrior lunged with a spear, eyes wild with vengeance.

Veythor caught his wrist twisted.

Pop.

The man screamed. His spear clattered to the ground.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Veythor didn't hesitate. His bloodied fingers curled fire igniting at his fingertips.

He thrust his hand forward. Straight through the warrior's chest.Flesh split bone shattered a gasp.Veythor's fingers wrapped around something warm,Beating, pulsing.

The man's heart

Rip.

Veythor tore it out. It pulsed once twice before crushing into pulp between his fingers.

The body collapsed a breath a pause the battlefield held still.

Erika's voice, raw, shaking.

"You traitors."

The remaining Erika's soldiers trembled. The storm overhead rumbled, as if the heavens themselves recoiled from the carnage they knew veythor was a man they wouldn't be able to handle so they escaped.

But Veythor?

He simply stood Bleeding,Unshaken,Unbroken And still alive.
