Chapter 18 - 18. A Silent Execution

As Wang Feng shot toward the two of them, Lin Shan and Elder Mo still hadn't recovered from the shock caused by Wang Feng's power.

They didn't understand.

Why was a mere Spirit Master at level 20 completely unharmed after that attack?

And how did he break free from Elder Mo's Radiance skill?

But before they could even begin to process the answers to these questions, Wang Feng was already upon them.

In a flash, moving as fast as golden lightning, Wang Feng appeared right behind Elder Mo.

"Huh?!" Elder Mo couldn't even react in time.

"This is the end for you!" Wang Feng shouted as he swung his palm—now crackling with golden lightning—straight into Elder Mo's back!

BOOM!

Elder Mo's body was sent flying violently, crashing through several trees before finally slamming into the ground. He lay there, gasping for air, his breathing ragged.

Wang Feng stood still, his eyes as cold as ice.

Lin Shan, witnessing the scene, was frozen in place, his body trembling with fear.

Wang Feng's gaze turned to Lin Shan, who was nearby. Without a word, he reached out and grabbed Lin Shan by the throat, lifting him effortlessly into the air.

Lin Shan struggled, both hands desperately clawing at Wang Feng's arm, but the grip was far too strong.

"Ugh... L-Let me go!" Lin Shan's voice was hoarse, his face turning red from lack of oxygen.

Wang Feng stared at him with a chilling gaze, golden lightning still crackling all around his body.

"You and that old servant tried to kill me... Now it's your turn to feel fear." His voice was calm, but it carried a deadly undertone that made Lin Shan tremble even more.

He never expected things to end like this.

At first, he believed that with Elder Mo protecting him, he would never be in danger.

But he never imagined they would cross paths with this man. Because of him, their plan was completely destroyed.

As Wang Feng tightened his grip on Lin Shan's throat, the man kept struggling, trying to free himself. But the more he resisted, the tighter Wang Feng's grasp became.

Lin Shan felt his lungs burning, the remaining oxygen in his body depleting fast. His eyes bulged, his face turned bluish, and his breath came out in weak, raspy gasps.

"You shouldn't have tried to kill me," Wang Feng said coldly, his voice devoid of emotion. "Now... face the consequences."

Then, with a sudden and brutal motion—

CRACK!

Wang Feng crushed Lin Shan's throat with terrifying force!

The sound of bones breaking echoed in the air.

Lin Shan's body, which had been thrashing moments ago, now went completely limp.

His eyes stared blankly, mouth agape in silent horror.

Wang Feng let the body drop to the ground without a shred of pity.

Lin Shan—who once thought he was untouchable with Elder Mo by his side—was now nothing more than a lifeless corpse at Wang Feng's feet.

Without wasting a moment, Wang Feng turned his gaze toward Elder Mo—the next target.

Elder Mo lay on the ground, his body trembling violently, gasping for breath.

Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, his chest still aching from Wang Feng's earlier strike.

His hate-filled eyes locked onto Wang Feng, who was calmly walking toward him.

"Y-You bastard..." Elder Mo tried to speak, but his voice was barely a whisper.

Wang Feng didn't respond.

He crouched beside Elder Mo and stared at him with eyes as cold as death—like he was looking at a worthless insect.

"From the start, you never had a chance."

With swift movement, Wang Feng reached for his belt and pulled out a sharp dagger—a weapon he had taken from the two mercenaries he saved earlier.

Elder Mo flinched, his eyes widening at the glint of the blade.

"Wait...! We can talk—"

SLASH!

With a single swift and unhesitating slash, Wang Feng decapitated Elder Mo.

Blood sprayed violently, staining the ground a deep red. Elder Mo's head hit the earth with a dull thud, his eyes still wide open, as if unable to believe that his life had ended in an instant.

Wang Feng stared at the now-headless body for a few seconds before standing up and calmly wiping his dagger clean.

"It's over."

The lightning that had crackled around him gradually faded, leaving behind only the lingering aura of overwhelming dominance.

Huff.

Wang Feng let out a deep breath, exhaling slowly. His gaze swept over the ruined battlefield—the aftermath of a fierce fight. The ground was cracked, trees had been toppled, and the air was still thick with dust and the metallic scent of spilled blood.

He turned his attention to the three mercenaries lying unconscious nearby. With minimal effort, Wang Feng gathered them into one place, ensuring none of them were fatally injured.

"Now, what should I do with them?" Wang Feng murmured quietly, slightly unsure.

Kill them? Pointless. After all, they were just following orders.

Let them go? That could create trouble later.

As he continued weighing his options, one of the mercenaries—the captain—suddenly let out a faint groan, a sign of waking up. His eyelids twitched, and his breathing began to stabilize.

Seeing this, Wang Feng made a quick decision. There was no point in lingering here. If the captain regained full consciousness and started asking questions, it would only complicate things.

Without hesitation, Wang Feng turned and walked away.

Not long after Wang Feng disappeared from the area, the mercenary captain's eyes slowly opened. His vision was still blurry, but he could feel the cold ground beneath his body. With weak limbs, he struggled to sit up, trying to recall what had just happened.

"Ugh... Damn it, what the hell happened?" he muttered weakly.

As his awareness returned, he saw his two subordinates still lying unconscious. His expression darkened. As far as he remembered, they had been sleeping—and then suddenly, their client, a noble lady, and her old servant had attacked them.

Damn it! What the hell actually happened back there!?

Why did the noble suddenly turn on them!?

And where did she disappear to!?

"But first, we need to get out of here. It's dangerous to stay in this forest overnight in our current condition."

The captain began shaking his men awake. "Hey, get up, you idiot!! You want to be eaten by wild beasts out here?! If you want to die, don't drag me with you—just die on your own!!"

The two subordinates jolted awake, their faces still filled with confusion.

"Captain... What happened? Why are we—"

"No time for questions! We're leaving now!" the captain snapped urgently.

Even though they were still half-conscious, the two mercenaries understood that their captain wasn't the kind of man to panic without reason. Quickly, they pushed themselves up, despite their bodies still feeling weak.

Without wasting another moment, they began moving out of the forest.

Even though fatigue weighed heavily on them, all three forced themselves to keep going.
