Chapter 14 - Raiding Dracula's castle(chapter 14)

Chapter 14

Levi's battle reached its climax. The European vampire rushed him, faster and stronger than before — but Levi was ready. "Oh magic," he intoned, his voice calm even now. "Release a holy tempest." The air exploded with light. Spears of radiant energy rained down from the ceiling, and the European vampire screamed as they impaled him from all sides. He staggered forward, his body burning with holy fire — and Levi finished it with a thrust of his spear, driving the weapon through the vampire's heart. The creature crumbled to ash, and silence fell.

For a moment, they stood there, breathing heavily, their bodies aching and their magic drained. But the respite didn't last. The ground trembled. From the far end of the hall, a massive iron gate burst open — and the night creatures poured in. Twisted, monstrous forms with glowing eyes and gnashing teeth flooded toward them, howling in rage and hunger. "I'll handle my father's pets," Alucard said, stepping forward with calm determination. His golden sword hovered beside him, ready. "The rest of you — stay alive." He moved. And the real battle began.

The night creatures surged forward, a wave of teeth, claws, and rage. Their shrieks filled the air, bouncing off the stone walls, a cacophony of madness and violence. Trevor cracked the Morning Star with a snap, its holy light flaring as it coiled and whipped through the air. Sypha's hands danced, already summoning fire and ice, while Levi stood still — too still — his eyes closed, his magic gathering like a storm on the horizon. "Trevor! Left!" Sypha shouted.

Trevor didn't hesitate. He twisted just as a hulking night creature lunged — a grotesque hybrid of wolf and bat, its wings too large for its body, its jaws lined with rows of jagged teeth. The Morning Star lashed out, wrapping around its throat. Trevor pulled hard, and the creature's head snapped to the side with a sickening crack before it crumbled into dust. "I know!" Trevor shot back, but his words were lost as three more creatures took its place.

Sypha didn't give them the chance. "Ignis!" she roared, and a wall of fire erupted in front of her, halting the charge of the night creatures. They shrieked as flames licked at their bodies, but they pushed forward through the blaze, driven by fury. Sypha's eyes narrowed. She spread her hands, and the fire shifted — turning into jagged spears of molten rock. With a flick of her wrists, the spears shot forward, impaling the night creatures one after another. But there were too many. "Levi!" Sypha called, her voice strained. "Anytime now!" Levi's eyes snapped open — and they glowed. His voice was calm and commanding. "Oh magic," he intoned, the air vibrating with power, "unleash holy judgment."

The stone floor beneath them cracked and glowed. Runes spread out in a circle, brilliant and intricate — and then they erupted. Pillars of golden light shot up from the ground, spearing night creatures where they stood. Their screams turned to howls of agony as their bodies burned and disintegrated, holy energy consuming them utterly. The room was bathed in radiance, the stench of ash and charred flesh filling the air. But it wasn't enough. More kept coming. Trevor was already moving, the Morning Star a blur. He fought with brutal efficiency — one moment the weapon cracked through a creature's skull, the next it wrapped around a leg and sent its victim crashing into the others. Blood splattered his face, but he didn't slow down. A winged beast dove at him from above — and Trevor spun, launching a silver dagger into its eye. It crashed to the ground at his feet, and he stomped its head into paste. "Sypha, on your right!" he warned. She was faster. A stream of ice shot from her fingertips, freezing the lunging creature midair. "Fulmen!" she shouted, and lightning arced from her hands, shattering the frozen beast into shards.

But the tide wasn't stopping. A massive night creature burst from the crowd — a towering, ogre-like thing with glowing red eyes and gnarled horns. It roared, charging Sypha with terrifying speed. Levi stepped in its path. His voice was soft, but the magic was absolute. "Oh magic, shatter my enemy." The air rippled. A single bolt of holy light shot forward — thin, almost delicate — and pierced the creature's chest. For a heartbeat, nothing happened. Then the night creature exploded, reduced to nothing but glowing ash.

"Showoff," Trevor grunted. Levi grinned. "Like you wont do the same." Their moment of levity was short-lived. From the far end of the hall, the ground burst upward as an enormous night creature emerged — a serpent-like beast, covered in obsidian scales, with a face that split open into a mass of writhing tentacles. Its hiss was a sound of pure malice, and it began slithering toward them with terrifying speed. "Sypha," trevor said, his voice low. "We're going to need something big."

Sypha's eyes narrowed. "Then keep them off me." Trevor cracked the Morning Star. "You heard the lady." The battle raged on. Levi's magic flared, his holy light striking down creature after creature, while Trevor fought with relentless brutality. Sypha's hands moved in intricate patterns, her magic gathering, the temperature around her plummeting as ice and lightning coalesced. The serpent-beast drew closer, its tentacles writhing, the ground shaking beneath its bulk. And when Sypha finally unleashed her spell, the world erupted in fire and frost, killing the remaining nightcreatures.

So they decided to chase after Alucard, encountering littered corpses on their way until they finally arrived, just as Alucard said to his father, "This time I am not alone." Levi resisted the urge to call him dramatic as he remained silent, observing the most powerful vampire. He was tall, very tall, draped in a dark cloak with red accents. He had long, lush black hair and a black beard on his chin, and his eyes were blood red. He looked at the four as Alucard attacked with his sword, driving Dracula into the wall, but Alucard's sword did no damage as Dracula caught it with his fingers with no problem.

He then walked — simply, he walked forward — pushing Alucard back, who withdrew his sword and attacked again, this time slashing diagonally, only for Dracula to catch it and then backhand Alucard into the vampire pit. Trevor's hand moved to his Morning Star, only to get slammed out of the room into a wall. Sypha attacked Dracula with magic, spewing fire at him, but Dracula used his cloak to shield himself from the flames before he attacked Sypha. She managed to conjure an ice block to take the force from most of the blow, but she still got injured and was sent tumbling. Suddenly, a screech could be heard as Dracula's face was scratched by the talons of a bird made of holy energy.
