As the girls prepared for bed, Bella approached the remaining girls she had been housed with. "Do you guys know where they took the other girls?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The girls she had befriended in the container had been taken to another place when they arrived at the shore of Greenwood. Bella had been separated from them, and now she was left with these new girls.
The girls exchanged nervous glances before shaking their heads. "No, we haven't seen them since we got here," one of them replied.
Bella's eyes widened with fear as she realized the truth. They were all alone, with no one to trust.
The girls started questioning themselves, their voices laced with anxiety. "Are we safe here?" one of them asked.
"I don't know," another girl replied. "Madam Rose said we would be making money, but I don't know what that means."
Bella felt a surge of fear. She knew that she had to escape, but she didn't know how.
She considered approaching Madam Rose or the other girls, but she was afraid of the consequences. What if they didn't believe her? What if they punished her?
The other girls seemed to sense her hesitation. "Don't even think about it, Bella," one of them warned. "If you ask too many questions, you'll bring problems to us and yourself."
Bella retreated to her bed, her mind racing with thoughts and fears. She couldn't sleep, her eyes wide with anxiety as she thought about what lay ahead.
She wished she had listened to her father, who had warned her about the dangers of the city. But she had been stubborn, determined to make a life for herself.
Now, she realized that her decision had been a mistake. She was trapped, with no way out.
As the tears streamed down her face, Bella covered herself with her blanket, feeling helpless and alone. She knew that she had to escape, but she didn't know how.
The night wore on, and Bella's fears only grew. She knew that she was running out of time, and that she had to act soon.
But for now, she was trapped, forced to wait and wonder what the future held.
