Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Uncovering the Past

Bella smiled warmly at the girls, feeling a deep sense of responsibility to protect them. "I will protect you," she said, trying to reassure them.

She could see the fear and uncertainty in their eyes, and she knew that she had to be patient and gentle with them.

She then asked, "What are your names?" The girls looked at each other, and one by one, they introduced themselves. "I'm Lisa," said the eldest, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm Bianca," said the middle child, her eyes sparkling with a hint of curiosity. And the youngest, with her bright blond hair, said "I'm Bonita," her voice full of excitement.

Bella smiled, "Nice names," and chuckled. "I'm also called Bella." She looked at the girls, taking in their fragile beauty. They were white, with Bonita's blond hair standing out against Lisa's and Bianca's dark locks. They were beautiful, and Bella couldn't help but wonder what their story was.

She asked them, "Where do you come from?" But the girls looked at each other uncertainly, and in unison, they said, "We don't remember." Bella's heart went out to them. They were so young, and they had already been through so much.

She knew that she had to be patient and help them uncover their past. She smiled gently and said, "It's okay, we'll figure it out together. For now, let's just focus on staying safe and taking care of each other." The girls nodded, and Bella could see the fear and uncertainty in their eyes begin to fade.

They were starting to trust her, and she was determined to do everything in her power to protect them. As they settled in for the night, Bella couldn't help but wonder what the future held for them. Would they ever find out who they were and where they came from? And would they ever be able to escape the danger that lurked in the shadows?

Only time would tell. But for now, Bella was determined to keep them safe, no matter what it took. She looked around their makeshift shelter, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. They had built a safe haven, and they would stay here until they figured out their next move.

As the night wore on, Bella kept watch, listening for any signs of danger. The girls slept fitfully, their dreams no doubt haunted by the memories of their past. But Bella was there, watching over them, protecting them from harm.

As the hours passed, Bella's thoughts turned to Simon and his crew. She knew that they would be looking for them, and she was determined to stay one step ahead. She thought about their next move, wondering where they could go to stay safe.

And then, just as she was starting to drift off to sleep, Bella heard a noise. It was faint, but it sounded like footsteps, crunching through the underbrush. Bella's heart skipped a beat as she sat up, her senses on high alert.

She looked around, trying to locate the source of the noise. And then, she saw a figure emerging from the darkness. Bella's instincts kicked in, and she quickly woke up the girls, whispering urgently, "We have to go, now."
