Bella's hug was warm and tight, and Jr felt his heart swell with emotion. She pulled back, her eyes shining with tears, and said, "Thank you so much, Jr."
Jr's fingers brushed against her cheeks, and he kissed her eyes, his voice low and soothing. "It's okay, my love. I have to provide for you."
Bella's smile was radiant, and she took Jr's hand, leading him to the girls. They were bubbling with excitement, eager to show Jr all the things they had bought.
As Jr sat down with them, they began to unwrap their gifts, squealing with delight at each new discovery. Jr laughed, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and the girls giggled, their faces aglow with happiness.
Bonita, who had been quietly observing the scene, suddenly spoke up. "Let me plait your hair, Mr. Handsome!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Jr chuckled, and Bonita began to play with his hair, laughing and giggling as she worked. The sound of their laughter echoed through the house, and in the kitchen, the butler and Mrs. White couldn't help but smile.
Mrs. White turned to the butler, her eyes curious. "What's the story behind those girls?" she asked, her voice low.
The butler hesitated, his expression serious. "I don't know, Mrs. White. But what I do know is that they've been staying in Jr's forest for months, alone."
Mrs. White's eyes widened in shock, her mouth hanging open. "What?" she exclaimed, her voice barely above a whisper.
The butler nodded, his expression grim. "Yes, ma'am. One of the guards mentioned it to me. They've been living in the forest, fending for themselves."
Mrs. White's face was pale, her eyes filled with concern. "Those poor children," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
As the evening wore on, Jr and the girls continued to laugh and play, their faces aglow with happiness. But beneath the surface, Jr knew that there was still much work to be done. They had to uncover the truth behind the girls' past, and bring those responsible to justice.
And as he looked at Bella, who was smiling at him with tears in her eyes, Jr knew that he would stop at nothing to protect her and the girls. They were his family now, and he would do everything in his power to keep them safe.
