Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Have You Figured Out How You Want to Die?

Several prisoners running at the front exchanged glances, nodded, and glared fiercely at Minotaurus Zebra blocking their way. They accelerated, rushing towards the Jailer Beast.

"Die!"

"Get out of the way! Move it!"

The only usable weapons, large wooden logs, had already been shattered to pieces along the way. Several prisoners leaped into the air, their bodies soaring higher than Minotaurus Zebra's height, their massive fists crashing down towards him.

Minotaurus Zebra stared straight at the descending figures of the prisoners. Even facing the imminent attack, his expression remained stiff, not even his eyelids moving.

Until the moment the prisoners' attacks were about to land...

"Boom!" A whirlwind suddenly erupted. Minotaurus Zebra, who had been motionless, opened his eyes, a terrifying killing intent swirling within them.

"Whoosh!"

His twisted body, like a fully drawn bow, sprang forth. The enormous spiked mace in his hand moved, stirring up a powerful gust of wind as it smashed into the prisoners. Time seemed to stop. The prisoners' eyes bulged, their bodies flew backwards, the airflow mixed with blood forming a crimson stream.

"Bang!" Wood splinters flew everywhere. The prisoners, moving faster than they had approached, crashed into the bridge railing, not even having time to scream.

"Hiss..." A breath escaped Minotaurus Zebra's nose. His massive body stood there, expression stiff, his narrow eyes unwavering. But he weighed on everyone's hearts like a towering mountain.

"Tap tap tap!"

As everyone fell silent, a fit figure stepped forward, his face grim, charging towards Minotaurus Zebra.

"You bastard...!" A furious roar exploded from Vice's mouth.

"Whoosh!" He leaped high into the air, his terrifying speed erupting. His fist smashed down instantly!

"Boom!" A sound like a cannonball exploding rang out. Vice's eyes were bloodshot, his fist bloodied. He glared fiercely at Minotaurus Zebra.

But his fist couldn't advance another inch. Blocking his punch was the spiked mace, larger than his head. Minotaurus Zebra stared at Vice expressionlessly, not even taking a step back.

Vice's furious strike seemed like a joke.

"Hey! How long do you plan on staying here?"

Wilder, watching this scene, was expressionless, though his face had darkened. He turned and shouted at the prisoners behind him.

The prisoners, startled by Wilder's voice, snapped out of it and continued charging forward.

"Damn it! Get out of the way!"

"Charge!"

Everyone knew that the worst thing to do was stop. Only by breaking through could they seize that slim chance of survival. Otherwise, caught between enemies in front and behind, they would be picked off one by one, a dead end.

No one would be foolish enough to do that. The terror of the Jailer Beasts was already deeply ingrained in the hearts of those in the Blazing Hell. So... with so many people, if they just dispersed and charged, they would definitely succeed. Those who were stopped could only blame their bad luck, no one else.

"Hiss!" The remaining two Jailer Beasts also moved, standing side-by-side on the bridge: Minorhinoceros and Minokoala. Together with Minotaurus Zebra, the three behemoths blocked the middle. Of course, Vice was among them, though he was blocked by Minotaurus Zebra.

"Hiss!" Taking advantage of the moment, Minokoala glanced left and right, then quickly pulled out a handful of leaves from the pouch on his left hip and stuffed them into the unsuspecting Minorhinoceros's mouth.

"Mmmph...!" Minorhinoceros's eyes widened in terror and panic, struggling desperately, but Minokoala held his mouth shut tightly.

Minotaurus Zebra, standing nearby, glanced at the two, then turned back to stare at Vice.

The power struggle was completely one-sided. Minotaurus Zebra stood motionless, while Vice's hand, pushing against the mace, trembled violently.

Sweat dripped from his chin. Vice gritted his teeth, his expression extremely serious. He felt his fist going numb, and the force transmitted from the mace seemed to be growing, pushing his body backwards.

"Aaargh!" Vice couldn't help but roar, his strength failing.

"Hiss..." At that moment, Minotaurus Zebra's narrow eyes opened again. He had seized his chance!

The massive mace hadn't even moved yet, but a strong whirlwind had already blown up.

"Whoosh!"

The mace, held high above his head, swung down towards the already exhausted Vice. Air surged, and the swift attack landed.

"Boom!"

A muffled sound. Wilder, his face grim, appeared above Minotaurus Zebra out of nowhere. His right leg swept through the air, kicking Minotaurus Zebra squarely in the cheek.

Minotaurus Zebra's body was forced to bend to the right. His cheek, under Wilder's foot, twisted and deformed, a deep footprint caving in. The blow originally aimed at Vice, due to Wilder's interference, slammed into the bridge instead.

"I'm saved?" Vice snapped back to reality, stunned.

But quickly, his expression changed. "Look out!"

Just as he spoke, Minotaurus Zebra, who was almost falling, somehow managed to straighten his body. The whistling mace swept across in a black blur, smashing directly towards Wilder!

"Boom!" Wilder's body was instantly blasted into scattered swamp, flying backwards.

"Boss!" Vice's pupils contracted, shouting anxiously. He scrambled to his feet and ran towards where Wilder's body had crashed.

But in an instant, a black shadow loomed over him. Minotaurus Zebra had appeared behind him, holding the mace, his eyes bloodshot.

His pupils contracted to their limits. A dangerous, needle-like sensation pricked Vice's skin. Almost without thinking, he leaped to the side.

"Boom!" The massive mace slammed into the bridge, the sound deafening, fragments of stone flying everywhere.

"Ugh!" Vice spat out a mouthful of blood. Even though he had dodged quickly, he hadn't expected to be grazed by the mace on his back.

The massive mace was raised again. Minotaurus Zebra, taking heavy steps, approached Vice, towering over him, the shadow of the mace enveloping Vice's body.

"Nyehehehe... Well, I guess I'll play with you for a bit." A low chuckle suddenly sounded from behind Minotaurus Zebra. Wilder's grim face was twisted into a suppressed smile.

His mood was very bad, very bad indeed.

From the beginning, things had been spiraling out of his control. So... next, getting everything back on track was one thing, but most importantly, this big guy in front of him was making him very unhappy.

"Have you figured out how you want to die, big guy?" He raised his head, his ferocious, cruel expression no longer suppressed.
