Chapter 9 - 9. Who are you?

In the great commotion, Rahul soon found out that Citar and his new friends had somehow persuaded him to mount Fehérló and face another competition. Although he isn't known for showing off his knowledge, he has decided that he will do everything in his power not to embarrass himself in front of all the people of Madüjawr. Morever, he also had a sense of self, which stated that it wouldn't do him any good if he made a bad impression on everyone the first time they see him.

However, a very simple thing almost put an end to his plans. When he got on Fehérló's back and led the horse into the arena, he had to realize that it was fine as long as he just had to control the horse, but how could he use a bow too?! What kind of wizard should he be? He had no idea, but nevertheless he raised his bow and, although with a trembling hand, aimed at one target. The first round was just a warm-up, but he missed all of his first three shots.

"Well! Relax! You can't shoot with such tension." Rahul heard Etele's voice behind him. "Now, pay attention to everything, because I'll show you how to do it just once." The ghost continued to say what it had to say, then fell silent as Rahul felt a bone-chilling cold, like the last time the ghost took over Rahul's body. The young adventurer felt himself raise his arms, the bow tensed in his hands, he took a deep breath. There was no need to control the white horse, the horse knew exactly where and how to go, as if it moved together with Rahul, who, with the help of his spirit relative, shot the first arrow, which mattered in the competition, and to his greatest surprise, the shot was perfect.

"Well, this is how it should be done! Leave the road to Fehérló, you just aim and shoot!" He received the order from Etele, and he smiled and nodded just a little.

"Alright, now get out of my back." The boy chuckled, with which he managed to get the ghost to disappear from behind him. Thus, he was able to finish the competition alone, and by the time he shot the last arrow, he was already getting into it and was saddened that he had to stop. Still, what could be done, he gave his place to the next competitor and left the arena on Fehérló's back. Then, after reaching a certain distance, he got off the horse and sighed a big one, then loosened his limbs. He wasn't used to this riding and archery thing at all.

"You were good, kid." Etele appeared next to him and patted him on the shoulder, thanks to which Rahul rolled his eyes and was about to strike back at his relative in some striking way, when someone spoke from behind him.

"Where did you get that horse?" At the strange voice, Rahul immediately turned to the newcomer, who to his greatest surprise was the blind boy from the archery competition. It is true that the question asked would have sounded impolite from most people's mouths, but the boy still managed to ask it in such a tone that Rahul had no doubt that the boy was simply interested in the answer and had no problem with him being here.

"I don't know where he's from, he just appeared out of nowhere when I needed him." Said Rahul and smiled.

"Of course he appeared if I sent him." Etele spoke, who folded her arms in front of himseld and turned away, grimacing.

"I see. So he chose you, this explains what an immortal horse is doing next to you. Can i pet him?" The boy tilted his head to the side.

"Of course. I'll he..." Rahul started, but the strange boy went straight to the horse and stroked it, which made Rahul look at him suspiciously.

"You're not one of us, are you?" The stranger suddenly asked.

"No. I came from beyond Karrabata. They say I'm chüvigh or something." Rahul scratched his neck.

"Ah, that's why you're staring so much." The boy chuckled. "Yes, I am blind, and yes, I can see." He turned to Rahul, but poor Rahul was already so shocked and confused in his head that he didn't know what to say. "My tribe is special. I see, but not like you." The stranger explained when Rahul did not speak. "I see the shape of living things, and what is not alive is just a black figure." He shrugged.

"So you see me standing here, but you don't see me grimacing, right?" Asked Rahul curiously, and the boy smiled and thanks to this his whole face lit up.

"Exactly. Although I have a feeling that a frown wouldn't look good on you." The boy chuckled.

"I do it quite a lot." Rahul also joined in the giggles and stroked the horse's head again. "Go home safely, Fehérló, I'll call you if I need you." He put his forehead to the horse's forehead.

"My horse likes you more than he likes me." The spirit relative muttered, but immediately became silent.

"Is he called Fehérló? Befitting name for such a noble animal. Thanks for letting me get to know him." Said the boy smiling as the horse galloped away.

"Rahul!" He heard Citar's voice behind him from somewhere far away, and he turned towards him and then back to the stranger.

"I have to go, my friend is calling." He starting to go away. "I hope we will meet again! Goodbye!" He said and already ran away, so he couldn't see how the strange boy's lips pulled into a faint smile.

"I'm sure we'll meet." Whispered the strange boy, then turned around and went back to his tribe. In the meantime, Rahul met Citar, although after barely half a minute he was already thinking that maybe he should have stayed with the stranger. Since after that, Citar and his team didn't let him rest for a minute and entered him in almost every competiton. By the end of the day, the poor boy didn't even know where his head was, so it's no wonder that he didn't realize that Citar had led him to a yurt that the boy had never seen before.

Here, after everyone was comfortably seated, the team started talking, so Rahul finally had time to sort out his thoughts. That's how he realized that, in a strange way, the members of the team gathered around him all belong to a different tribe. He wouldn't have noticed this if it hadn't been so obvious all day that people dressed in different colored clothes didn't talk to each other beyond the bare minimum. Yet this team chats like they're best friends, and judging by what they're talking about, they probably are.

"Where do you think we're going for moonwalks this year?" Citar asked suddenly, and Suk shrugged his shoulders and answered while chewing a piece of bread.

"It depends on where the boss wants to go." The answer came, and Rahul looked at the team curiously.

"Who is the boss?" He asked out of pure curiosity.

"Zaukán Razvan." He received the answer given to him by Benkó, who was just counting the gold thalers in a small purse.

"Why are you wearing down my name Benkó?" At the sudden sound, everyone turned towards the entrance of the yurt and while all the members of the team smiled enthusiastically, Rahul's lips opened wide and he blinked hugely at the figure who appeared in the entrance, who was none other than the stranger from the afternoon. "What is he doing here?" The boy looked coldly at Rahul.

"Citar found him and he's particularly good. The Athamana could use him." Teveli started to explain, but the leader did not react as the team expected.

"You brought a stranger to an Athamana meeting without asking me?" He crashed on the team. "This is a secret group! Do you have any idea what the concept of secrecy is?" He continued scolding the hegins before Rahul stood up and raised his hands beside his head.

"If they don't, I do, so I'll go. Oh, and I didn't hear anything." He grinned and started towards the exit, and when he was about to walk past the boy, he stopped for a moment. "I didn't think we would meet so soon. I hope we'll have time to talk next time, leader Tapló." He whispered softly and chuckled, then hurried out of the yurt, leaving the leader alone with the team, who all watched in amazement as their leader literally turned after the boy rushing outside.

Citar had a silly thought that their boss was interested in his new friend, but before he could think about it, all his thoughts left him, as their boss turned to them with a cold look.

"Who do you thing you are?" He held his head and sighed. "Alright, we'll end this here and now. Any one of you who dares to get close to him will have trouble with me." He warned the team, causing Citar to think that his boss might be interested in his new friend in a way he thought his boss was immune to.

"Um. Boss he is under the protection of my tribe and entrusted to me, I can't help but get close to him." Citar raised his right hand in fear, while Razvan rolled his eyes and put his hands on his hips.

"You know what I mean, Citar, don't play dumb." The boy Bolacsuk received the answer and was surprised at the same time. The impossible has happened, their leader wants to court someone. "Let's leave the boy alone. Tell me how was your day?" Razvan finally sat down among the team and only the memory of that cold leader's radiance remained.

"This was the best Heginjülin so far boss! We won on every competition." Achilleus grinned.

"I don't understand, your tribe didn't win in any competition." Razvan raised his eyebrows.

"Not us!" The boy waved and then pointed to the team. "I mean the Athamana." He grinned, but their leader still looked at him with a confused face.

"I know, I didn't enter in every competition." He raised an eyebrow again.

"You didn"t, but we entered Rahul in everything you didn't take part in." Said the Motumisz boy, before Benkó hit him in the head.

"Shut up! The boss just told us to leave him alone, and you had to bring him up again, huh?" He growled, which made the team leader blink a few times.

"Did that boy win everything I didn't compete in?" He asked, and his team started nodding. "Where did you found him Citar?" He turned to the Bolacsuk boy.

"I found him at the border, he's our newbie. When we last spoke, I mentioned that I saw a griffin, it was also his. Oh, and even though he has no idea how things are going with us, he is able to perform a perfect liberation, and he's already on solomonar seven stars. I wanted to introduce him to you first, but the others found us sooner." The boy said, constantly staring at his feet and only at the end of what he had to say, looking up at his boss, who was holding his chin and staring thoughtfully in front of himself.

"Something isn't right with him." The leader frowned.

"Whatt? He's just a little naive, but we'll teach him and he'll be a perfect team member." Said Suk enthusiastically and the others joined his opinion.

"Well!" Razvan finally surrendered. "I will go along, you can drag him after you, but until I trust him, you will not say a word in front of him about the internal affairs of the Athamana. Am I understood?" He looked over the team.

"Yes Boss!" They answered him at the same time.

"Then we'll meet here tomorrow before the handover ceremony. Now get out of my sight!" He waved, before the group laughed and left their team leader alone, who just looked up at the sky in the middle of the yurt and shook his head. "What are you doing next to that ghost and the white horse? What are you hiding from us Chüvigh Rahul?"
