Amrita's eyes shone as she stared at the food on the table. Her earlier laziness had completely vanished.
"These foodies..." Roman thought, smiling wryly as he ate. Everything felt peaceful, despite this world being more chaotic than the one before.
His week in Astrum had helped him adapt somewhat, but the predecessor's feelings and habits still occasionally surfaced. He was still trying to maintain control, thinking things would normalize within a year or two.
After eating, the two foodies let out deep sighs of satisfaction, their stomachs visibly bulging.
Even though Roman hadn't finished his food, Amrita glanced at his usual calm expression and asked,
"So, which rank did you awaken to? Or... is it about that Lily girl?"
Hearing that, Roman couldn't help but cough on his food. Still, he managed to control himself.
Sighing calmly, he said to Amrita, "Well… we both awakened."
"We both awakened," he repeated, more to himself than to her.
After that, he didn't say much. Her mentioning Lily had caught him completely off guard. It wasn't like the predecessor had been a simp for her, but feelings had definitely bloomed in his heart.
Although it was hard to say whether the girl felt the same, what bothered him more was—how did Amrita know? He questioned it in his heart but didn't let his curiosity stir up turmoil.
As Roman cleaned the table and placed the dishes into the dishwasher, the satisfied Amrita asked again,
"So… which rank did you awaken?"
Failing to maintain his usual cold and indifferent look, he finally admitted defeat and replied,
"I awakened a C-rank talent. A good one, actually."
"Good one or not," he thought, "with an SSS-ranked legendary trait, even an F-rank ability would shine."
"C-rank?!" Amrita's eyes nearly popped out. In her military days, she had seen what a C-rank Awakened could do. Now that her own nephew was one, she couldn't help but admire him.
"I need to send this message to your parents!" she exclaimed and rushed off to her room in excitement.
Half-asleep, Aeilia stirred and asked groggily,
"Did you become a strong Awakened, brother?"
"Not that strong," Roman replied, smiling, "but strong enough to protect you."
"That's enough! Then, when an Orc Demon attacks me, you'll slice them up with your cool sword!"
"I will! Not only slice them, but destroy their entire planet from the universe."
"Wouldn't you become just like them then?"
"Wouldn't that be better than letting them scare you?"
"Yeah! They deserve to die!" she shouted.
"Now sleep," he said softly, tucking his sister into bed.
"Trauma of Orc Attack still lingered in her mind."
"Oh! I forgot to tell them i will be send to AIIA main campus."
...
On the third floor, finally alone in his room, Roman picked up a flat-screen device from his desk. With a quick tap, a translucent virtual screen appeared in front of him.
Skynet... or Internet, whatever you call it. It was nothing like in his previous life—here, access came with a heavy price tag. The subscription fee alone could make your wallet cry.
Fortunately, Origin Warriors didn't have to worry about that. They had their own exclusive network, completely separate from what common people used.
He quickly logged into the Astrum Warrior Hub.
Instantly, a wiki-style interface popped up, with three website links displayed prominently.
"Isn't this just a ripoff of Hidden Link Wiki?" he muttered. Still, not caring much, he clicked on the first link and logged in using his Origin Warrior License number.
The ten-inch holographic screen expanded, and several more floating panels appeared around him.
The interface looked oddly familiar—like a cross between Reddit and Quora.
Thousands of questions and answers filled the space.
As he scrolled through, one article caught his attention:
"Beginner's Guide to the Origin World."
