Chapter 7 - Meeting under the moonlight

After leaving the alley behind, William began to wander around the village, looking for any information that might lead him to the sage or the men with tattoos. He knew that villagers rarely talked to strangers, but there were always those who sold information for the right price.

After a few hours of listening and observation, he collected some names and locations that might benefit him later, but he hasn't found anything concrete yet. He felt a little hungry, so he went to one of the small bars in the village, where the food was cheap and people were busy with their conversations, making it a good place to hide without drawing attention.

But as soon as he sat down, he was surprised by a familiar person entering through the door.

It was the girl I saved.

She was not alone, but with her two young men who seemed anxious and nervous. They were whispering something to her as she shook her head, then headed straight towards his table, without hesitation.

"Can I sit down?" She asked in a quiet voice, but she wasn't afraid.

William didn't answer, he just looked at her for a moment, then returned to his food.

I considered this to be an agreement, so I sat opposite him, while the two companions remained standing, looking at William very carefully.

"Erin, that's not good..." One of them said in a low voice, watching William's red eyes.

But the girl, who now identified herself as Irene, didn't care.

She looked at William carefully, as if studying him with her blue eyes. It wasn't a fear, but something else... admiration?

"I wanted to thank you again." She said with a light smile.

William didn't remove his eyes from his plate. "I told you, don't thank me."

Erin was not affected by his coldness, but laughed a little. "You're weird, you know that?"

Should not.

However, the companions were not comfortable. One of them muttered, "Erin, maybe we should go..."

But before she could respond, he opened the bar door violently, and Caen came in, or as some call him Kalyan, looking for William.

"Ah, I found you!" He said, heading towards him with quick steps, then sat next to him like an old friend.

Erin and the companions looked at him in amazement, but he did not pay attention to them, but directed his speech directly to William.

"We have to go to the town of Reloy."

William finally looked at him. "Why?"

Cain smiled slyly. "Because I found the end of the thread there. It seems that the wise man has left a trace, and we have someone ready to speak... if we know how to make him speak."

Before William responded, Erin interrupted them, saying in surprise: "Did you say Reloy?"

Cain turned to her as if he was noticing her presence for the first time. "Yes, and why do you care?"

Irene smiled and said, "Because it's my destination too."

Kain raised his eyebrow, then looked at William and said sarcastically, "What a coincidence, isn't it?"

But William wasn't interested. He didn't like to mix, and he preferred to travel alone or only with Cain.

But Cain, who seemed to be enjoying the situation, patted him on the shoulder and said, "Looks like we have a new travel companion."

Irene looked at William with a light smile.

As for him, he was content with silence, but inside him, he felt that this journey might become more complicated than expected.
