------------------------------------------------------------

The karaoke session started at 5:30 PM and lasted until later in the evening.

There wasn't much to say about the K-song session. A group of young people gathered to sing—just a mix of chaotic howling and occasional melodies before it was over.

The session was mostly dominated by Yukinoshita Haruno and Karuizawa Kei.

As the undeniable leader of Class D, Haruno naturally attracted attention. Surrounded by girls eager to hear more, she kept singing song after song at their request. It was almost like a small-scale concert.

As for Karuizawa, she simply enjoyed the spotlight, enthusiastically picking songs on her own.

Meanwhile, Kushida Kikyo seemed distracted and visibly uneasy.

It wasn't too obvious, but given her reputation as the class's beloved "little angel," any slight change in her demeanor was bound to be noticed.

Even Kure Ragna was urged to sing a few songs.

However, his singing was only decent—in tune, passable, and not painful to hear, but nowhere near the level of those male protagonists in novels whose voices alone could make female celebrities swoon.

Before long, the evening came to a close.

By the time Kure Ragna returned to his dorm after dinner, it was already 6:15 PM.

After changing into lightweight athletic wear, he prepared to head out.

Not for the swimming pool, though.

With the arrival of spring, swimming classes were back in session, and the school's swimming club had resumed its intense training. After being idle all winter, they were bound to push themselves hard, possibly training until 9 or even 10 PM to prepare for upcoming competitions.

As the weather got hotter, more students would also come to the pool for leisure.

The training space he had found earlier would likely be crowded soon. Annoying.

So, tonight, he decided to run around the school instead, followed by a workout at the gym. No punching sandbags today, but keeping up with physical training was a must.

Setting his goal for the night, Kure Ragna stepped into the elevator.

---

A Run Under the Evening Lights

As the elevator descended to the first floor, a soft ding echoed in the enclosed space. The doors slid open, and Kure Ragna jogged out.

At this time, most students were either showering in their dorms or handling personal affairs. Few people were moving about.

Outside, the campus streetlights had turned on early, casting a warm golden glow on the black-and-white asphalt.

The evening breeze carried the lingering chill of winter, but there was a faint touch of spring's warmth.

It was, honestly, a great night for a run.

Kure Ragna thought so too.

However—

Just as he stepped beyond the low wall surrounding the dormitory, he caught sight of a familiar figure in the corner of his eye.

A girl, less than 1.6 meters tall, with light chestnut-colored, shoulder-length hair, wearing a school uniform with black socks. From the side, her bust was quite impressive.

There was no mistaking her.

Unless someone had a severe case of obsessive cross-dressing—complete with breast padding to pretend to be her—then the figure he saw could only be Kushida Kikyo.

But what was she doing at this hour?

Didn't she say she hadn't slept last night?

Coincidentally, she was heading in the same direction as him.

According to his mental map of the campus, if she continued on this path through the green belt, she'd end up at the seaside area of the artificial island.

That area had a long, straight road with multiple public benches facing the sea. The view was completely unobstructed, with only a waist-high safety fence separating the walkway from the water.

It was a popular spot for couples to meet in secret.

Most importantly—

There were no surveillance cameras there.

So she's going to meet someone?

The thought naturally popped into Kure Ragna's mind.

Normally, in situations like these, a male protagonist would pretend nothing was happening. He'd mind his own business, stick to his running route, or even change directions to avoid suspicion.

But Kure Ragna?

He wasn't that type of protagonist.

Avoidance? Efficiency? Boring.

If you want excitement, you have to stir things up.

---

A Strange Behavior

Kushida Kikyo walked fast—far quicker than a normal pace.

Her steps weren't light and brisk, like someone eager to meet a loved one.

Instead, her strides were rough and forceful, her body slightly leaning forward.

From Kure Ragna's perspective, it didn't seem like she was going to meet a sweetheart at all.

It looked more like she was heading off to kill someone.

Weird.

Following at a steady pace, he trailed behind her without making a sound.

Before long, they reached the seaside park walkway.

Kushida Kikyo stopped in front of the safety fence, facing the vast, dark ocean.

After glancing around to ensure she was alone, the ever-lively, sweet, and gentle class idol took a deep breath—

And then, in a tone that completely shattered her usual image, she muttered—

"Ah… I'm so damn tired."

Oh?

Kure Ragna, who had just caught up, raised an eyebrow in amusement.

Standing a few meters behind her, he decided to stay silent and observe for a moment.

Completely unaware of his presence, Kushida Kikyo finally let her pent-up frustration spill out.

Her voice, unconsciously, grew harsher.

"That arrogant bitch… acting like she's all that just because she's cute. Always mobilizing the class like some damn queen… It's so disgusting! Why won't she just drop dead already?!"

Seething, she kicked the safety fence.

The steel barrier rattled loudly.

Then she kicked it again. And again.

The force of each kick grew stronger, her movements almost rhythmic—like a buildup to something dangerous.

"Go to hell!"

BAM.

"Go to hell!"

BAM.

"Go to hell!"

BAM!

Just as she was about to shout once more—

A quiet, amused chuckle sounded behind her.

"Pfft~."
