c37 - Madara's Temper Is Getting Worse And Worse
Early the next morning, the sound of commotion outside gradually quieted down.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
There was a persistent knock on the door.
"Yuuji-san! Yuuji-san! Are you there?" Guy's voice echoed through the house. "It's been days since we trained together! I've been waiting for you to come back from Shibi's place."
Guy slammed the door again, eager for a response.
Yuuji, groggy from a night spent battling Godzilla in his inner space, slowly opened the door. His eyes were heavy with sleep. "Good morning, Guy," he muttered, stretching. "Why did you think of looking for me today? Shouldn't you be cultivating with Mr. Duy?"
Guy, full of energy, grinned widely. "Yuuji-san, your expression says it all! You've been working hard again, haven't you? No wonder you're the talk of the town!" Guy clenched his fists with determination, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
Yuuji raised an eyebrow. "You're in a bit of a mess yourself, Guy. Have you been training?" He pointed out the dust covering Guy's body.
"Oh, that? It's nothing," Guy waved it off with a smile. "A bunch of girls were crowding outside your room, Yuuji-san. I sent them away since I thought they might interfere with your training!"
"Thanks, Guy." Yuuji sighed in relief, appreciating the gesture.
Guy beamed. "No need to thank me! It's just what I do for a friend!"
Despite his exhaustion, Yuuji chuckled at Guy's unwavering enthusiasm. "Alright, let's head to Kazue's house. We need to make the most of our time; we've been back for a week, and the next mission is likely on the horizon."
With that, the two of them set off for the Uchiha clan grounds.
Upon arrival, Yuuji stopped in his tracks. "Wait, Guy. I've got something important to take care of first."
With a quick hand sign, Yuuji summoned two Shadow Clones.
"Go ahead and handle this for me," he instructed.
The clones dashed off, heading straight for Obito's house without hesitation.
"Obito's grandmother, we're here for the shift change! You don't have to get up, just rest!" one clone called out as it entered.
Obito's grandmother, Madara, frowned at the sight of Yuuji's clones. "Ah, Yuuji, you came again... really..."
Obito, who had been helping with his grandmother's care, was overwhelmed with emotion. He regarded Yuuji as a true friend, someone who had repeatedly shared the burden of chakra depletion by creating clones.
"When you went out on missions, you never forgot about your clone duties," Obito said, wiping a tear. "Isn't it exhausting?"
"Don't worry about it, Obito. I've got this covered," Yuuji's clone assured.
Another shadow clone added, "Don't worry, Obito! We've gathered all the experience from the previous clones. We know Grandma's habits inside and out. Zetsu won't make a mistake!"
Madara, though slightly unamused by the clones' persistent presence, nodded approvingly. "Shadow Clones, huh? The Second Hokage would have been pleased to see how you've discovered their true potential."
Yuuji's clone continued its duties, leaving Obito to prepare for his next task.
Obito turned to Yuuji, grateful but visibly troubled. "Yuuji-san, I appreciate your help, but I'm still going to need it in the future. With a leader to follow, I can't guarantee I'll always be able to stay by Grandma's side…"
Yuuji smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, Obito. I'll look after your grandmother. Unless I die, no one else is taking over."
"Thank you, Yuuji!" Obito brightened up, wiping his tears. He ran out excitedly, presumably to meet with Namikaze Minato.
Yuuji, now alone with Guy, pondered the situation. "He has a leader now? Minato's team is coming together... but can it be enough?"
Yuuji's thoughts turned to Obito's situation. 'Obito is easy to manipulate. The trauma of losing Rin was the key to Madara's influence. Obito, with his Mangekyō Sharingan, will inevitably play into Madara's hands.'
Yuuji's eyes narrowed slightly. 'Minato might be the fastest ninja, but he's always too late. And no matter what happens, Obito's path is already sealed with Madara behind him.'
"Anyway, let's go find Kazue," Yuuji said, pulling Guy along.
As they approached Kazue's house, they were greeted by the sight of the young Uchiha practicing intensely.
"Wow! Sister is amazing! Look, Itachi, isn't my sister awesome? Tell me she's amazing!" Little Izumi bounced up and down, tugging at a boy's arm excitedly.
"Yes, yes, Sister Kazue is really something else. If I could have her strength at my age... I'd be unstoppable!" The boy, none other than Uchiha Itachi, said in awe.
Kazue, the brightest star in the Uchiha clan, was gaining widespread praise. Even letters from the frontlines emphasized her talents.
Just then, the door opened, and Yuuji stepped inside. "Sorry to interrupt! Is Kazue here?"
At the sight of Itachi, Yuuji froze for a second. 'Itachi? He's already here?'
Yuuji took a moment to assess the situation. The Uchiha prodigy, even as a child, was impressive. But Yuuji had more pressing matters on his mind.
