Chapter 17 - The Missing Files

Laughter echoed through the dorm as the girls teased Lemon about her new 'friend' on social media. Hazel nudged her playfully. "Come on, Lemon, admit it. You were totally checking out his profile!"

"I was just curious!" Lemon defended, but her face betrayed her as a light blush dusted her cheeks.

Scarlett smirked. "Curious about what? His ocean-blue eyes or his perfect jawline?"

Riley grinned. "Or the fact that he caught you in his arms like some dramatic romance movie?"

Lemon groaned, covering her face as they burst into laughter. "Alright, enough! We have bigger things to focus on."

The next day, after their lectures, the girls regrouped. "We need to dig deeper into the past," Evelyn stated. "The six girls separated in their second year, right? That means something happened at the end of their first year.

They decided to check the storage room, where old student records were kept. Upon reaching the dimly lit room, Lemon, Hazel, and Scarlett stepped inside to search, while Riley, Autumn, and Evelyn stood guard outside. Dust filled the air as they sifted through the shelves, searching for files from that year.

"Where are they?" Hazel murmured, flipping through stacks of papers.

Scarlett frowned. "Every other year's files are here, but the first-year records from that batch are missing."

Lemon's brows knitted in frustration. "Someone took them. Someone doesn't want us to know what happened that year."

With nothing to find, they returned to their dorm. Just as Lemon settled onto her bed, scrolling through Leon's social media page absentmindedly, Hazel leaned over with a mischievous grin. "See? Caught you again."

Scarlett and Riley joined in, giggling. "Isn't he dreamy?" Scarlett teased.

Lemon rolled her eyes. "I was just looking! It's not a crime!"

Before they could continue, Autumn and Evelyn burst into the room, breathless. "You guys won't believe what we just heard," Evelyn blurted out.

"What is it?" Lemon asked, sitting up.

Autumn hesitated, then said, "Leon… he was in first-year at this college."

"What?!" everyone exclaimed at once.

"Yeah," Evelyn confirmed. "He left before the final examinations."

The room fell silent as all eyes slowly turned to Lemon.

Riley folded her arms. "Looks like we need to have a little chat with your Prince Charming."

Lemon sighed, rubbing her temples. "This just got a lot more complicated."
