This is a Extra chapter that has absolutely no relation to the main story.

I actually wanted to upload this chapter before the second year started, but one or two things made me decide not to upload it. But now that I think about it, it would be a shame if I didn't upload it so here it is

so just enjoy it!!!!

"Delivery for Ayanokouji Kiyotaka-sama."

A somewhat indifferent delivery worker handed me a cardboard box at my door.

Normally, a signature or seal would be required, but since this school only has students, showing my student ID was enough for verification.

After receiving the package, I carried it to the living room.

Upon opening the box, I found the item I had been waiting for, carefully wrapped inside.

"So, these are the glasses that display affection levels..."

I had found them on the same website where I previously ordered the aphrodisiac.

They were said to numerically quantify and visualize the target's level of affection. I had my doubts about whether such a thing was really possible, but since they were surprisingly cheap, I decided to buy them and see for myself.

"They look like ordinary glasses."

Well, their appearance didn't matter much. What was important was their functionality.

"Alright, let's test them out."

I figured I'd try them on some random acquaintance. Luckily, today was a day off. If I went outside, I'd probably run into someone I knew.

......

I left my room, took the elevator down to the first floor, and by chance, ran into Horikita and Kushida.

"You two being together is unusual."

"It's a coincidence. I stopped by the convenience store, and on my way back, our paths happened to cross," Horikita explained.

"Yeah! I just happened to meet Horikita-san there, so we walked back together!" Kushida added cheerfully. "Ayanokouji-kun, you're wearing glasses? That's rare! They suit you!"

I received contrasting explanations from the two of them.

If it wasn't a coincidence, there's no way these two would be together willingly.

"Did you just start wearing glasses?" Horikita asked skeptically.

"My eyesight's been getting worse, so I decided to try them out."

"Is that really the only reason? I find it hard to believe you'd buy glasses without some ulterior motive."

"What kind of person do you think I am?"

If anything, "my eyesight got worse" should be more than enough reason to buy glasses. For some reason, Horikita was suspicious of me beyond what was necessary.

"Horikita-san, don't you think you're being a little too pushy with Ayanokouji-kun? You know what they say—even close friends should respect boundaries."

"I'm not being pushy. I just asked a simple question."

Before I knew it, Kushida and Horikita were bickering.

Perfect. This was a good opportunity to test the glasses on both of them.

[Horikita Suzune → Kushida Kikyō]

Trust: 47

Friendliness: 11

Affection: 10

Hostility: 43

Lust: 18

Conclusion: Neither likes nor dislikes.

[Kushida Kikyō → Horikita Suzune]

Trust: 39

Friendliness: 5

Affection: 8

Hostility: 99

Lust: 15

Conclusion: Strong feelings of aversion.

"...Interesting."

It was more accurate than I expected.

Honestly, I thought it would just be a gimmick, but it numerically represented Horikita and Kushida's relationship with surprising precision.

Trust, friendliness, and affection measured positive emotions.

Hostility was self-explanatory—how much they saw each other as enemies.

Lust was probably related to physical attraction.

And the conclusion seemed to be an overall assessment.

"...Why are you staring at us like that? What are you thinking about?"

"Ahaha, is there something on my face?"

While checking their affection levels, I must have unconsciously been staring too hard, because now they were both looking at me suspiciously.

"No, I was just thinking... you two seem pretty close—"

"Absolutely not. Don't say such dishonest things."

"Ayanokouji-kun, are you blind or something?"

I was immediately met with sharp glares and rebuttals. What was with these two and their occasional mysterious teamwork?

More importantly, shouldn't Kushida be more careful about letting her true feelings slip?

.......

On my day off, I infiltrated Keyaki Mall and was observing the favorability levels of the students around me when I spotted a familiar face.

"Hikigaya… alone?"

By pure chance, I found Hikigaya walking by himself.

"..."

I felt an inexplicable surge of curiosity.

I've always been interested in Hikigaya's social relationships.

He and I have lived similar lives, but I wondered how much difference being in different classes made in terms of interactions.

Well, I have these glasses now.

Might as well check the favorability levels of the people Hikigaya meets today.

I stealthily followed behind him, making sure not to get caught.

"Oh, already?"

The first ones to call out to Hikigaya—who was just aimlessly walking—were his classmates, Ishizaki and Ibuki.

Seeing them chatting so amiably, I expected their favorability levels to be pretty high.

"Those two must be pretty close to Hikigaya, huh? Maybe I'll see different results compared to Horikita and the others earlier."

Hiding behind a store sign, I discreetly observed the three of them talking.

Ishizaki Daichi → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 79

Friendship: 85

Affection: 49

Hostility: 3

Lust: 13

Conclusion: Regards him like a close friend.

It makes sense. Whenever Ishizaki talks, he often speaks about Hikigaya and Ryuuen as if they were his own business. These numbers reflect a deep bond.

"...Compared to this, Horikita and Kushida's numbers were way too low, weren't they?"

Since the first ones I saw were Horikita and Kushida, Ishizaki's numbers seemed incredibly high in comparison.

Just how bad was their relationship?

"Next is Ibuki… I really can't guess hers."

I have no idea how Ibuki's numbers will turn out.

She clearly hates me, so I figured she'd dislike Hikigaya too, since we're similar.

"Well, I'll find out soon enough."

Ibuki Rei → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 80

Friendship: 65

Affection: 86

Hostility: 18

Lust: 66

Conclusion: If she confessed right now, she'd get a "yes" in response.

"Whoa…"

I accidentally let out a noise I don't usually make.

This was the complete opposite of what I had imagined.

Trust and friendship were high, but an affection level of 86? That's the first time I've seen that. And lust at 66 is also pretty high. It's clear Ibuki has feelings for Hikigaya.

From these numbers, it seems the higher affection, trust, and lust are, the closer the emotions are to romantic love.

"Hm? Ryuuen's here too?"

While Hikigaya was talking with Ishizaki and the others, Ryuuen also approached. He didn't seem to notice me watching, because the moment he saw Hikigaya, he immediately threw a kick.

...Is that how they always are?

Come to think of it, I don't really know much about Ryuuen and Hikigaya's relationship. I have a rough idea, but not the details.

Well, no better time than now to check. Let's see the numbers.

Ryuuen Kakeru → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 70

Friendship: 41

Affection: 4

Hostility: 493

Kill Intent: 459

Lust: 9

Conclusion: Wants to crush him by any means necessary. What did you even do to deserve this?

"Well, it's expected, but… what's with the kill intent?"

I can still somewhat understand the trust and friendship levels being there. But the hostility is insane—I've never seen a three-digit number before.

And then there's the new stat: kill intent.

What the hell is this? It wasn't in the favorability metrics earlier.

And the conclusion—don't you dare phrase it like a question.

"Does the system add new stats depending on the target?"

Is this some kind of hidden feature?

Or did Ryuuen's hostility toward Hikigaya spike so high that it unlocked a kill intent stat?

These glasses are way more high-tech than I thought.

.....

"Next up are Matsushita, Satou, and then Kei and Hirata."

After parting ways with Ryuuen and the others, Hikigaya ran into a group from our own class. Now that I think about it, I did overhear them talking about hanging out today.

Hirata, being the guy who can seamlessly blend into any girls' group, is seriously impressive.

"What a coincidence, Hikigaya-kun."

"Yeah, I guess."

They were just making small talk since they happened to bump into each other.

But something felt off—Matsushita was standing way too close to Hikigaya. Like, if she moved even slightly, they'd be touching. It was a completely different distance compared to everyone else.

In contrast, Kei was keeping her distance. Probably still holding a grudge over the rooftop incident.

"Let's check them one by one."

Satou Maya → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 58

Friendship: 61

Affection: 48

Hostility: 13

Lust: 25

Conclusion: A friend from another class.

"...This is normal, right?"

The numbers I'd seen so far had been way too skewed. They'd messed with my sense of scale.

But this? Just regular numbers—no mutual hatred, no bugged-out hostility.

Somehow, it was a huge relief.

Karuizawa Kei → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 33

Friendship: 31

Affection: 13

Hostility: 45

Lust: 14

Conclusion: Finds him a little scary and hard to deal with.

As expected, the rooftop incident still weighed on her.

I should probably talk to her about it properly later. Maybe call her to my room tonight.

"...Alright."

Now for the real main event.

Just how high is Matsushita's favorability? Probably around Ibuki's level, but… judging by that proximity, it might not be that simple.

I braced myself and checked the numbers.

Matsushita Chiaki → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 91

Friendship: 92

Affection: 364

Hostility: 39

Lust: 91

Conclusion: Would be accepted even if he pushed her down. And then, in one go—

"Hey, conclusion."

...Is someone manually inputting these?

"Affection 364... That's insane."

Every stat except hostility was the highest I'd seen so far.

Matsushita… do you like Hikigaya way too much?

If 50 is the standard for normal friendship, this is seven times that. And with the other stats factored in, just how many times over is this…?

"…Huh?"

Matsushita excused herself from Hirata and the others, leading Hikigaya by the hand into a less crowded alley.

From where I was, I could barely make it out, but… did Matsushita just hug him? Or was I hallucinating?

"Let's calm down. Maybe checking Hirata's numbers will help..."

Hirata's stats have to be normal.

Hirata Yousuke → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 52

Friendship: 56

Affection: 43

Hostility: 36

Lust: 32

Conclusion: Reminds him of someone he has feelings for, making him a little nervous.

"............................................................…Hirata?"

.......

"Let's keep what happened earlier to ourselves."

Despite all the shocking events, I decide to tail Hikigaya a little longer.

Honestly, I can't shake a bad feeling about this, but I'd rather believe it's just my imagination.

"...Sakayanagi and Kamuro, huh?"

Hikigaya had just run into Sakayanagi, Kamuro, Hashimoto, and Kitou—key figures from Class A.

"More importantly, where the hell is Hikigaya even going?"

He seems to be moving with a purpose, but he keeps getting stopped by people before reaching his destination. His social network is way too broad.

"Let's check Sakayanagi's numbers last. I hope the other three's stats are at least reasonable..."

I've already seen so many numbers today that my stomach is churning.

Sakayanagi gives off an unsettling vibe, so I'll deal with the other three first.

Hashimoto Masayoshi → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 23

Friendship: 59

Affection: 13

Hostility: 55

Lust: 6

Conclusion: A fiancé-like figure to his superior. Trying to assess his true capabilities.

Kamuro Masumi → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 57

Friendship: 50

Affection: 45

Hostility: 39

Lust: 61

Conclusion: Sees him as an enigma whose true nature and abilities are unclear, but senses a slight similarity to herself.

Kitou Shun → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 76

Friendship: 70

Affection: 37

Hostility: 19

Lust: 12

Conclusion: One of the few people he genuinely gets along with and likes.

"Kitou actually likes Hikigaya, huh?"

Other things catch my attention too—like Hashimoto's "fiancé-like" status and Kamuro's surprisingly high lust value—but overall, the numbers are reasonable enough to be a relief.

"...I have no idea what to expect from Sakayanagi's affection levels."

In my mind, Sakayanagi is calm, collected, and a genius—arguably the most brilliant mind in the school when it comes to creativity.

"But in front of Hikigaya, that changes."

Around him, she isn't the leader of Class A—she's just a girl who has feelings for him.

...Right now, she's even pressing her face—no, her lips—toward him.

I shake my head violently to force the image out of my mind and steal a glance at the numbers.

Sakayanagi Arisu → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 135

Friendship: 98

Affection: 491

Hostility: 30

Lust: 113

Conclusion: Could propose marriage and it'd be fine. Will accept anything from him—her affection is maxed out. On the flip side, kind of wants to see what it'd take for him to dislike her.

"...Conclusion: I refuse to acknowledge this."

This isn't just "like" anymore. What the hell did you do to make the numbers like this, Hikigaya...?

"Never mind the affection, but lust in the triple digits...?"

Not that I'm complaining, but can Sakayanagi even handle Hikigaya's... thing?

That little girl—

......

"..."

"Sakayanagi? Is something wrong?"

Sakayanagi, who had been closing in on Hachiman, suddenly turned her gaze sharply toward the shadows.

"No, it's just... for some reason, I feel an inexplicable surge of irritation right now... I have the sudden urge to punish Ayanokouji-kun."

"What's gotten into you all of a sudden?"

......

Somehow, for a moment, it felt like Sakayanagi had noticed me.

Even though I was perfectly hidden in the shadows, she nearly spotted me. Maybe I should stop using the term "little girl" from now on.

"I'm seriously getting exhausted now... Why does just looking at affection levels tire me out this much?"

Swallowing my own doubts, I decide to make this the last one and continue following Hikigaya.

"This is... the library."

It seems Hikigaya's destination was the library.

Which means the last person whose affection levels I'll check is practically decided.

"Sorry, Hiyori. I kept you waiting."

"It's fine. I just got here myself."

As expected, the person Hikigaya was meeting was Shiina Hiyori.

"Figures."

Since I already had a hunch, there was a tinge of unease.

So far, the affection values have been escalating one after another. Even Sakayanagi's numbers were absurdly excessive.

"Will Shiina at least give me some reasonable numbers...?"

Somehow, the whole point of this seems to have shifted, but at this rate, my sense of normalcy is about to collapse.

Steeling myself, I focus my gaze on Shiina and Hikigaya.

Shiina Hiyori → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: 180

Friendship: 197

Affection: 500

Hostility: 0

Lust: 152

Conclusion: Affection maxed out. Nothing more to say.

"Hikigaya... just how many girls have you charmed?"

Because Hikigaya's nature is so similar to mine, I can't help but wonder—if I had started in Class C instead of Class D, would there have been girls who felt this way about me too?

"...Nah, no way. That's a privilege only Hikigaya gets."

Having reached that conclusion, I stop tailing Hikigaya.

Not for any deep reason, but... maybe I'll ask Kei if she can come to my room tonight.

........

The weekend break came to an end, and a new week began.

As usual, I finished getting ready and left the dorm. On the way, I happened to run into Hikigaya, and we naturally ended up walking to school together.

"Ayanokouji, you're wearing glasses now... Did your eyesight get worse?"

Hikigaya sounded a little surprised, as if he hadn't expected me to care about something like that.

These glasses that let me see affection levels do have an actual prescription, so aside from their special function, they're no different from regular glasses.

Since I went through the trouble of buying them, I figured I might as well wear them.

"Something like that. They're brand new."

I stayed up late last night talking to Kei on the phone, so I'm sleep-deprived.

As I yawned while walking to school, we ran into yet another person along the way.

"You two walking to school together… Somehow, it feels strangely off."

Staring at us with a puzzled expression was Horikita Manabu.

It was probably just a coincidence, but it almost felt staged.

"First time seeing you around at this hour. …Don't tell me you overslept?"

"Don't phrase it like I'm incapable of oversleeping. Even I oversleep sometimes."

"Wait, you actually overslept? And you're the former student council president."

"Don't bring up that title."

As Hikigaya and Horikita Manabu kept talking, the latter happened to step into the glasses' field of vision—revealing his affection levels.

Well, it's Horikita Manabu. It's probably fine.

But the moment I saw the numbers, I reflexively took a step back in shock.

.......

Horikita Manabu → Hikigaya Hachiman

Trust: ––––––

Friendship:––––––

Affection: ––––––

Hostility: ––––––

Lust: ––––––

Conclusion:There's a legit chance here.

.....

"..."

Silently, I removed the glasses I was wearing… and smashed them against the ground.

The lenses shattered with a sharp crack, shards scattering in all directions.

Hikigaya and Horikita Manabu, startled by the sudden act, turned to me with stunned expressions—but I didn't falter.

"Hey. What the hell are you doing? Those were brand new, weren't they?"

"Why did you break them? That's a waste."

"…I dropped them. Must've stepped on them by accident. I'll clean this up, so you two go ahead."

It was a flimsy excuse, but Hikigaya seemed to sense I had my reasons. With a glance at Horikita Manabu, he nudged him along, and the two reluctantly walked off.

"A glitch… right?"

As I picked up the broken fragments, my mind replayed the numbers I'd just seen.

"..."

I pulled out my phone and dialed Chabashira, my homeroom teacher.

"What is it, Ayanokouji? Homeroom's about to start."

"Chabashira-sensei. I won't be coming to school today. I'm feeling… lightheaded."

And so, on this day, I experienced my first-ever absence from school.

(Silently, I vowed never to wear those glasses again.)
