Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Breakfast, Bottles, and Bullsh*t

Kaiser was still on the floor.

His back ached. His pride ached. His soul had probably left his body.

All because of a stupid comment about milk.

And Yun Yun's fist.

"…Ugh."

With a groan, he pushed himself up, glaring at the smug little cub curled against Yun Yun.

That damn furball.

First, it rejected him. Then, it suckled on Yun Yun. And then, when he tried—

WHACK.

Yeah. He still wasn't over that.

Yun Yun ignored him. She had already wrapped herself in the blanket, keeping her chest covered while she rubbed her temples.

"…What kind of day is this?" she muttered.

Kaiser stretched.

"A sh*t one," he replied.

Then, before she could throw something else at him, he cleared his throat and started walking away.

Yun Yun narrowed her eyes.

"…Where are you going?"

Kaiser paused at the door.

He smirked.

"To get breakfast."

Five Minutes Later…

Kaiser returned with a tray of food.

Yun Yun blinked.

Then, she blinked again.

She had never seen food like this before.

The soup was golden, steaming with tender chicken pieces and fragrant herbs.

On the side was a plate of crispy, golden bread, lightly seasoned with some unknown spices.

It smelled divine.

"…What the hell is this?" she finally asked.

Kaiser raised an eyebrow.

"…Chicken soup?"

Yun Yun stared.

"This is not chicken soup."

Kaiser tilted his head.

"…Yes, it is."

Yun Yun pointed at it like it was an alien artifact.

"Chicken soup does not look like this."

Kaiser rolled his eyes.

"Maybe not in your world. But in mine, this is peak chicken soup."

Yun Yun narrowed her eyes.

"…What do you mean 'your world'?"

Kaiser froze.

"…"

"…"

"…I meant, uh, my house."

Yun Yun didn't believe a word of it.

But the food smelled too good, so she let it go.

For now.

She picked up a spoon.

Slowly, cautiously…

She took a sip.

And immediately froze.

Her eyes widened.

Kaiser smirked.

"Good, right?"

Yun Yun stared at the soup.

Then at him.

Then back at the soup.

Then, in a very unladylike fashion—

She started eating like she hadn't eaten in days.

Kaiser snickered.

"…Damn, woman, slow down."

Yun Yun ignored him.

She had never tasted something so perfect.

It was rich. Savory. Warm.

It made her entire body relax.

She glanced at him between bites.

"…Where did you learn to cook like this?"

Kaiser grinned.

"Oh, you know…"

He leaned back, smug as hell.

"Talent."

Yun Yun rolled her eyes.

But she kept eating.

And that was enough of a victory for him.

Meanwhile, the Cub had been watching them.

But it wasn't interested in the food.

No.

It was staring at something else.

Kaiser noticed.

"…What's up with you?"

The cub meowed.

Then, with tiny steps, it crawled toward the tray.

But not for the soup.

For the milk bottle.

Yun Yun blinked.

"What… is that?"

Kaiser grinned.

"A bottle of milk."

The cub sniffed it.

Then, with a happy purr, it grabbed the bottle with its little paws and started drinking.

Yun Yun stared.

Her brain malfunctioned.

"…What… is that?" she repeated.

Kaiser chuckled.

"A milk bottle."

Yun Yun glared.

"I know what milk is. But what is that thing?"

She pointed at the bottle.

"The bottle?" Kaiser smirked. "I made it."

Yun Yun froze.

"…You made it?"

Kaiser nodded.

"Yep."

Yun Yun stared at him like he just told her he invented the sun.

"…Bullsh*t."

Kaiser shrugged.

"Believe what you want."

He was not about to explain plastic, manufacturing, and why milk bottles didn't exist here.

Yun Yun kept staring.

Then, she grabbed the bottle and inspected it.

"…What is this made of?"

Kaiser grinned.

"…Secret material."

Yun Yun's eye twitched.

"…You're so full of sh*t."

Kaiser laughed.

"I know."

Yun Yun sighed and gave the bottle back to the cub.

The cub happily sucked on it.

Yun Yun shook her head.

"…I don't have the energy for this."

Kaiser smirked.

"You'll get used to it."

Yun Yun groaned.

The cub meowed.

And breakfast continued in peace.

…For now.

Yun Yun was eating.

The cub was drinking its milk bottle.

Kaiser was suffering.

Everything should have been peaceful.

But peace? Not in this house.

Kaiser stared at the cub, who was happily drinking milk in Yun Yun's arms.

He squinted.

This little furball was supposed to be his.

But no. It rejected him. Ignored him. Scratched his nose.

And now?

It was cuddled up to Yun Yun, purring like it had found its true mother.

Kaiser's eye twitched.

This wasn't fair.

"…Oi."

No response.

He poked the cub.

Still no response.

He poked again.

The cub wriggled deeper into Yun Yun's embrace.

Kaiser felt his soul leave his body.

Yun Yun raised an eyebrow.

"…What are you doing?"

Kaiser crossed his arms.

"Trying to reclaim what's mine."

Yun Yun blinked.

Then, slowly, she looked down at the cub.

Then back at him.

"…You lost."

Kaiser flinched.

His pride? Gone.

His heart? Shattered.

The cub? Still ignoring him.

"…Tch."

But he wasn't giving up.

Not yet.

Kaiser vanished.

Yun Yun blinked.

"…?"

Before she could question it, he was back.

But this time—

He had a plate of meat.

Yun Yun stared.

The cub stared.

Kaiser grinned.

"Hey, little guy~" he waved a juicy piece of meat. "Come to Papa."

The cub tilted its head.

It sniffed the air.

Kaiser's grin widened.

Yes. Yes. Come to me.

The cub hopped down.

It walked toward him.

Kaiser's tail wagged.

"…That's right… Good boy…"

The cub reached his hand…

Kaiser smirked—

—And then it grabbed the meat and RAN BACK TO YUN YUN.

Kaiser: "…"

Yun Yun: "…"

The cub: **munch munch munch~ **

Kaiser dropped the plate.

His soul? Gone.

His will to live? Destroyed.

Yun Yun laughed.

"Even with food, you still lost."

Kaiser collapsed.

Face-down.

"…I hate this world."

Kaiser refused to accept it.

But reality slapped him in the face.

The cub had chosen Yun Yun.

It nuzzled into her chest like it was the safest place in the world.

Meanwhile, Kaiser?

Completely forgotten.

The worst part?

Yun Yun was smug about it.

She tilted her head.

"Aren't you a big, strong man? And yet, even a baby beast prefers me."

Kaiser groaned.

"I swear I'll turn this world upside down."

Yun Yun snickered.

She scratched the cub's ears as it purred against her.

"…Face it. You lost to a woman."

Kaiser grabbed his heart.

"…I'm going to die."

Yun Yun smirked.

"Good."

Kaiser flopped on the floor.

Defeated.

The Cub Must Be Mine!

Kaiser refused to accept his loss.

The cub was his.

Yet, here it was—snuggled up to Yun Yun like she was its true parent.

This was not how things were supposed to go.

And so, in an act of pure desperation—

Kaiser abducted Yun Yun

In one swift motion, his tail wrapped around her waist and—

"?!"

Yun Yun yelped as he lifted her up.

The cub blinked.

Before she could react—he tossed her onto the couch.

She bounced against the cushions, completely caught off guard.

Kaiser, grinning like a fool, turned to the cub.

"Now… Let's see if you can ignore me now."

The cub stared.

Yun Yun stared.

Kaiser felt proud.

Until—

"…You IDIOT!"

A pillow slammed into his face.

Kaiser staggered. "The hell was that fo—"

And then—

His brain caught up.

Yun Yun was…

Naked.

Pure, Unfiltered Panic

Kaiser froze.

Yun Yun froze.

The room went silent.

Kaiser's tail uncurled so fast he nearly fell over.

His face turned red.

Yun Yun's face turned red.

The cub? Still drinking milk, completely oblivious.

Kaiser slowly raised a hand.

"…Okay."

He took a deep breath.

"I can explain."

Yun Yun glared.

Her fingers twitched.

"…You have three seconds."

Kaiser gulped.

"…I forgot."

Silence.

Then—

"YOU FORGOT?!"

Kaiser immediately backed away.

"Look! It's not like I meant to—"

Yun Yun grabbed the nearest thing—

Which just so happened to be another pillow.

She launched it at his face.

Kaiser dodged.

"Oi! Calm down—"

WHACK!

The next thing he knew, Yun Yun lunged forward—

But her foot slipped.

Gravity Wins Again

In one tragic moment, everything fell apart.

Yun Yun lost balance.

Kaiser tried to catch her.

Instead—

She crashed right on top of him.

Their bodies pressed together.

Silence.

Again.

Kaiser stared at her.

Yun Yun stared at him.

The cub? Still happily drinking milk, completely unaware of the absolute disaster unfolding.

Kaiser couldn't move.

Because if he moved—

Something was definitely going to touch something.

Yun Yun realized this at the same time.

Her face turned even redder.

"…G-Get off."

Kaiser nodded aggressively.

"Y-Yeah, good idea."

Neither of them moved.

Because now they were too aware of just how close they were.

And Then—

The cub, done with its milk, yawned.

It looked over.

Saw them tangled together.

And, as if mocking Kaiser's entire existence—

It hopped onto Yun Yun's back… and curled up.

Kaiser: "…"

Yun Yun: "…"

The cub: purrs contently

Kaiser knew, in that moment… he had lost again.
