Chapter 8 - I'll kiss an Alpha!

"You look so nice…" Jaden said as he stared at Kael.

Kaelith was dressed in baggy jeans and the white crop top they had debated over, while Jaden wore black baggy jeans and a grey t-shirt.

After dressing up, they left the room. Jaden drove them out of the college, and soon, they arrived at a street alive with vibrant lights. The club was just ahead.

Kaelith had made sure to use three suppressants, uncertain of what he might experience in the club.

Jaden stepped out of the car, followed by Kaelith. As Kael took a breath of the air around the nightclub, his breathing stiffened, and he paused for a moment.

His face scrunched up as different pheromones assaulted him. He could distinguish the scent of an Alpha from that of an Omega, and the Alphas were currently overwhelming his senses.

"Breathe in, breathe out…" he told himself, and it seemed to work.

"Are you okay?" Jaden asked, stepping back as he noticed Kael's discomfort.

"Yes, I'm good now," Kaelith nodded after finally steadying himself.

Jaden and Kaelith entered the club. Music blasted from the speakers, and on one side, people were grinding against each other on the dance floor. Others sat in groups, drinking and chatting, while some sat in pairs at the bar. The atmosphere was lively.

Jaden walked further into the room and spotted three people seated on one of the club's group sofas.

"Those are them," Jaden gestured toward the three men. Kaelith followed him, and they stopped before the three men.

As soon as Kaelith got closer, his nose was assaulted again. Coming to a club where pheromones lingered in the air was probably a bad idea. However, on the bright side, it could be seen as an act of training himself to endure Alpha pheromones without losing control.

Kaelith exhaled, stabilizing his breathing before looking at the three men.

Gesturing toward them, Jaden introduced, "On the right is Joff, in the middle is Dante, and the third is Felix. They're my friends. We met in a group and have been catching up since."

Kaelith nodded. "I'm Kaelith."

The first guy, Joff, stretched out his hand. "Nice to meet you."

"Thank you," Kaelith said, shaking his hand. Jaden then sat down, followed by Kael.

Dante started a conversation. "So, Kaelith, how did you meet Jaden?"

As he asked, he handed Kaelith a drink. Kaelith took the glass, twirled the liquid, and asked, "Alcohol?"

"Yes," Dante chuckled.

Kaelith took a sip, his face scrunching slightly at the bitterness. Then, he looked at Dante, "The same way you guys met: online. We connected while writing the entrance exam for college."

"The alcohol is bitter, I get it. Omegas tend to like sweet things," Joff looked at Kaelith as he said.

'Why would he say that…?' Kaelith's brows arched at his words. That only made him gulp down the drink in one go, which worsened matters as Joff added, "Easy, don't drink too much, or you'll get drunk fast. Omegas tend to have low alcohol tolerance."

"Huh?" Kaelith was confused by that comment. He stretched his cup toward Joff, "Pour me more."

As he gulped it down, he felt his throat slightly parched and his head heavy.

'Already drunk?' he groaned inwardly, but his train of thought was interrupted by Dante's question.

"So, since you're in the same college as Jaden, how is it being in a mixed school? Isn't it oppressive, having to share classes with Alphas?"

Joff added, looking at Kaelith, "Yeah, most Omegas I know complain about staying in the same place as Alphas. So how exactly are you surviving?"

"Huh?" Kaelith mumbled, unsure of what Jaden's friends were implying.

Dante smiled, crossing his legs. "I mean, you're an Omega. It must take a toll on you, having to mix with them. It's also surprising that you're friends with Jaden and agreed to meet us today, considering that we're Alphas."

As soon as he said those words, Jaden burst into laughter. He looked at Kaelith and said, "Sorry."

"It's okay," Kaelith replied with a chuckle, then smiled at Dante.

He finally understood what they had been hinting at: the alcohol tolerance, the taste preferences, and the school environment.

'Are they ignorant, or do they just want to mock me because I'm a frail Alpha?' Kael pondered. However, he couldn't think too much about it due to the alcohol clouding his mind.

His face already flushed, he lied to maintain his disguise. "You seem to be mistaken. I'm not an Omega, so I don't have to worry about being around Alphas or their pheromones."

"Huh?" The three Alphas' jaws dropped. Kaelith had been wrong, Jaden didn't tell them anything. They had all simply assumed he was an Omega.

Jaden grinned, stepping into the conversation. "You see, I had the same reaction when I first met him. He's got that soft, Omega-like body that makes it hard to believe he's an Alpha. Even his voice. But it is what it is. And the funny thing? His pheromones are so strong that he has to use suppressants."

Kaelith sipped his wine in embarrassment, his hand tugging at his hair. 'Why did Jaden have to mention the suppressants? Even if Jaden was clueless, others might not be…'

As he feared, one of them suddenly said, "I don't believe that. You are definitely not an Alpha."

Kaelith choked on his drink at the accusation. He wiped his mouth, picked up a fresh bottle of strong alcohol, and downed it before looking at Joff, who had spoken.

His cheeks were flushed, his head felt fuzzy, and his thoughts were a mess. All he wanted to do was go home and sleep, but now he had to deal with people convinced he was an Omega.

"Why do you think that? I said I'm an Alpha. Isn't that enough? Why would I lie?" he blurted out, all his suppressed emotions concerning his disguise surfacing.

Joff responded calmly, unaware of how much his words bothered Kaelith. "For many reasons. You don't look like an Alpha at all, your voice is too soft, your body too frail, your face too cute, and your height… short," he explained.

Kaelith's cheeks burned at the comment, and he smirked, the alcohol already working. "Ah… you mean I have an effect on you. You'd rather believe I'm an Omega than admit you're attracted to an Alpha."

"What?" Joff scoffed. "Yes, you're a fine man, but I'm not gay."

"Yes, yes, but it seems my features are messing with you," Kaelith teased, laughing drunkenly. "You'd rather call me an Omega just to feel at ease about your attraction."

Joff's expression tightened, but Kaelith turned to Jaden, slurring, "What can I do to prove I'm not an Omega?"

"You're drunk," Jaden said. "And you don't need to prove anything."

Then he turned to Joff, "You should also drop it, why are you being so stubborn and adamant?!"

"No! I need to, or they'll keep thinking I'm an Omega!" Kaelith suddenly shouted. He stood up and faced the three Alphas.

"I'll tell you this."

He grinned mischievously, his drunkenness fueling his reckless behavior. If he were sober, he would have ignored the argument, as he was already walking on thin ice.

But what kind of confidence is this?

He stood his ground and looked at Dante. "I'll show you that I'm an Alpha. That I can be an Omega when I want and an Alpha too."

"Huh?" They all looked confused.

"How does one do that?" Jaden mumbled, sipping his drink.

"I'll kiss an Alpha!"

"What?!" Jaden choked on his wine.

Kaelith's gaze shifted to someone entering the club. "Right now, I see a tall Alpha walking in, handsome and fine as hell."

Jaden stood abruptly, brushing off the drink he spilled. He grabbed Kaelith's glass and set it down. "How does that prove anything?"

Dante added, "If you kiss an Alpha, wouldn't that just prove you're an Omega? Most Alphas don't feel attraction toward the same dynamic, but in rare cases, it happens. If you're trying to prove you're an Alpha, you'll need a better plan than kissing another Alpha."

"Shut up!" Kaelith yelled. "I'll kiss the Alpha standing by the entrance right now, and he'll push me away."

As soon as he spoke, he left his seat and strode toward the entrance. Jaden and the three Alphas followed his gaze, and Jaden's breath hitched.

"What the fuck! Alpha Leonhardt? Is he insane?" Jaden exclaimed.

"Isn't getting shoved away the only possible outcome when someone kisses Leonhardt?" Joff asked, sipping his drink. "Or what exactly is he trying to prove?"

"I need to stop him before he gets kicked unconscious," Jaden said, ready to stand, but Dante stopped him.

"Relax. If he gets kicked, he'll stand assuming Leonhardt doesn't kick too hard," Felix added.

"Ermm… he's definitely an Alpha, I guess…" Jaden muttered, sipping his wine. "So, he's safe."

Kaelith felt as though his legs had been cut off as he walked to the entrance, his eyes on the fine specimen that had just entered and stayed glued to the door. He wasn't sure why he was doing this; he knew he wasn't supposed to do anything, but perhaps it was the wine or the anger of always being called an Omega. He just wanted to prove something tonight, and the worst part was that he wasn't even sure what he was proving.

"I shouldn't be doing this... It's definitely the wine.." he mumbled as he strode toward him.

And then, Kaelith reached the man standing by the door. As he got closer, a strong pheromone attack hit him. He wasn't sure why it was so easy to smell the pheromones in the room.

"Is it because of the wine?" He mumbled again.

He licked his soft pink lips as he saw the fine specimen in front of him. His face was well-contoured, and he looked to be annoyed about something, with a frown on his face, but Kaelith didn't look too much. He stood before him, and the man's brows arched. His lips parted, about to ask something, but they were forcefully closed when Kaelith's lips met his.
