However, his elder brother, Hashirama, clearly did not share the same sentiment.
At that moment, Hashirama's face was filled with emotion, tears welling up in his eyes. His thoughts raced: "Madara, you haven't forgotten our promise after all. You must be here to help me, right? Maybe… maybe this is the first step towards peace between the Senju and Uchiha."
Seeing that both the Senju elders and the Uzumaki elders were leaning towards remaining neutral, Hashirama decisively spoke up: "Elders, we've already made enemies of the Kaguya. Why not seize this chance to ally with the Uchiha and crush them once and for all?"
"There's no need," replied the Senju Great Elder. "The Kaguya have already suffered tremendous losses in this war. Their homeland was attacked by the Uchiha, and they won't recover for at least a decade."
Hashirama found himself at a loss for words but was unwilling to let go of this rare opportunity to fight alongside Madara.
Akio noticed Hashirama's hesitation and, after some thought, decided to help him out. "Sigh, I wonder what kind of treasures the Uchiha will find in the Kaguya's land."
As soon as he said this, the Senju elders wavered. After a brief hesitation, the Senju Great Elder finally relented. "Fine. We can't let the Uchiha take all the spoils! Besides, we've already deployed so many people—it would be a waste not to act. All troops, move out!"
Hashirama's face lit up with joy, and in his heart, he thought, "Madara, wait for me."
After a short rest, the Senju and Uzumaki forces marched towards the Kaguya's land.
Roughly an hour later, they neared the Kaguya territory, where the sounds of battle echoed in the distance. It was clear that the Kaguya had already engaged the Uchiha.
The Uchiha were led by two elders—Uchiha Shinji, the Great Elder, and Uchiha Ikusa, the Third Elder. Naturally, Madara and Izuna were also present.
At that moment, Madara was locked in a fierce battle with the Kaguya Second Elder, while Izuna held the upper hand against the one-armed Kaguya Third Elder. However, against the raging Kaguya Jorai, the two Uchiha elders were completely overwhelmed.
Just then, Kaguya Jorai suddenly halted his assault and turned to look behind him—he had clearly sensed the arrival of the Senju and Uzumaki forces.
It was only now that the Uchiha elders noticed their arrival. Seeing the formidable lineup before them, their expressions darkened.
"Hmph, Senju Mizuma, are you here to reap the benefits after we've done all the fighting?" Uchiha Shinji scoffed at the Senju Great Elder.
"And you dare to say that after attacking your ally's homeland while we were fighting the Kaguya?" Senju Mizuma retorted.
Uchiha Shinji fell silent—after all, they were indeed at fault.
"Senju, Uchiha… you're all the same! Do you really think my Kaguya clan is just a lamb to be slaughtered?!" Kaguya Jorai, who had been ignored for too long, roared in fury.
"Dance of the Clematis! Dance of the Camellia!" He charged straight at the coalition forces.
"Water Release—Water Shield!" Senju Mizuma didn't dare to take Jorai's bone spikes head-on and instead deflected him using a special water-based defense—sending him straight toward the two Uchiha elders.
Left with no choice, the two Uchiha elders had to join the fight.
As if coming to a mutual understanding, the three Senju elders and two Uzumaki elders also joined in on the attack against Kaguya Jorai.
Now facing seven clan leader-level opponents, Kaguya Jorai abandoned all restraint, pushing his Shikotsumyaku to its limits, heedless of the toll on his body. Even so, the seven opponents struggled to bring him down.
On another part of the battlefield, Hashirama had already rushed to Madara's side, choosing to fight alongside his best friend. The Kaguya Second Elder, already battered from battling Madara's Susanoo and Hashirama's Wood Release, was accumulating more and more wounds.
Tobirama, however, did not assist Izuna; instead, he focused on exterminating the other Kaguya warriors. Though not yet fully proficient in the Flying Thunder God Technique, he was still an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
Seeing their overwhelming advantage, Akio, whose arm was injured, refrained from fighting and observed from the sidelines.
"Haaah!" Kaguya Jorai let out a furious roar, breaking free from the siege. As he surveyed the battlefield and saw the dwindling numbers of his clan, his face twisted in grief and anger.
"All Kaguya warriors! The Land of Fire no longer welcomes us. Retreat eastward! Cross the ocean and rebuild in the Land of Water!"
"Second Elder! Once I fall, you will be the clan leader. Lead our people, regain our strength, and avenge our fallen kin when the time comes!"
"Clan Leader, you should lead the retreat! I can use the Bone Prison Jutsu to hold them off!" the Kaguya Second Elder protested.
"No! I've pushed my Shikotsumyaku too far—my bloodline disease has worsened beyond saving. Leave me behind and take the clan to safety. We can't afford to lose any more people!" Kaguya Jorai rejected his plea.
"Senju! Uchiha! Forbidden Jutsu—Bone Petrification Technique!" Jorai roared as he activated another forbidden technique of the Kaguya clan.
A layer of white bone armor engulfed his entire body, leaving only his eyes exposed. His speed and strength surged drastically, and he no longer dodged incoming attacks—meeting them head-on instead. His defensive power had reached terrifying levels.
Finding no way to break through his armor, the seven opponents were slowly pushed back.
Seeing this, Hashirama and Madara abandoned their pursuit of the fleeing Kaguya Second Elder and joined the fray.
"You brats are still too weak!" Jorai sneered as he shattered Madara's Susanoo with a bone spike. If not for Hashirama's Wood Release momentarily restraining him, Madara might have been seriously injured.
In the Warring States period, four individuals were recognized as the strongest: Senju Butsuma, Uchiha Tajima, Kaguya Jorai, and Hyuga Tennin. Who among them was the strongest remained a matter of debate.
"No… In this form, Jorai is undoubtedly the strongest," Akio murmured in shock as he watched from afar. "This must be the peak of power before the era of the twin gods. If only I could attain this level… then even the overpowered threats of the Fourth Shinobi War wouldn't be able to one-shot me…"
The battle raged on for half an hour before Kaguya Jorai finally succumbed to his bloodline disease.
Akio, who had entered the battlefield four times, managed to save the two Uzumaki elders, as well as Hashirama and Madara. The remaining five warriors were all severely wounded and nearly drained of chakra. But at long last, Jorai was dragged to his death.
Elsewhere, the battle had long since ended. The Kaguya Third Elder perished, while the Second Elder led the remaining clan members into the sea.
