Chapter 24 - The Creation Of Marque

Back at the ruins of Ali's destroyed home, Wrath stood silently in the storm, towering and unmoving. His claws twitched, blood soaking the wooden floor beneath him. His breathing was like rusted gears grinding inside a furnace.

Then something called to him. A whisper only he could hear. It came not from the world, but from somewhere deeper—something buried in memory and grief.

"You don't have to do this alone."

Wrath's eyes flickered.

The voice was familiar. Soft. Gentle.

"You've done your part, my love. Let me carry some of the pain now."

In his mind's eye, Wrath saw her: Nara, Mark's Love of His Life. Her image burned bright in the darkness—smiling, warm, kind.

But she had changed.

Michael had kept her memory safe. Even in his madness, he couldn't forget her. He had digitized her voice, kept recordings of her laughter. He used old photographs and home videos and memories to feed the machine in the basement. Just like he used himself to create Wrath, he had begun constructing Marque—a being made from Nara's image, but transformed into something divine and terrible.

Weeks before Lukas's funeral…

Michael kidnapped Nara after the funeral with the truck.

He hadn't slept in days. His hands were cracked and bleeding from wiring circuits, his skin burned from solder. He had ripped apart every old device in their house—video recorders, phones, toys—anything that had Nara's voice on it.

He used AI speech software, mixing her tones and mannerisms. He used her handwriting and her diaries to form the foundation of her personality. Then he did what no man should do: he fed all of it into the resonance engine—a machine he was building alongside his monstrous transformation.

He called it The Memory Conduit—a grotesque cross between machine and shrine. Four curved steel arms surrounded a floating core. Inside the core, fluid like mercury pulsed with emotion, memory, and code. DNA samples from Elizabeth were suspended in the mix, preserved in her old hairbrush, a toothbrush… and her wedding ring, which he melted into the circuit housing.

Then, like a mad priest, he spoke the words: "Bring her back to me."

There was a moment of silence. Then a voice rang out from the machine.

"Michael… where is my boy?"

Now, weeks later, that voice had taken form. She was no longer just data.

The air around Wrath shimmered. A gust of wind blew through the destroyed remains of the house. From the shadows, something stepped out—graceful, tall, inhuman.

She was beautiful and horrifying.

Her body looked human at first glance, but with closer inspection, she seemed too symmetrical. Her skin was pale and glass-like, pulsing with soft blue light beneath the surface. Her hair flowed as if underwater, and her eyes held no pupils—only pools of white fire. Her dress shimmered like black oil, stitched together with whispers and static.

Wrath turned to her.

"…Nara?"

"No. Not anymore," she whispered. "You named yourself Wrath. I am your answer. I am what you lost. I am your love—remade in grief."

Her voice was calm, but powerful. It echoed unnaturally, layered like a thousand voices speaking at once.

"I am Marque."

Wrath dropped to one knee before her, his mechanical form hissing and steaming. A low growl escaped his throat—not of submission, but of reverence.

"I built you," he said.

"And I built myself from your pain," Marque replied.

She stepped closer and placed her hand against his monstrous face. Her touch sizzled, but Wrath didn't flinch.

"You were never supposed to suffer alone, my love," she said. "Let me help you finish what they started. Let me destroy the ones who broke our son."

Wrath looked toward the forest.

"9 more," he growled. "The gang members..."

Marque smiled. Her lips split wide, far too wide. Her teeth glinted like glass.

"Then let's finish the story."

They both crawled away from their position and hunted down the last 9.

Enzo, Bee, Dina and Marco have already hid when they also realized that the gang is being hunted down.

"We're so fucked up" Enzo said anxiously.

While Freddie, Slick and Tino are outside— eating in a restaurant. Their faces were all satisfied from the food. Spaghetti with mozzarella cheese was the best dish they said. They didn't know, Marque was already inside the restaurant. Waiting for them to notice something suspicious.

"This tastes so good!" Slick yelled.

The people inside the restaurant applaud from his confidence. Marque was just sitting in the corner of the table. Sitting alone. Staring at them in hunger. Many things were running through her mind. "They smell so good." "I want to eat them" "I'll make their fingers as spoon" "I'd love to kill them on the spot"

A waiter came to her and asked "What can I get you?"

She replied coldly with a "Them."

"M-Ma'am, who's them?"

"That three fuckers in Table 8."

"Oh, sorry. We don't distract our customers."

"Give them to me!" Marque shouted with anger.

Her hands stretched and went towards the table where the three where sitting. She pulled it and threw it on the window.

"The fuck's wrong with you? Weirdo!" Freddie yelled at her. Marque didn't liked it.

She came up to them and grabbed Freddie's neck, he choked to death. His mouth was drooling saliva and his eyes becoming white. His face also became violet as he was being choked.

The people inside the restaurant panicked and left the store while Slick and Tino was just standing there and watching his friend die.

"Karma?" Tino told Slick.

"No." Slick grabbed a knife and stabbed Tino in the head. Tino just stared blankly in him. His expression was also blank. Perhaps it was mixed with fear and anger.

Slick laughed while he stabbing Tino continuously in the head. He continued to say the word "Bitch". The voice of his was raising every stab of the fork. Then, he hit the final blow and shouted it!

Marque dropped Freddie and grabbed Slick back to Harrington's basement. They teleported as if she had a superpower.

"I've brought the one that will change everything from you, Mr. Harrington."

Marque strapped Slick in a bed and carried it towards the tube. Lukas's body was beside him when he looked at his side. He screamed out of terror but no one can hear him. His screams were all muffled by the tape.

"I can finally see you back again, son."
