Oh yeah I think this is where I introduce myself. My name is liang Shen from the Liang family ,I'm sort of royalty you see but I was kicked out from my kingdom for being unworthy and powerless, I didn't possess any magical ability or martial arts and my so called fiance abandoned me and married my brother instead. Damn that girl she only liked me cause she believed I would be the king. I fled my kingdom , leaving behind my sweet juicy life in pain and anguish and I came down to Jinhai. Where I learnt different ways to survive on my own..I'm sort of a scammer now, a cheat , a liar and whatever else you could call me...nobody knows my true identity here or that I'm even related to the Liang family.
Assassins have been sent to kill me a couple of times and I somehow managed to survive of course.
Fast forward to the present I'm now in serious debt and I've been tricked into releasing the demon eye Xu Wen and we both are now currently in a battle of tongues you see
-----------------------------------------------
"This is your fault," Liang Shen muttered under his breath.
"My fault?" Xu Wen scoffed. "You're the one who came to steal , and said, 'Ooh, what's this cursed-looking box?'"
"I didn't break it intentionally. I thought there'd be some kind of treasure or artifact inside the box, not... eyeball possession! That damn old man!... I'll get my revenge when I see you" he raised his fist as if making a declaration
Xu Wen scoffed.
"Well, technically, I AM a treasure. The ultimate treasure of chaos and clairvoyance," Xu Wen said with a hint of smugness in his tone.
Liang Shen stopped walking. "Nahh you're just a floating, sarcastic eye demon, who's now living rent-free in my face. How is that even a treasure? I think I am the treasure here "
"Because I grant you powers.. powers beyond your feeble comprehension, mortal."
"Okay, well feeble comprehension is all I have. So explain it like I'm five."
Xu Wen sighed dramatically. "You now have the ability to see beyond sight. Realms unknown. Spirits, secrets, lies, and fate itself and so much more beyond your tiny brain."
Liang Shen tilted his head. "Can I see lottery numbers from the future?"
"No."
He kicked a rock. "Use-LESS."
Just then, a flicker of movement appeared in the corner of his vision—one of the skeletons was moving again, twitching oddly. But this one wasn't laughing or attempting to attack. It was... bowing?.
It knelt on one knee, then another skeletal figure did the same. More rose from the piles of bones, bending before him in eerie silence and their right hands on their chest.
"Uh... Xu Wen. What's happening?"
"They recognize their new vessel," Xu Wen whispered, smug again. "They kneel before me, not you. Get it?"
"Cool, cool.So does that mean they won't eat me anymore?."
"For now."
"Oh, perfect. Nothing builds confidence like temporary safety."
Liang Shen turned, now seeing the once-ominous ruins in a new light. The broken bones and cryptic symbols felt less like a death trap and more like a really weird job interview. One he accidentally passed.
As he walked toward the archway of bones, the wall shimmered. On instinct, he reached out—and his demon eye pulsed.
The wall vanished into mist.
He blinked. "Huh."
Xu Wen's voice hummed. "You've only tasted a sliver of your potential. The eye grants passage through illusions, truths through lies, and visions no sane man should see."
"That last part didn't sound great."
"Then prepare yourself, vessel. For the path ahead is riddled with curses, hunters, and chaos."
