Chapter 16 - The chain of desire

Elena's breath trembled against Noah's lips.

Her body was frozen, too stunned to move.

Her hands—

They remained limp against his chest, neither pulling him closer nor pushing him away.

And Noah?

He didn't stop.

Didn't hesitate.

His lips pressed against hers with unyielding hunger.

Desperate.

Broken.

Possessive.

He poured his madness into the kiss.

His fingers buried into her hair, holding her in place.

As if—

Letting her go would destroy him.

And somehow—

She didn't fight him.

Didn't resist.

Her body was trembling violently, too weak to push him away.

Too torn apart to care.

Her fingernails curled into his chest, gripping his shirt.

Her lips trembled faintly beneath his, but she didn't stop him.

Didn't pull away.

And when he deepened the kiss—

Her knees buckled slightly beneath her.

Noah's arm snapped around her waist, pulling her closer.

His lips grew hungrier, more demanding.

But then—

Without warning—

She suddenly jerked back, her chest heaving violently.

Her hand flew to her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Her lips were swollen and trembling, her breath ragged.

"Stop."

Her voice was hoarse and broken, barely a whisper.

Noah's eyes darkened, his breath shallow and uneven.

But he didn't let go.

Didn't move away.

Instead—

He slowly pressed his forehead against hers, his eyes tightly shut.

"I can't, Elena…"

His voice was low and raw, trembling faintly.

"I can't let you go."

Her chest tightened violently, her throat closing up.

"You have to."

Her voice was weak, barely audible.

"Please… Noah… let me go."

But he didn't.

He cupped her face, his thumbs brushing away the tears streaming down her cheeks.

And when he spoke again—

His voice was barely above a whisper.

"You're already mine. Whether you accept it or not."

His eyes were wild, desperate.

"I don't care if you hate me, Elena. I'll still keep you."

Her breath caught violently, her hands trembling.

And that—

That broke her.

Her chest heaved with quiet sobs, her shoulders shaking violently.

"You're a monster."

Her voice was barely a whisper, trembling with brokenness.

But he didn't deny it.

Didn't argue.

He simply stared at her, his eyes void of guilt.

Void of regret.

Just raw, relentless obsession.

And when he finally released her—

He slowly backed away, his eyes still burning into hers.

Without another word—

He turned and stormed out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

Elena's legs buckled, and she collapsed to the floor.

Her fingers curled into the carpet, her chest heaving violently.

And this time—

She didn't scream.

Didn't beg.

Didn't cry out.

She just sobbed silently, her body trembling violently.

---

Hours Later…

The room was pitch-black, except for the faint moonlight spilling through the window.

Elena sat on the edge of the bed, her arms wrapped around her knees.

Her eyes were bloodshot, swollen from crying.

Her body was trembling faintly, her breath uneven.

She hadn't slept.

Hadn't eaten.

She just… sat there.

And then—

She heard it.

The soft creak of the door slowly opening.

Her head snapped up sharply, her breath catching violently.

Her eyes were wide with dread, her chest tightening.

And when she saw who it was—

Her blood turned ice-cold.

Noah.

Again.

But this time—

His eyes were different.

Colder.

Darker.

Deadlier.

Her fingers clenched tightly, her chest tightening painfully.

"What do you want now?"

Her voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper.

But he didn't answer.

Didn't speak.

He simply stalked toward her, his movements slow and lethal.

Elena's breath caught sharply, her legs trembling violently.

She slowly backed away, her voice trembling.

"Noah… don't. Please."

But he didn't stop.

Didn't slow down.

And when he finally stood in front of her—

He slowly crouched down, his face only inches from hers.

His fingers curled around her chin, forcing her to look at him.

And then—

He whispered darkly, his voice low and lethal.

"You can run… but I'll always find you."

Her eyes widened violently, her breath catching sharply.

"I'll never let you go."

His voice was hoarse, trembling faintly.

And before she could push him away—

His lips suddenly crashed against hers, punishing and brutal.

Elena's body went rigid, her hands trembling violently.

She fought him, pushing against his chest.

But he didn't release her.

Didn't loosen his grip.

His arms tightened around her, pulling her closer.

His lips were ruthless, consuming her.

Taking.

Claiming.

Her breath came in short, ragged gasps, her hands fisting into his shirt.

And when he finally pulled back slightly—

His forehead pressed against hers, their breaths mingling violently.

His voice was low and broken, barely a whisper.

"I'll never let you go, Elena. Even if you hate me."

Her eyes burned violently, her chest aching with suffocating pain.

Her fingers trembled, clutching his shirt.

But she didn't fight him.

Didn't push him away.

Didn't scream.

Because this time—

She was too broken to resist.

---

Elena is slowly losing her fight, her defiance crumbling beneath Noah's relentless obsession.

Her body and mind are exhausted, and despite her hatred—

Her heart is betraying her.
