"Creak~"

The heavy wooden door slowly opened, and Li Qianqian peeked out with red and swollen eyes. When she saw Ke Bei standing at the door, she was stunned for a moment, and then rushed forward suddenly, throwing herself into Ke Bei's arms.

"Woohoo~ I thought you, I thought you wouldn't come back. My father is gone, and I don't want to be without a home..."

Li Qianqian lay in Ke Bei's arms, tears streaming down her face, and sobbed as she spoke.

It's very difficult for a weak woman to survive in the apocalypse. Now that she finally found someone to rely on, Ke Bei didn't come back last night. This made Li Qianqian think that Ke Bei had met with an accident, so she lost her composure so much when she saw him.

"I'm fine. It's okay, it's okay. I'm really fine."

Li Qianqian's sudden action made Ke Bei a little flustered. Feeling the warmth and softness in his arms, Ke Bei blushed a little and was in an awkward situation. It wasn't right to push her away, and it wasn't right not to.

"I, I'll go cook for you..."

After crying in Ke Bei's arms for a while and calming down a bit, Li Qianqian finally realized something was wrong. Her little face turned red, and she said timidly.

Looking at the shy girl who fled away, Ke Bei couldn't help but feel a bit amused.

"Ah, it seems there will be a lot of trouble in the future."

Looking at the only big bed in the room, Ke Bei scratched his head, let out a sigh, and wondered if he should change the house.

He used to live with Old Beard, and the two big men didn't think much of it. Now that there was suddenly a girl, Ke Bei always felt a bit uncomfortable.

After simply eating two pieces of black bread and drinking a bowl of hot soup, Ke Bei hugged his broadsword and reclined on the simple deck chair placed at the door, lazily basking in the sun, pondering over every detail of the fierce fight against the zombies yesterday, trying to find out the reason why the broadsword became sharp.

"What on earth is going on?"

Ke Bei frowned tightly and recalled it carefully, but still didn't find anything unusual.

"The situation was too critical at that time. I didn't think about anything at all. I just focused on fighting for my life..."

Flicking the broad blade lightly, Ke Bei shook his head helplessly. He really couldn't figure out why the broadsword suddenly became sharp.

"Wait a minute, fighting for my life?"

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration flashed through Ke Bei's mind.

"Fighting for my life, fighting for my life means bleeding. Could it be..." Ke Bei suddenly sat up.

"Could it be because it was stained with my blood?"

Ke Bei looked at the rusty broadsword and wasn't sure.

"Let's give it a try."

He picked up the broadsword and gently made a cut on his arm. Bright red blood oozed out and dripped onto the blade, looking like a blood-colored plum blossom.

"Bang"

Ke Bei casually swung the broadsword and chopped at the triangular iron supporting the deck chair. Sparks flew, and a clear metallic collision sound followed. The deck chair remained intact.

"That's strange. There's no change. It's not because of my blood. Then what on earth is the reason?" Ke Bei racked his brains but still couldn't figure it out.

At this moment, Ke Bei was in a very gloomy mood. With a sullen face, he didn't say a word, and his mind was racing as he recalled the scene at that time again. But he didn't notice that from the small wound on his arm made by the broadsword, a drop of bright red blood flowed down his arm onto his palm, and finally stained the wooden handle of the broadsword.

"Damn it, what the hell is going on?"

After carefully thinking about it again, he still didn't find anything. In frustration, Ke Bei swung the broadsword and chopped down.

"Pu~~ Dong"

Two different sounds almost rang out at the same time. The first sound was the sound of Ke Bei hitting the triangular iron frame, and the second sound was the sound of the deck chair collapsing.

"Hahaha, so that's it. I understand, I understand."

The deck chair suddenly collapsed, and dust flew up. Ke Bei had straw on his head and was covered in dust on his face, looking a bit embarrassed. But he didn't care at all. He raised the broadsword and laughed maniacally towards the sky.

"So my blood really works. The handle, the handle is the key."

Ke Bei stared at the wooden handle of the broadsword with an excited expression.

Now that the secret of the broadsword becoming sharp had been discovered, Ke Bei couldn't wait to go and hunt zombies. With the sharp broadsword in his hand, he could definitely complete the task of killing the red-haired zombie quickly. Then he could draw a lottery again and obtain martial arts skills.

"I'm leaving. Take care of yourself."

Ke Bei carried the broadsword on his back, shouted at Li Qianqian, and rushed out of the city towards the outside in a hurry.

...............

This time Ke Bei didn't go to Chenzhai Town again. The density of zombies there was a bit low. He didn't dare to go to places with a lot of zombies before because his strength was too weak. But now it was different!

He had the flying knife technique for long-range attacks and the sharp broadsword for close combat. As long as he wasn't surrounded by dozens of zombies, he had nothing to be afraid of.

"Go to the Mass Grave."

Touching the broadsword slung diagonally behind his back, Ke Bei left Lingfeng City and went straight south.

The Mass Grave was similar to Chenzhai Town. Both were places where low-level red-name zombies gathered. The difference was that there were more zombies there, but generally higher-level zombies wouldn't appear.

As long as he didn't encounter the green-haired zombie, the ordinary red-haired zombies posed no threat to Ke Bei now.

"Roar~~ Roar~~"

It was already afternoon, and the sun was setting. The zombies appeared more and more frequently. Listening to the roars in his ears, Ke Bei's expression remained unchanged. He was already used to it.

On a small path in the withered grass, Ke Bei walked forward calmly, ignoring the occasional roars.

"Roar"

Suddenly, less than three meters away from Ke Bei, a roar sounded. Three red-haired zombies suddenly leaped out from the withered grass. They were attracted by the smell on Ke Bei.

This time Ke Bei didn't sprinkle the powder that could cover up his smell on his body. There was no need to do that until he reached the Mass Grave.

Looking at the red-haired zombies with their fangs bared and looking ferocious, Ke Bei snorted disdainfully. A willow-leaf flying knife appeared in his hand. He made a gentle cut, and a small wound appeared. A drop of bright red blood oozed out and fell onto the handle of the broadsword.

"Roar"

The three red-haired zombies roared at the same time. Their dark and sharp claws stretched out and they pounced on Ke Bei fiercely.

"Die"

The broadsword in his palm slashed horizontally. The blade carried a faint silver light and slashed heavily on the zombie's arm. Almost without any obstruction, the zombie's arm was directly cut off. He stepped across and the broadsword in his hand slashed diagonally upwards. A head flew up, and dark green and stinky blood spurted out.

Ke Bei only made one slash and easily killed a ferocious zombie.

"Roar Roar"

The other two red-haired zombies roared and their long fangs bit towards Ke Bei's neck.

"Pu Pu"

His body turned, and he skillfully used the intercepting knife technique to easily intercept the momentum of the zombies' pounce. Then the broadsword in his hand stabbed upwards suddenly and slid gently across the necks of the two red-haired zombies. Two more columns of blood shot up.

In just two breaths, the three zombies were easily beheaded by Ke Bei.

"Tsk tsk, it's really great to have a good knife... But, damn it, I have to hurt myself every time. It's so frustrating."

He tore off a piece of his clothes to bandage the small wound on his palm, and Ke Bei let out a helpless sigh.

There was no other way. If the broadsword wasn't sharp, he couldn't break through the defense of the red-haired zombies at all. Unless he used the flying knife to directly hit the weak point between the zombie's eyebrows.

"I have to complete the task as soon as possible. Once I draw the martial arts skills again, my strength will surely soar, and then I won't have to be so frustrated."

Ke Bei looked firmly at a small hill not far away and clenched his fists tightly. That was his destination this time, the Mass Grave.
