Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Journey to the capital

The morning sun, shyly, parted the curtains of Hastora's bedroom window. Its gentle rays slowly chased away the darkness, welcoming a morning that was still quiet. Seconds passed peacefully, accompanied only by the sweet chirping of birds in the garden a few meters from his bedroom window. Hastora was still sound asleep, his body lying on the soft bed. His breath was steady, indicating the depth of his sleep. His dark hair was slightly disheveled, adding a touch of weariness but still captivating. His handsome face looked peaceful, without a single wrinkle disturbing his tranquility. However, slowly, the increasingly bright sunlight began to penetrate the depths of his sleep. A small stretch, a blink of an eye, and Hastora began to awaken from his long sleep. He opened his eyes slowly, his gaze still slightly blurry, but soon returned to focus. Today, he would start the day with enthusiasm, without burdens, and with a strong determination to achieve his goals.

Hastora rose from his bed. He reached for a towel and walked out of his room towards the bathroom.

"Why are you carrying clothes? Shouldn't it be a towel?" asked Zarafel with a curious tone.

Hastora looked back at his belongings. It turned out that he was indeed carrying clothes. He seemed to have mistakenly thought that the clothes were a towel. He returned to his room and grabbed the actual towel, then went back to the bathroom.

"Hahaha, the great 'Great Demon Lord' can actually mistake clothes for a towel," Zarafel said, laughing. He found it funny to see Hastora mistaking clothes for a towel.

Hastora arrived at the bathroom. He removed his clothes and immediately soaked in the warm water.

"This is so refreshing," said Hastora while soaking.

"Why isn't your father here? Is he still asleep?" asked Zarafel with great curiosity.

"He's probably already finished showering. My mother would definitely scold him if he was still asleep," Hastora replied.

After soaking for fifteen minutes, he got out of the bath, dried himself, and hurried back to his room to put on his clothes.

...

"Which outfit do you think looks good on me today, Zarafel?" Hastora asked Zarafel.

"I think the white one, it looks good on you today," replied Zarafel while giving his suggestion.

Hastora took the outfit Zarafel suggested and put it on immediately. The outfit looked very good on him. The combination of black and white, truly looked cool. Feeling satisfied with his outfit, he left his room and descended the stairs one by one towards the lower floor.

On the lower floor, Ard, his father, was seen sitting on the sofa while enjoying his tea. Ard saw Hastora who had just come down from the upper floor, and told Hastora to have breakfast immediately because they were going to move to the capital.

"Hastora, you're awake. Have breakfast quickly, we're going to move to the capital soon," said Ard while sipping his tea.

Hastora was a little surprised to hear they were going to move to the capital. He asked his father for the reason.

"Father, why are we moving to the capital?" asked Hastora with curiosity.

"Of course, because you will be entering the academy tomorrow," Ard replied.

"But, why do we have to move to the capital? I'm just entering the academy," asked Hastora. He was even more curious about the reason for their move.

"Of course we have to move to the capital. Later, when you're on break from the academy, where will you stay?" Ard replied, explaining the purpose of their move.

"Of course I will come back here. Why do we have to go through the trouble of moving to the capital?" asked Hastora, trying to find the real reason.

"If you come back here during your break from the academy, it will definitely require a very long journey. You will be exhausted," explained Ard.

Hearing Ard's answer, Hastora felt that his father was being honest and had no other intentions. He immediately went to the dining table and enjoyed his breakfast.

...

After finishing his meal, his father got up from his seat, took his suitcase that was next to the door, and carried it outside.

"Hastora, we're moving to the capital today. Come out quickly, we're leaving," said Elsia, his mother, as she descended the stairs one by one from the upper floor to the lower floor.

Hearing that, Hastora immediately went out of the house and towards his father who was putting the suitcase in the carriage's trunk.

"It seems like I'll be meeting my older sister tomorrow at the academy," said Hastora while walking towards the carriage.

"That's right. Your older sister has been attending the academy for two years, hasn't she?" added Zarafel.

"Alright, let's go," Elsia invited, as she boarded the carriage.

After everyone boarded, the carriage they were riding in moved towards the capital. The carriage moved quickly, taking them towards the capital.

They passed the sea, forests, and towering mountains. It was visible that his father was examining his sword. He checked it in detail from end to end. The sword seemed to have a white hilt with a dark red blade.

"That sword looks beautiful too," said Zarafel, slightly praising Ard's sword. Zarafel wasn't wrong, Ard's sword did look beautiful and cool. The sword looked shiny and seemed to have strong energy. But, for Hastora, the sword just looked like a toy.

"That's just a toy. My real sword is even more awesome than that," Hastora replied, responding to Zarafel's praise for Ard's sword. According to him, Ard's sword was nothing compared to his real sword. Hearing Hastora mention his real sword, Zarafel became curious.

"Real sword? Do you have a very strong sword?" Zarafel asked with curiosity.

Hearing that, Hastora was actually reluctant to answer Zarafel's question. He didn't want to reveal too much about his true power. But, he still told Zarafel a little about his real sword. Just a little, nothing more than that.

"Of course. Do you think I don't have a real sword? I am the 'Great Demon Lord' Hastora, you know?"

"So, can you tell me a little about your real sword?" asked Zarafel with great curiosity.

"Sure, but I'll only tell you a little, nothing more than that. My real sword is a sword that can bring the world's order into disaster. That's because my sword can make the laws of the world unbalanced. That's all I can tell you, nothing more," Hastora replied, explaining a little about his real sword.

Zarafel became very curious about Hastora's real sword. He felt unsatisfied with Hastora's answer, he wanted more. Zarafel wanted Hastora to explain everything about his real sword.

"Wow! That's a very powerful and very cool sword. Can you tell me more? I'm getting more and more curious, you know!" exclaimed Zarafel, amazed by Hastora's real sword. According to him, Hastora's real sword was incredibly awesome.

"No, I won't tell you more than that. You'll know for yourself when you see it later," said Hastora, refusing Zarafel's request.

"Wow! When can I see it!?" exclaimed Zarafel with enthusiasm. His curiosity grew even bigger. He was already very impatient.

"I guess, when my power is enough to use that sword," Hastora replied.

Zarafel felt a little disappointed after hearing Hastora's answer. He felt it would be a long time to see Hastora's real sword. Zarafel chose to remain silent and not ask anything else to Hastora. Hastora also seemed to be reluctant to talk, he was currently focusing on the scenery outside.
