Inside the laboratory...
The security personnel, remembering the stories of Captain America's power, were overwhelmed by fear and kept firing frantically.
But the lab counters were made of solid metal. The bullets left only small dents, unable to harm Nolan hiding behind them.
The guards continued to fire as they advanced cautiously. After all, even a Super Soldier could be wounded. And once wounded he could die.
Behind the counter, Nolan estimated their position using sound and a distant mirror.
Then he moved.
With a roll, he popped out from the opposite side of the table, yanking a white lab coat over his body.
Dodging rapidly, he sprinted across the lab while calculating movement trajectories in real-time, vaulting over several stations in one go.
In his right hand, he held the bulletproof casing from the chamber. On his left, a surgical scalpel was picked up on the way.
Perfect for close combat.
He charged headlong into the group.
Startled by his sudden appearance, the guards instinctively opened fire.
But even as bullets flew, Nolan remained calm. He deflected the incoming rounds with the bulletproof shield.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
With his evolved reflexes, these bullets posed no real threat, especially with the shield in hand.
And once he was in their ranks, armed with a surgical blade and a superhuman body it was a massacre.
To Nolan, these well-trained guards moved no faster than children. Before they could even aim their weapons, he was in their faces.
Slash!
Slash!
Hot, viscous blood spurted from sliced arteries, spraying across Nolan's face.
One after another, he cut them down like vegetables.
Soon, the chaotic sounds of gunfire and shouting faded. The lab fell silent, save for the trickling of blood across the floor.
Only Nolan remained standing.
His white coat was drenched in crimson, and his face smeared with gore. With his dark, intense expression, he looked like a demon risen from hell.
"Time for the control room," Nolan muttered.
He needed the rest of the lab's data. Without it, everything he'd done would be wasted.
Grabbing a rifle and a tactical vest from a fallen guard, he reloaded and prepared to move.
He had to secure the intel and get out.
He might be a Super Soldier now, but he wasn't Captain America.
If HYDRA deployed their own enhanced enforcers like the flawed Winter Soldier units he could still be outnumbered and overwhelmed.
The grudge between him and HYDRA could wait. One day, when he was strong enough, he'd erase them with ease.
And with his talent, he had every reason to believe it.
But for now, he needed that data. It held the key to his rapid growth.
He wasn't the protagonist of the Avengers. A single Super Soldier Serum wasn't enough.
He needed more. Stronger powers for HYDRA and for what was coming.
Nolan bolted down the hallway. In the command room, the squad captain trembled as he watched.
What he had just seen confirmed it Nolan had become a true Super Soldier and one with full self-awareness.
"This… this isn't possible…"
Strucker's voice cut in, full of excitement.
"Has it been confirmed?"
By the time Strucker accessed the live feed, Nolan had already finished the slaughter. The only thing visible was fire and blood.
"Sir, he did it," the captain confirmed, switching the feed to Nolan's current path.
There he was a black-haired young man in a blood-soaked lab coat sprinting through the corridors.
His eyes were calm. Focused. Nothing like the unstable prototypes they had seen before.
Strucker's gaze narrowed.
"That's the successful subject?"
"Y-Yes, sir!"
Strucker shot to his feet, shouting,
"Then what are you standing around for, you useless idiot? Bring him in ALIVE! He's a genius a perfect specimen!"
"If you capture him, I'll promote you to command one of the elite ten squads!"
Strucker had never expected such a surprise one lone researcher, pushed to the edge, had tapped into infinite potential…
And actually recreated the Super Soldier Serum.
To be safe, he made another call:
"Send a team to Research Base 31 immediately. I want a man named Nolan captured. Also, awaken one of the Super Soldiers as backup! If we get him, the rest of those wastes can be discarded!"
The current Super Soldiers under HYDRA's control were flawed and prone to instability. They remained cryogenically frozen, only revived when necessary.
Even then, success was rare. They required highly resilient candidates, and even then, mass production was impossible.
But if Nolan had truly created a perfect serum...
The old failures could be scrapped. If a civilian researcher could survive it, soldiers would do even better.
Strucker was already picturing his own army of Super Soldiers on par with Captain America.
Enough to crush S.H.I.E.L.D. and anyone else who stood in HYDRA's way.
....
Back in the control room…
The squad captain, thrilled by the possibility of promotion, grabbed his radio and roared:
"All security teams intercept Nolan immediately! But listen closely, not fire. We need him alive. If he dies, so do you!"
HYDRA guards scrambled toward the lab entrance.
And that's when they met Nolan head-on.
Combat broke out instantly.
Inside the narrow corridor, firearms were useless. Nolan shot forward like a missile, launching himself into the crowd.
Blades flashed. Blood sprayed.
He grabbed one man to use as a human shield, cutting down others as they screamed in terror. Gurgled cries echoed from slit throats.
A wave of bodies hit the ground, blocking the incoming security reinforcements who were immediately mowed down by friendly fire.
In no time, Nolan reached the Main Control Room.
Without hesitation, he eliminated the guards inside.
Then, turning to the console, he rapidly tapped at the keys. Data flowed across the screen as he transferred everything onto a hard drive.
One file stood out—
"Weapon X Program."
That's right the very program responsible for Deadpool, X-23… and Logan.
The Wolverine.
His next target was Logan.
The incredible regenerative factor that made Wolverine nearly immortal was what Nolan needed next.
As long as he stayed alive, every piece of his plan was possible.
He had to acquire that power.
And the best part? There were already successful samples of Deadpool and X-23.
Nolan preferred powers that were practical, tested, and obtainable.
They would guarantee both survival and future growth.
Naturally, Wolverine's healing factor topped the list But not just his Nolan copied files on many other mutants and enhanced beings.
All of them would one day become puzzle pieces in Nolan's grand plan.
Though it had only been hours since he arrived in this world, Nolan already knew his path.
This was the Marvel Universe.
And in Marvel, one name stood above all others, the god among men.
Even though Superman belonged to DC Comics, Nolan thought otherwise. In terms of power, he was the gold standard.
Smallville Superman, Silver Age Superman, Golden Superman, Thought Robot…
He would rebuild his own Superman.
From the Super Soldier Serum to the powers of mutants, Nolan had already mapped his evolutionary path.
He knew what abilities to seek… and who to take them from.
Superman's foundation was clear in his mind.
The road would be hard, filled with enemies and challenges.
But with Master of Research and Spirit of Evolution, plus his deep understanding of the Marvel Universe…
Nolan had every reason to believe—
He would become the god among Humans.
