Chapter 22 - Chapter 21: A Casual Exit & Campus Life

Lin Feng leaned back in his seat, barely paying attention as the auctioneer droned on about some "exclusive secret auction" for only the most "distinguished guests."

The room, however, was buzzing with curiosity. Whispers spread like wildfire, and a few elite bidders straightened their backs, eager to flex their wealth in whatever mysterious event was about to unfold.

But Lin Feng?

He couldn't care less.

Another overpriced painting? A rare artifact with a tragic backstory? Maybe some symbol of power that old money families were willing to fight over?

Boring.

He had already done what he came for—spending money in style and watching those arrogant heirs choke on their own pride. Anything else was just extra.

"Are you not interested?" Shen Xinya asked, tilting her head. The stunning influencer—now the owner of a multi-million-dollar livestream company, thanks to him—had been watching his reaction closely.

Lin Feng swirled his wine lazily. "No point wasting time on things I don't need."

Yan Xiaoyu, who was still adjusting to the hypercar he had gifted her earlier, smirked. "You say that after casually throwing hundreds of millions away tonight."

Lin Feng chuckled. "Exactly."

Unlike the others who were desperate to prove themselves, he wasn't bidding to gain influence or impress anyone. He spent because he could—and because watching these so-called "elites" lose their minds over it was just too entertaining.

"Leaving already?" Su Lian's voice came from behind.

Lin Feng turned slightly, meeting the gaze of the famous A-list actress, who had taken a sudden interest in him earlier that night.

Su Lian's presence was something else. Dressed in an elegant, midnight-blue gown, she carried herself with the kind of confidence that came from years of being untouchable in the industry. Her sharp eyes held amusement—and curiosity.

Lin Feng grinned. "I've had my fun."

Su Lian studied him for a moment before smirking. "You're an interesting one."

Lin Feng simply raised his glass in response before standing up, ignoring the ongoing secret auction.

It wasn't worth his time.

The next morning, Lin Feng stepped onto campus, the familiar atmosphere of college life surrounding him. Students rushed to classes, groups gathered around chatting, and the air was filled with that mix of youth and ambition.

A sharp contrast to last night's world of power-hungry businessmen and entitled heirs.

But even here, things weren't exactly quiet.

As Lin Feng strolled toward the lecture hall, a few students whispered among themselves.

"Did you hear? Some mystery tycoon at last night's auction threw money around like it was nothing!"

"Yeah, I saw the livestream clips! The guy bought a hypercar, a whole company, and a diamond necklace—just gave them away like gifts!"

"Who even has that kind of money!?"

Lin Feng suppressed a laugh. So, the rumors were already spreading? Good.

The best part? Nobody suspected him.

They were all trying to guess which powerful young master was behind it, throwing out names of heirs from various wealthy families.

Meanwhile, the real spender was here, blending into the crowd like any other college student.

He liked it that way.

Just as Lin Feng was about to enter the lecture hall, a sharp voice rang out behind him.

"Well, well… if it isn't the infamous nobody."

He turned to see Liu Jian, a known rich kid on campus, standing there with his usual smug expression.

Liu Jian wasn't just any heir—he came from a powerful banking family and had been flaunting his wealth since day one. But more importantly? He hated Lin Feng.

Why?

Because no matter how much money, status, or influence Liu Jian had, Lin Feng never reacted. Never bowed. Never tried to curry favor.

That infuriated him.

"Still pretending to be a nobody?" Liu Jian sneered, crossing his arms. "I suppose someone like you wouldn't understand what it's like to be part of the real elite."

Lin Feng yawned. "You done?"

Liu Jian's expression twitched. He wasn't used to being brushed off. "Tch. Keep acting like you don't care. You'll never reach our level."

Lin Feng smirked. Oh, if only you knew.

Just then, another voice interrupted.

"Lin Feng, there you are!"

A beautiful girl approached, her long chestnut-brown hair cascading over her shoulders, her bright eyes lighting up as she waved.

Guo Yuwei.

A top student on campus, known for both her brains and beauty. Unlike most of the social climbers who swarmed around the rich, she was genuinely kind—and one of the few people Lin Feng actually enjoyed talking to.

Guo Yuwei beamed as she reached him. "You said you'd help me study for the finance midterm, remember?"

Lin Feng smiled. "Of course."

Liu Jian, however, was less amused. His expression darkened.

Guo Yuwei was one of the few girls who never paid attention to him—but here she was, happily chatting with Lin Feng.

His mood soured instantly. "Tch. Whatever. Waste your time with nobodies, then."

With that, he turned and walked off, clearly irritated.

Guo Yuwei tilted her head. "What's his problem?"

Lin Feng grinned. "Nothing important."

A Relaxing Afternoon? Not Likely.

The rest of the day passed uneventfully—or at least as uneventful as Lin Feng's life could get.

Between helping Guo Yuwei study, dodging annoying social climbers, and enjoying a quiet break at his usual campus café, things almost felt normal.

Almost.

Because the moment he checked his phone, a new anonymous message popped up.

"You made waves last night. Expect consequences."

Lin Feng raised an eyebrow.

Consequences?

He chuckled, slipping his phone back into his pocket.

If these so-called "elites" thought they could pressure him, they were in for a very expensive surprise.
