As the obsidian box shut, leaving Rex in complete darkness.
Green glowing tendrils slowly creeped out from the dark walls of the obsidian box, lighting up the cuboid space. As the illumination of the space improved, Rex saw X L's eyes fixated on him, studying his facial expression. Reminded of her "I don't know" remark. Less scoffed, As he focused on a particular area of the dark wall, where he noted some glyphic markings.
Rex focused his attention on the glyphic markings and as he did so. He understood that they were a numbering system, represented with dot markings, he could not tell the exact digit they were. But he could identify the one of smallest value up to the one with the largest value.
The markings that represented the lowest digit were dimly pulsing. With curiosity, Rex inched closer to the glyphic markings, and touched the next digit after the lowest pulsing one.
"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!"
Rex felt a deep vibration run through the whole cube as his teeth ground against each other.
This continued for several minutes.
As the continued vibration was beginning to change Rex's perspective on the Obsidian cube. Wondering if this cube was actually the trap he was skeptical of it been, the rumbling came to a sudden stop.
X L still kept her inquisitive eyes glued on Rex, through the whole ordeal.
"Click"
Like a box been unlocked, a slit appeared across Rex's left.
He raised his brow, silently taken in the observation, "The direction the slit appeared in, was not the same direction it had appeared, when he had walked into the obsidian Box".
"Our Journal has been updated" X L said as she moved towards the newly appeared slit, popping out her head. "This Obsidian Box is known as the "Eld-Spire". A commonly used tool in civilizations with the presence of "Eldergrove Arts".
"You can say it serves as both a door and a lift, in their architecture. This doubles as a form of protective formation, controlling access to the several copartments of their architeral structure." X L continued to elaborate on the "Eld-Spire" as she noted that Rex was not distracted this time.
Rex whose curiosity was on full outburst, following his experience with the "Eld-Spire", gave X L his full attention as she explained..

As Rex peeked into the hall he noticed dark silihoutes hidden by the darkness prevalent in the hall. He slowly made his way out of the "Eld-Spire". Stretching his hand towards the nearest outcrop of vine from the hall.
The hall had several bubble pockets, and a similar architectural style like the previous hall.
As the glow from the vine increased in intensity, improving the illumination of the hall. Rex noticed seven Neo-Life tortoise who stood scattered across the hall. As if on cue, they all turned to stare towards his direction. Rex could notice the same distaste that both Neo-life tortoise Rex he had already met had, evident on their face.
"Why is the aggressiveness of these creatures so exaggerated? Like I get that I have to fight you guys, but do you have to be hostile about it" Rex internally dialogued as excitement raged within his very being.
<
A red pop-up appeared on Rex's screen, as X L disappeared from view. A green bar appearing affixed to the head of his new Foes. They were all at Level 15, as displayed above their HP bar.
"Whoossshhh!!!"
Three of the Neo-Life creatures began a mad dash towards Rex, quickly shortening the distance between them.

[CE: 18/18]
Rex's cosmic essence popped up in front of him, this was the equivalent of an MP or Mana in in Cosmic Ascendance. The charge that fueled skill usage. As the first of the dashing tortoise got within melee range, Rex who had become all too familiar with their obsessive attack pattern ducked.
Slightly flexing his knee and reducing his height, the fist of the Neo life tortoise blazed it way with pure momentum above Rex's head.
"Boom!!!"
Rex's fist dislodged the jaw of the attacking creature, with an uppercut reinforced with harden. A follow-up attack from his dodge. His strength stat was at 14 points and when reinforced by harden, It was boosted up to 28 points. As a level 15 creature, the Neo-Life tortoise at most could have a vitality(Improved defence) within the range of 13-18 points. It stood no chance against a critical hit, with a strength of 28 points. The uppercut completely wiped off it's HP. The Neo-life tortoise that had received the upper cut, disintegrated while still in flight from the force of the uppercut it had received.
[CE: 15/18]
"Whackk!!!!"
The second Neo-Life Tortoise had gotten within melee range, but before it could even initiate its attack. A sweep kick from Rex sent it hurling backwards, Its Hp depleted by more than 50%.
[CE: 12/18]
Not waiting for the third to arrive. Rex dashed forward towards it, executing a move he had not even mastered in his Martial arts training, a Flying kick. With his confident, on an all time high, Rex perfectly executed the kick. But things went differently this time. The third Neo-life creature, brought it's two arboreal hands in front of itself.
A BLOCK!!!
Purplish flame gleaned on the bark like surface of the hand, as the creature reinforced its block, with the very skill Rex was employing in decimating it's kind. As Rex's kick connected, the kick merely sent it gliding backward.
[CE: 9/18]
Rex was momentarily dazed by the development, he had fallen into sync with the one-shot decimation process.
<
A notification popped up on his interface, a message from R L, reminding Rex that he was not the only one who could use Harden. As the third Neo-Life creature completed its successful block, it immediately switched from defense to attack. As it dashed forward towards Rex, It's elevated right hand displaying it's intention.
"Whoosh !!!" Rex rolled forward, avoiding the dashing attacking foe. As he ended his roll, he followed up with a sweep kick, that brought the fourth dashing creature on its knees. Fluidly Rex dispatched the now kneeling Neo-life creature with his fists. Leaving only five creatures in the hall.
"Huuuuu.....", Rex slowly exhaled, as each of the Neo-Life creature, that were left, observed his every movement with obvious despise.
The quick-paced high-action events sent his heart beating madly, Giving Rex a new novel feeling, borne from unleashing his peak in combat.
Dum! Dum!! Dum!!!
Rex shot forward towards the second Neo-Life tortoise that had received a sweep kick from him earlier, having it's HP drop below 50%.
With his new skill, Rex"s mind was brimming with several ways he could employ them in combat. His mind and heart were screaming combat.
As he shot forward, towards the second neo-life tortoise, he prepared himself for complete decimation.
