Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Battlefields of Legends

Dae and the man were standing there, simply observing how the creature was digging its way out the ground. As it did, the moon turned further crimson. For a beat this took away the attention from the emerging creature, a grave mistake for when Dae gazed back to the arm, it was gone and a hole was left instead. Right away he ordered the soldier: 'Back on back! Now!' 'Why should I listen to'-the next moment the ghoul stood behind the soldier and penetrated his chest with his longs nails. In a leap back Dae threw a grenade at the man. He dashed behind a boulder and awaited the explosion-booooom! Unbothered he checked his gun if everything was alright and also checked the munition. Then he revealed himself. The explosion had done its job. The soldiers body was completely gone and the ghoul's body was wrecked and he seemed to be dead. Slowly Dae approached the dead body, circling it in the process. 'Damn! What the fuck is that? I must contact'-'You must contact no one!', a woman interrupted. She was standing on a high boulder further away from Dae. She had light brown and golden curly hairs, posing a deep contrast to her dark skin. Her eyes were golden and she was built broad, yet the female figure had remained. She went by the name Rayshel and was pointing two guns at Dae who despite his reaction didn't pay much attention to Rayshel. Only when the other soldiers revealed themselves Dae started lowering his gun, pleasing Rayshel with that: 'Well now you are careful, Wargod!' Everyone looked stupefied. They were facing the Wargod? Dae smiled as he lastly halted before the dead ghoul. (Dae: It's really dead! Good!) 'I am not surprised that you know me but I also have some intel on you Rayshel or should I rather say, Berserker!' Rayshel leaped of the boulder and landed on the ground with a big bam! Now that she stood on the same level as her soldiers it was clear that she was taller than most. Her arm, legs were broader than most. She was just immense. She tucked her guns away and took the ax with the long handle that was fastened on her back. This sight only pushed Dae towards mirth: 'You are really crazy! You can see what is here, before my legs, right?' 'A black body!', Rayshel replied und shrugged her shoulders. Seeing her carefree reaction Dae went on: 'And are bodies normally black?' 'Na, but when covered in ashes it can become black!' Dae shook his head and pointed at the moon. 'Do you also find that normal?' 'The red moon? Well, I don't care. In these days people are experimenting with all kind of shit things. It would not surprise me if one day the sun turned green. But'–She rose her ax and as she did, her soldiers pointed their guns at Dae. Dae on his part remained calm. (Dae: Something is weird. She is overboiling with killing intent but none of that is directed at me!) Rayshel smiled, seeing Dae's reaction. 'I see. You are called the Wargod for a reason!' The next moment Rayshel smashed her ax into the ground; a thunderous impact emerged. The ax dug into the ground, deep, but everyone there knew of the Berserker's inhuman strength. The real surprising thing was when she removed her ax from the ground and the blade of the ax was clad in blood. Next, Rayshel thrust her arm into the ground and tore out a ghoul from underneath the ground. The ghoul's head had been spitted in two. Rayshel threw the ghoul to the ground. (Dae: That woman ! Her raw strength and her inhuman instincts are really something!) The soldiers retreated, only Dae came even nearer and Rayshel kept staring at him. 'Rayshel, you want something from me?' 'Yeah! Mind telling me what that is?' 'How would I know what that is? You can ask him yourself!' Rayshel broke out in a hysterical laughter, gripping her ax even tighter. And suddenly she bellowed: 'Everyone prepare! That ugly thing brought friends with him. It's time for a massacre!' (Dae: I forgot that woman is a fight maniac!) Right away, everywhere on the fields ghouls popped out. Different to the previous ghouls. Most of the ghouls carried guns and some even grenades with them. They were dressed in old military uniforms which gave a slight violet glow from them just like the guns. (Dae: What if these monsters were once dead and retained their skills from the time they lived? Then this is bad!) The shooting started and Rayshel was already looking for her first target but then Dae's voice resounded throughout the battlefield: 'Everyone grab you things and follow me! We shouldn't fight in the open!' Rayshel who had already spitted three ghouls in half leaped after her fourth, when suddenly beneath her another ghoul emerged. Compared to the other ghouls this ghoul was built broader and didn't carry any guns for that a weapon was fastened on his back–a long sword. That ghoul packed Rayshel by her throat and slammed her to the ground-baaaaaanm! Rayshel kicked that ghoul away, heaved to her legs and her grin had grown bigger. 'Hashahaha! You are strong you bastard!' She massaged her neck and prepared for an attack Suddenly Rayshel's senses heightened and she looked around the field. Yes the ghouls were stronger in a one-on-one fight but her soldiers beat them in numbers, for now, making the battle fair. The good thing was that the ghouls emerged one after one and not at once. Thus, they could never shift the tides of the battle completely to their sides. There were evenly losses on both sides, yet still great losses. However, this might just change. The ghoul with the long sword had not attacked and was just waiting. Around him other ghouls popped up and Rayshel knew right away these 5 ghouls were world apart from the other ghouls. Dae threw a bunch of grenades as he bellowed: 'Light!' Everyone understood the assignment and gazed away, only the ghouls glanced right at the falling grenades. The grenades exploded and a dazzling light befell the ground, followed by a loud high sound. In that moment, Dae made hand signs and surprisingly Rayshel calmed down. When Dae jogged of in the direction of his team Rayshel followed him and her soldiers tagged along. One of the soldiers was jogging next to Rayshel and he couldn't contain his curiosity: 'Mhh, Rayshel, I know you so what did he say to get you away from the battle field? I mean, you love fighting! Like you really adore it! And here you are, distancing yourself from it. That's a first for me! You'-'iI we stayed there you would have all died. And that's a fact. Yes, I love fighting. However, I wouldn't sacrifices my people just to have fun. A the end I am still a human. (Random soldier: A human? You? Hell no!) If I understood well, Dae communicated that these monsters there might have been soldiers once. And if he's right, you are in big a problem and I hit the jackpot because right now we are on a battle field where once the Legends fought. That soldier with the giant sword he must be one of the five Legends !' (Random soldier: You crazy woman! Where ist hat a jackpot?)
