Chapter 10 - burn for me

The door slammed shut behind them, the sound echoing through the dimly lit apartment like a gunshot.

Vinny barely had time to process before Matthew was on him—fast, deliberate, unrelenting.

His back hit the wall, the cool surface biting against the heat that surged through his body at Matthew's proximity. A hand gripped his jaw, firm but not bruising, tilting his face up just enough for their eyes to meet.

Matthew's gaze was dark, unreadable, but the tension in his jaw and the way his chest rose and fell a little too quickly told Vinny everything he needed to know.

He was pissed.

Possessive.

And worst of all?

Turned on.

Vinny smirked, feigning nonchalance even as his pulse quickened. "You think slamming a door and looking at me like that is supposed to scare me?"

Matthew's grip tightened slightly, thumb brushing over Vinny's lower lip. "I think you like it."

Vinny didn't blink. "Maybe I do."

A muscle in Matthew's jaw ticked, but his lips curled into something resembling a smirk. "You enjoy pushing me, don't you?"

Vinny's hands twitched at his sides. He wanted to push Matthew further—to see how much more he could unravel him. To see if Matthew would finally break the carefully crafted control he always carried like a shield.

So, he leaned in, his breath fanning over Matthew's lips as he whispered, "I think you like being pushed."

Matthew didn't respond. Not with words.

Instead, he moved.

His lips crashed into Vinny's, rough and demanding, stealing every breath, every coherent thought Vinny might've had left.

Vinny groaned into the kiss, fingers instinctively curling into the fabric of Matthew's shirt, yanking him closer as their bodies pressed flush against each other.

Matthew wasn't gentle.

And Vinny didn't want him to be.

It wasn't just a kiss—it was a warning. A declaration. A punishment.

Vinny smirked against Matthew's lips, despite the way his knees felt weak. "Jealousy looks good on you."

Matthew's teeth grazed his lower lip before biting down—not hard enough to draw blood, but enough to make Vinny feel it.

"You think this is jealousy?" Matthew murmured against his skin, lips trailing along his jaw before stopping at the sensitive spot just below his ear.

Vinny's breath hitched before he could stop it, and he hated the way Matthew felt that reaction.

Matthew's fingers traced along his throat, a silent, taunting touch. "I'm not jealous, Vin."

His lips brushed Vinny's ear as he whispered, "I'm just reminding you who you belong to."

A shiver ran down Vinny's spine, but he covered it with a scoff, tilting his head back against the wall. "That's cute."

Matthew pulled back slightly, eyes searching Vinny's for something unspoken. Then, slowly, purposefully, his hands slid down, tracing the line of Vinny's torso before gripping his hips.

He walked him back, step by step, until the backs of Vinny's legs hit the couch.

Then, without warning, Matthew shoved him down.

Vinny let out a short breath as he landed, glaring up at him. "You—"

Matthew didn't let him finish.

He climbed over Vinny, straddling his waist, pinning him down with nothing but his weight and presence.

Vinny exhaled sharply, hands pressing against Matthew's chest as if to push him away—but he didn't.

Because the truth was…

He liked this.

The weight of Matthew above him.

The intensity in his gaze.

The feeling of being wanted in a way that felt almost dangerous.

Matthew's lips quirked. "Still think I'm the jealous one?"

Vinny smirked, tilting his chin up defiantly. "Absolutely."

Matthew laughed, low and dark, and the sound sent a thrill through Vinny's veins. "Then maybe I should prove you wrong."

He leaned down, so unbearably close, yet still not kissing him. Instead, he let his lips hover over Vinny's, teasing, taunting—making Vinny need it.

Vinny swallowed, his fingers curling in Matthew's shirt.

Matthew smirked, sensing his frustration. "Say it."

Vinny arched a brow. "Say what?"

Matthew's fingers skimmed under Vinny's shirt, the touch light, torturous. "Say you want me to kiss you."

Vinny scoffed, despite the way his body reacted to Matthew's words. "You're delusional if you think I'm going to—"

Matthew kissed him.

Slow. Deep. Consuming.

Vinny's breath stuttered, his hands moving to grip Matthew's waist instead of pushing him away.

Because he wanted this.

Wanted Matthew to kiss him like he was something he needed to breathe.

Wanted him to kiss him like he owned him.

And maybe, just maybe, he did.

Matthew pulled back just enough to murmur against his lips, "Still not jealous."

Vinny exhaled shakily, eyes half-lidded as he smirked. "Then what do you call this?"

Matthew's lips ghosted over his again, teasing. "Making sure you remember."

Vinny arched a brow. "Remember what?"

Matthew smirked.

And then he kissed him again.

Harder.

Deeper.

Until Vinny stopped thinking altogether.
