In the memory, Misdreavus grew increasingly restless amidst the celebratory cheers of the surrounding researchers. As the towering Slaking struggled to rise, the fragments of the memory began to flicker, blurring like static on an old TV, and the surrounding sounds became distorted and garbled.
When the next scene materialized, the entire laboratory was engulfed in flames. The Pokémon lying on the examination tables had somehow broken free from their restraints, and Misdreavus stood in front of Slaking's cage, letting out a piercing shriek.
The researchers lay unconscious on the ground.
Those who arrived quickly released their enhanced Pokémon. The exhausted Pokémon collapsed, and Misdreavus charged headlong into a barrage of moves that felt like an aerial assault.
In the chaotic storm of attacks, Misdreavus unleashed an unknown move, forcibly distorting all the incoming attacks around her.
The twisted, powerful moves wreaked havoc in the cramped laboratory. The captured Pokémon cowered on the ground, trembling, while the attacking Pokémon bore the brunt of the chaotic onslaught.
Moves flew in every direction, disorganized and wild, and the flames in the laboratory resembled a massive fireworks display, with chaotic bursts of colorful light flashing everywhere.
Slaking smashed through the laboratory's glass door, and a swarm of researchers rushing in released a flood of controlled Pokémon.
The massive Slaking blocked the corridor entrance, its deafening roar echoing throughout. Even in the memory, Luther felt as though his eardrums might burst.
A few of the controlled Pokémon showed signs of fear under the impact of the roar, attempting to retreat, but they collided with the advancing Pokémon, causing chaos in the corridor.
The laboratory was now divided into two battle zones: one for Misdreavus and the other for Slaking.
Misdreavus deftly dodged the moves of several Pokémon, weaving through the flames and unleashing precise Psychic attacks, shattering the ribbons the controlled Pokémon had been wearing.
The destruction of the ribbons allowed the controlled Pokémon to gradually regain their sense of self. With no time to tend to the confused Pokémon, Misdreavus knocked down the last few resisting researchers and charged out of the corridor.
Meanwhile, Slaking engaged in close combat with other controlled Pokémon, using Hammer Arm to send any obstructing enemies flying. At each doorway, Slaking delivered powerful blows, freeing the trapped Pokémon.
Misdreavus's Dark Pulse repelled a group of Psychic-type Pokémon attempting to halt Slaking's advance, and the Pokémon following Misdreavus grew in number.
With the frenzied cries and shouts of the Pokémon, the uprising spread to every corner of the laboratory.
The controlled Pokémon, now without their ribbons, desperately tried to break free from their cages. They violently destroyed their enclosures and joined the ranks of the uprising.
Misdreavus and Slaking became unstoppable forces, leading the charge at the front of the corridor. Their powerful physiques and immense strength allowed them to withstand wave after wave of researchers attempting to storm the laboratory.
An injured Arcanine appeared at Luther's feet, bleeding heavily but desperately sniffing the ground. When his nose caught the scent at the corner of the wall, he suddenly slammed his head against the corridor's edge.
After repeatedly banging against the wall to no effect, he seemed to want to use Flamethrower to burn through it, but his weakened body couldn't muster the strength. The flames in his mouth flickered out before they could even ignite.
More and more individuals joined the fray in the corridor, and the relentless barrage of moves was met head-on by Misdreavus and Slaking. Behind them, a large number of freed Pokémon, still weak, began to take Arcanine's place and attacked the wall with desperate fury.
Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball— various moves erupted against the wall, but it only cracked slightly, showing a few shallow fissures.
Misdreavus called out something to Slaking, who paused for a moment before quickly retreating.
The space left by Slaking's retreat was fiercely defended by Misdreavus. She was reaching her limit, alternating between various moves to buy time for the Pokémon behind her, her form flickering as she struggled to maintain her strength.
As Misdreavus took heavy damage from the relentless attacks, Slaking's powerful Hammer Arm, combined with the efforts of other Pokémon, finally smashed a massive hole in the wall at the corner of the corridor.
Several Sandslash rushed into the hole, quickly digging through the hard earth and creating an opening above.
With a powerful Dragon Claw, a Bagon struck the earth above, causing the soil to collapse and revealing an escape route. Bagon and several other Pokémon continued to attack the edges of the collapsed opening, widening it so that larger Pokémon in the group could pass through.
Once the hole was large enough for Slaking to fit, Grass-type Pokémon were the first to climb onto Slaking and Bagon's bodies to reach the top of the passage. Then, using the Vine Whip laid down by the Grass-types, the other Pokémon climbed up to the surface and fled into the vast night without looking back.
As a large number of Pokémon escaped, Slaking turned back and roared into the corridor.
Misdreavus was locked in a fierce battle, facing at least twenty Pokémon. She had already knocked out more than ten of them. If it weren't for the narrow width of the corridor preventing the attackers from spreading out, the number of Pokémon Misdreavus had to face would have been even more overwhelming.
Slaking picked up a large piece of the fallen wall and, after gathering his strength, hurled it toward Misdreavus with a tremendous roar.
Misdreavus glanced at the ribbons hanging from the Pokémon she was battling and resolutely turned back, lowering her body to dodge the incoming wall and swiftly escaping the fight.
The wall crashed to the ground, kicking up a massive cloud of dust that reduced visibility in the entire corridor. As smoke from the burning laboratory poured out, the corridor was instantly filled with a rolling haze, making it impossible to see anything.
Slaking held an unconscious Arcanine in one hand and a limping Breloom in the other as he climbed up through the hole. He glanced back at Misdreavus and then charged into the night.
Misdreavus followed closely behind Slaking, racing through the tunnel that had been smashed open. Luther stood behind Misdreavus and recognized that they were at the edge of a forest. In the distance, windmills turned slowly, and below the hillside, colorful lights twinkled, resembling a bustling city.
Luther could not confirm the name of the buildings behind Misdreavus. In her memories, she raced forward without looking back, unable to see more details.
The memory abruptly ended, frozen at the moment of escape.
"Is there anything else?" Luther asked, touching Misdreavus beside him.
Misdreavus shook her head.
"Then let me wake up."
A blinding light emanated from Misdreavus, and Luther, standing in front of her, couldn't help but raise his hand to shield himself from the penetrating light.
The moment the blinding light enveloped Luther, he jolted awake from the ground.
He sat up abruptly, causing Marill, who had been sitting on his chest, to tumble to the ground, head down and tail up.
Picking up the mischievous little one, Luther began to replay the dream of Misdreavus in his mind.
It could only be described as chilling.
First were those people; they had captured nearly a hundred Pokémon. This place was built underground and was definitely not small.
The laboratory, the dim corridors, and the well-maintained drainage and ventilation systems were seen during the Pokémon uprising. The single rooms where the Pokémon were imprisoned were the cages.
A large number of puppet Pokémon are enslaved by ribbons and other strange devices...
Did they even make Misdreavus fight Slaking?
Why were they cheering and celebrating? What were they celebrating?
Why was it worth their joy that Misdreavus defeated Slaking?
Luther's mind was in turmoil. He realized that he had only been in this world for a few days and had already stumbled into something extraordinary. No wonder Lucian had warned him to cooperate with Graystone and extricate himself...
These people had no humanity whatsoever. They could abuse captured Pokémon without a hint of remorse, and during the Pokémon uprising, Luther even heard commands to not hold back.
If it weren't for Misdreavus's exceptional strength and her leading the Pokémon uprising alongside Slaking, the fate of those Pokémon would have been unimaginable.
Team Rocket?
When it comes to Pokémon experiments, Team Rocket is an unavoidable mention.
Giovanni's creation of Mewtwo is a prime example.
However, it must be said that the Sinnoh Region should be outside Team Rocket's control. Only when Jessie, James, and Meowth entered did Team Rocket begin to encroach upon the Sinnoh Region.
Galactic Team?
Wasn't the Galactic Team's goal to create a new world? Their target should be the time god Dialga and the space god Palkia. It seems impossible to connect them to such Pokémon experiments.
Luther found that his proud transmigrator Prophet Ability had lost its effectiveness. The entire animated storyline did not mention these things.
It seems that only events related to Ash continue to unfold according to the original plot without interference from him... As for his own experiences as a transmigrator, they were all outside the norm.
Luther remained lost in thought until late at night. Jumpluff and Ralts had snuggled together and fallen into a deep sleep, while Marill lay sprawled on the ground, sleeping soundly.
Misdreavus seemed to be unaware of fatigue, staying awake alongside Luther in a daze.
Looking at his Pokémon, Luther felt a bit of tension ease from his heart.
No matter what, such inhumane actions could never be forgiven by Luther as a Trainer. At this stage, he and his Pokémon lacked the strength to confront these shadowy forces. At the very least, in the future, he must give his conscience a justification.
With this thought in mind, Luther gently lay back on the ground, carefully cradling Ralts and Jumpluff in his arms. He glanced at the still-vigilant Misdreavus and closed his eyes, saying, "Good night."
Misdreavus nodded and curled up in a corner of the room.
