Varun, his mind racing with strategic imperatives, knew time was a critical factor.
'We need ships and jets, and we need them quickly,' he thought, recalling a potential source for these assets. He formulated a plan and immediately contacted Daivik.
'Daivik,' he instructed, 'we need to expedite the development of jet and ship engines. Optimize the current gen designs for speed and increased warhead payload.'
Daivik responded, his voice pragmatic, 'Simply optimizing the jet engine won't significantly increase payload.'
'The jet's design itself needs to be transformed. '
'However, that requires specialized tools, engineers, and labor, resources we don't have time to allocate.'
'Enhancing the engine could slightly increase warhead payload, and speed can be improved, but we'd need to thoroughly scan and analyze existing jet designs to provide definitive answers.'
'As for the ship engines, I can handle that. I've already developed preliminary architectural plans.'
Varun, acknowledging the limitations, replied, 'Understood. Focus on maximizing the engine's potential, especially speed.'
'And prioritize the ship engine development. We'll find a solution for the jets later. Now, wake me at 6:00 AM. We have much to do.
Varun awoke promptly at 6:00 AM, refreshed and ready.
After a quick wash, he headed to meet Bose.
He was intercepted by one of the officers he had met previously, who informed him that Bose was awaiting his arrival.
The officer led him to Bose, who was standing on a rooftop overlooking the harbor, silhouetted against the rising sun.
'The sunrise is beautiful,' Varun observed, his gaze fixed on the vibrant hues painting the sky.
'Beautiful indeed,' Bose replied, his voice reflective. He then turned to Varun, his expression serious. 'Today, we will be testing the weapons you brought. Can you provide a demonstration for us?'
'Yes, of course,' Varun agreed. 'However, I would request that the Japanese high command also be present.'
Bose raised an eyebrow, intrigued. 'And why is that?'
'I wish to propose a deal,' Varun explained. 'An exchange. Warships and jets from them, in exchange for the weapons I will demonstrate.'
Bose's expression turned wary. 'Wouldn't that put us at a disadvantage?' he asked. 'They may someday use these advanced weapons against us.
Varun replied, his tone pragmatic. 'We can subtly decrease the performance of the weapons for their use.'
'A slight reduction in accuracy and range, perhaps, and a decrease in overall durability.'
'These changes would be negligible to them in short-term engagements, but would become significant in prolonged warfare.'
'This allows us to earn revenue, or gain more warcrafts, while maintaining a strategic advantage.'
'They will be using our weapons, but at a slightly degraded capacity, while we retain the full potential of our own arsenal.'
Hearing Varun's calculated proposal, Bose paused, his eyes narrowing slightly. 'You are very shrewd,' he observed, a hint of admiration mixed with caution. He then added, after a brief moment, 'And also very cunning.'
Varun responded with a disarming smile. 'Everything is fair in love and war.'
Bose, a flicker of amusement in his eyes, returned the smile. 'Yes,' he agreed, 'everything is fair in love and war.'
