Chapter 10 - Harm 1.

The next day was Saturday. Dina and some of her classmates had extra hours, and only they and the teacher were at school.

Dina woke up that morning, had breakfast, got herself ready, then headed to class. When she arrived, the classroom was offly unwelcoming.

"Ew! Are you on your transformation?" Screamed Emma in disgust.

"Ekh! You look hideous! Why do you even show up at this time of the month?"

Careless as she was, Dina ignored her completely. She took her seat, brought her books out, and placed them on her table.

Sitting behind her, the girls were eating her with their stares, fuelled with hate.

Dina's transformation form wasn't as pretty as the other girls'. Her right eyeball was completely black with a red pupil in the middle, and her body was covered with dark smoke making her look like a walking storming cloud.

After a little while, the teacher came. The moment he entered the classroom, Dina's look caught his attention. It was the first time he'd ever seen a transformation like hers.

"Interesting." He thought to himself, then said, "Good morning class. My name is Rain Vrochi, your teacher for the time being. Mr. Brown will be absent today for some...well... business of his own. For that, I'll be his replacement. And I hope to be a good one too." He smiled and then started the session.

After two hours, the class was over.

The girls gathered their books and prepared themselves to leave.

"Girls! Is it only my imagination, or is this teacher so hot!" Commented Emma.

"Oh my God! I thought so as well!" Answered the other girls.

Dina heard their whispering and looked at the teacher. She observed him as he wiped the whiteboard.

"He…" She was hesitant to comment, fearing the ones behind her, so she decided to keep the words to herself and scanned Rain from head to toe.

"I wonder how old he is…He looks pretty young to be a teacher." The more she looked at him the more interested she became.

"A man as handsome as him would definitely be married… I wonder what his wife looks like?"

She watched him as he sat on his chair, held his book, put on his glasses, then moved his hair back to read. The scene was refreshing to her, making her heart gradually beat faster.

She fixed her eyes on his as they moved left and right, reading the words before them. The way he flipped the pages and focused his attention on the papers with his eyes softly reading made her chest warm up.

A feeling which she had never felt before exploded in her body. She liked it, it made her feel good for the first time in her life. She wanted it to last a little longer, so she kept her eyes on its source.

Suddenly, Emma saw her as she watched Rain with admiration. Disgusted, she kicked her chair making her flinch. The teacher brought his head up as he heard the noise but found the girls silent, so he brought his attention back to his book. Emma, then slowly walked towards Dina and leaned closer to her ear.

"What are you looking at, freak!" She whispered.

"None of your business…" Unbothered, she remained focused on her target.

Emma followed her gaze to find the scene she was watching.

"Heh!" She chuckled then added, "You think a man as hot as Mr. Vrochi would be into a pile of smoke like you?"

The other girls quietly laughed.

"Not even an ugly man would be into you!" She pushed her head, but Dina quickly held her by the wrist.

"Agh! Let–" Her voice caught the teacher's attention.

"Keep your freaking hands to yourself!" She squeezed her grip.

"Heh! Or what?" A cocky smirk was drawn on her face as she showed no fear.

Dina received her challenging signals, then looked her dead in the eyes. Glancing with them wide open, she approached her bringing her face closer to hers. After positioning herself, she threatened,

"Or I'll be taking them home with me…" Her red eye shone, giving Emma a sense of danger, so she quickly freed herself.

"Ukh! What-Ever!" She hid her fear with a sassy attitude, then walked back to her friends while Dina sat back on her chair.

"What happened?" They asked her.

"Ugh! Nothing. She's so weird!"

Rain watched the whole scenario and didn't want to intervene, for amazement took the best of him.

"Her eye was shining red…" He thought to himself.

"I wish this teacher was ours for the rest of the year!" Said one of the girls.

"If that happens, I'm never skipping my writing classes again!" Emma laughed then walked towards the door with her friends following her.

Dina rolled her eyes then looked ahead to find the teacher looking at her. The moment their eyes met, they quickly looked away. Dina heated up from the situation, and her cheeks turned red.

"Was he… looking at me?"

"Crap! She saw me!"

They drowned in an ocean of tense feelings.

"Her eye… Fascinating!" He couldn't get enough of her unique form, and craved looking again.

On the other hand, Dina was wishing her assumptions to be true, so she decided to take another look. As she brought her eyes up, she found Rain's gaze on her. Quickly, she looked down and stood up to leave.

At the door, Emma was standing with her friends, then her backpack slipped from her hand.

Unfortunately, Dina wasn't paying attention and accidentally stepped on it.

"Oh my God! Be careful you freak!" She shouted as she aggressively pushed Dina by the shoulder, making her fall to the floor.

"This backpack is worth your entire life! That is if you even are worth a life!"

"Hey! Stop that!" Warned the teacher as he walked towards them.

"Don't worry, Mr. Vrochi. This thing feels nothing, literally. Here look!"

She kicked her in the stomach with a smirk on her face.

"Hey! Enough!" The teacher gently pushed Emma away.

"Don't defend her, Mr.Vrochi. Even her own mother left her!" As she laughed, she grabbed her backpack, dusted it off, then turned away.

Suddenly, as she reached the door, she felt something holding her by the calf. She looked down to find herself tied with strings of smoke.

She followed them with her eyes and stopped when spotting the source. In pure horror, Emma dropped her backpack as she froze in place. With her eyes wide open, she observed Dina's thick smoke surrounding her with a bunch of strings swinging in the air.

"Forgive me, Mother…" As her vision blurred, Nightmare slowly came out of her back.

Its head popped out first with its long tongue sticking out of its mouth and its set of teeth on its face, after that, many long arms and claw-looking hands came out. Finally, as it formed its nightmarish full existence, it loudly growled with rage, shaking the whole room.

"UGH!!" Everyone screamed while closing their ears.

Dina stood still while her right eye shone red, bloody red, and stared dead into Emma's eyes.

"What on God's earth..." Mumbled Rain as he slowly backed away. The girls screamed their lungs out from the terrors they had encountered and sprinted out of the classroom.

Emma, on the other hand, was too stunned to move a muscle. Her legs had failed her, forcing her to face a living nightmare and watch as it slowly stretched its arms toward her with sharp slicing claws.

She shook in fear and her face rained with sweat. Her heartbeats were loud enough for her to hear, and her heart almost broke her chest bones as it beat with force. While her eyes watched the claws growing near her, her faith had abandoned her. All that remained was surrender.
