Chapter 13 - First Day at Work

Monday.

Ningning got up early, wearing a graceful smile as he gently knocked on Anya's bedroom door. "Mommy, wake up, it's your first day at work!"

"I know, I know…" Cheng Anya mumbled, still half-asleep.

Ningning chuckled, then went to wash up and get dressed. He walked into the kitchen, washed the pan, turned on the stove, and expertly made two nutritious breakfasts. The fragrant sandwiches were ready in no time. He warmed up some milk, then headed straight into Anya's room. The small boy jumped onto the bed and kicked his mom off with a thud.

Thump!

"Ahh! That hurts…"

Ningning landed lightly beside her, completely ignoring his mom's resentful glare. He fetched water, squeezed toothpaste onto her brush, and gestured with a polite smile, as if inviting a guest in.

"Mommy, Mr. S is very strict. If you're late, you'll lose your job, and then we'll be left out in the cold with nothing to eat."

Anya wanted to cry. >_<

"Ningning, I hate youuu!" she roared, full of grief, then dragged herself into the bathroom to wash up. Ningning, meanwhile, made the bed and picked out a suit for her to wear, neatly laying it on the bed.

When Anya came out and got dressed, she styled her hair and tied it up.

By then, Ningning had already packed his school bag and was eating breakfast. "Morning, Mommy. Hurry up and eat—we're heading out together."

Anya bit into the sandwich with a bitter heart. It tasted like something out of a five-star hotel.

Wasn't it supposed to be moms who took care of their sons in the morning? Why was it the other way around for her?

Her son was a genius—he even did housework like a professional maid. >_< She felt like there was finally some hope for her life.

"Ningning, Mommy's sorry for making you work so hard!"

Ningning nodded solemnly, showing he understood, then gracefully urged Anya to eat faster. His dear mommy was perfect in every way—except for being lazy and totally useless at housework. Poor him, already a master of domestic chores at such a young age, and even a great cook.

"Ningning, you're not allowed to get married when you grow up, okay? You have to take care of Mommy forever."

"Okay!"

What a good boy! Future daughter-in-law, step aside—do you know how hard she worked to raise this little treasure? There's no way she's handing him over so easily. Now Anya finally understood why the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is always so complicated.

S Corporation Tower stood tall in the heart of the bustling city—majestic and magnificent, reaching into the sky with awe-inspiring grandeur.

Anya let out a long breath.

You can do this, Cheng Anya!

For the money—let's gooo!
