Chapter 22 - 22.The awakening of Reyza

After Meera reveals everything about Reyza—her personality, the things she has done, and the danger she carries—Aryan will be left in shock. He won't be able to process the fact that Aarohi has such a dangerous side within her.

Meera, feeling an unsettling sense of dread, will insist that Reyza is not just another personality but a force of chaos, someone unpredictable and dangerous. She will recall the one time she saw Reyza before, the way her eyes held no warmth, the way she spoke with an eerie calmness, and how something about her felt wrong.

Aryan, skeptical but disturbed, will ask, "If she's so dangerous, why does Aarohi allow her to take control?"

Meera will pause before answering, "Maybe Aarohi doesn't always have a choice."

At that moment, the door will creak open slightly—just enough to make them both turn their heads. A slow, deliberate knock will follow.

And then, a voice.

"Talking about me, are we?"

The air will turn ice cold. Meera will freeze. Aryan's breath will hitch.

Reyza has arrived.

Meera's POV

My blood ran cold.

That voice.

I had heard it once before, and it haunted me ever since. A voice so familiar yet completely foreign. Slow, deliberate, laced with amusement—as if she was enjoying this.

Reyza.

I turned my head toward the door, every muscle in my body tightening. Aryan sat beside me, his entire body going rigid. His fingers curled into a fist, but I could tell—he was just as frozen as I was.

The door creaked open further, and she stepped inside.

Aarohi's face. But not her.

The way she stood, the way she tilted her head ever so slightly as if analyzing us like a predator watching its prey—it was unmistakable. Reyza was here.

"Go away." My voice came out sharper than I expected, but it didn't mask the tremor underneath.

Reyza smirked. "Oh, Meera. So cold. After all, you were just telling Aryan all about me." She took a slow step forward. "I should at least be here to listen, don't you think?"

Aryan finally found his voice. "Reyza." He said her name like he was testing it, like he wasn't sure if saying it would make things worse.

Reyza's lips curved upward, but her eyes remained dark. "I like the way you say that. Feels like you finally see me."

I swallowed hard. "We do see you. And we know what you've done."

She let out a small chuckle. "Oh? And what exactly have I done, Meera?" She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping into a whisper. "Tell me. What are you so afraid of?"

I felt Aryan shift beside me, his tension radiating off him. He didn't know. He didn't fully understand what Reyza was capable of.

And I wasn't sure if I wanted him to find out this way.

But before I could say another word, Reyza sighed dramatically and straightened. "You're both so serious." Her tone was mocking. "Don't worry. I didn't come here to hurt anyone."

Her eyes flickered to Aryan. "Yet."

His jaw clenched.

Reyza's smirk widened. "Oh, this is going to be fun."

I knew, in that moment, we were in trouble.

I forced myself to breathe. Stay calm. Stay in control. But how could I, when the person standing in front of me wasn't even Aarohi anymore?

Reyza leaned against the wall casually, but her presence filled the entire room with a suffocating energy. She was watching us—studying us. Like a cat playing with mice before deciding when to strike.

Aryan spoke first, his voice low. "What do you want?"

Reyza's lips curled into a slow, amused smile. "That's a dangerous question, Aryan. Because the truth?" She tilted her head. "I want so many things."

A chill ran down my spine.

"But if you're asking why I'm here right now…" She dragged a finger along the wooden shelf beside her, as if bored. "Well, I was just wondering—how much does Aryan really know about me?"

I felt Aryan tense beside me. He knew about Aarohi's condition, knew about her—but he didn't understand the depth of it. He didn't know what Reyza had done.

He turned to me, his eyes sharp. "Meera. You said you've seen her before. You know her." His voice was urgent now. "Tell me. Who is Reyza?"

I swallowed hard.

Reyza let out a delighted laugh. "Yes, Meera. Do tell."

I clenched my fists. "You're not Aarohi," I whispered. "You're something else."

Reyza placed a hand on her chest, mockingly feigning hurt. "You wound me."

But I ignored her. I turned fully to Aryan and finally said it all in one breath.

"She's ruthless." My voice was steady, even as my heart pounded. "Cunning. Manipulative. She doesn't care about consequences. And she enjoys control. She's not just another personality, Aryan. She's dangerous."

Reyza chuckled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Meera."

Aryan's gaze darkened. "What has she done?"

I hesitated.

Reyza smirked. "Go on. Tell him."

I forced myself to meet Aryan's eyes. "She's hurt people before."

Silence.

Reyza sighed dramatically. "Ugh. You make it sound so terrible." She turned to Aryan. "I simply do what needs to be done."

Aryan's fists clenched. "What needs to be done?"

She grinned. "Exactly."

My stomach twisted.

Aryan took a step forward. "And what is it you need to do now?"

Reyza's smirk didn't fade. But her eyes gleamed with something sharp. Something dangerous.

"That," she whispered, "depends entirely on you."
