After days of nonstop travel, the group finally reached their destination—Sealed Demon Mountain.
Staring at the ominous mountain ahead, Yakura suppressed the unease rising within her and asked, "Is this cursed place really Sealed Demon Mountain!?"
The Priestess nodded and explained, "Inside Sealed Demon Mountain, there is a natural lava flow. That environment can suppress the dark, sinister chakra of Moryo. It's the perfect place to seal him."
Yakura immediately asked, "So what do we do next?"
Unlike the pride they had shown when they set out, both the Sand and Stone shinobi now looked anxious to get the mission over with. After encountering Moryo, the arrogance had been replaced with a grim sense of urgency.
The Priestess pointed toward a tunnel that led into the mountain. "We lure Moryo into the cave and seal his physical form here."
The Iwagakure Execution Squad Captain frowned. "Just his physical form?"
The Priestess nodded gently. "Yes. Just the physical shell."
The Captain asked the question that was on everyone's mind. "Why only that?"
"Moryo is far too powerful. His chakra is incredibly corrosive. If we try to seal his entire being, he will break the seal within a few years. That's why we must separate his soul and body, sealing them apart to ensure absolute safety."
"Then please begin preparing right away," Kakashi said, glancing off into the distance. "I have a bad feeling. We may not have much time."
Hyuga Kagami stepped forward. "Leave the external defense to yourselves. I will handle the final sealing."
Everyone was stunned.
Sealing Moryo inside Sealed Demon Mountain was by far the most dangerous part of the mission. Even Kakashi and Guy from the same village looked at Kagami with concern, unsure why he would volunteer for such a dangerous task.
Yakura asked in a cold tone, "What do you mean by that?"
Hyuga Kagami calmly replied, "I mean exactly what I said. When Moryo arrives, you don't need to stop him. Just hold back the puppets he controls. Leave the rest to me."
The Iwagakure Captain scoffed. "Just a kid like you? I don't trust this."
Though he didn't want to fight Moryo himself, the captain couldn't bring himself to trust the fate of the mission to someone so young.
Shisui stepped forward and bowed. "I will accompany him. Please trust us. We won't fail."
Hyuga Kagami glanced at Shisui. "Thank you."
Shisui simply smiled warmly.
Yakura said coldly, "If you fail, Konoha will bear all the consequences."
In her mind, if Kagami and Shisui still dared to act so confidently after witnessing Moryo's might, it meant they must have something up their sleeves.
Kakashi hesitated but ultimately remained silent.
Seeing both Kakashi and Yakura nod their approval, the Iwagakure Captain gritted his teeth and reluctantly agreed.
With the plan settled, everyone got to work setting up.
Kagami pulled Guy aside and whispered, "Once we enter the mountain, only let Moryo in. No one else—not even you or Kakashi—should follow us. Understand?"
Guy looked confused. "Why not?"
"I'll explain later. For now, just remember what I said."
Guy protested, "But what if something happens to you two? Are we just supposed to stand around and do nothing?"
Kagami answered calmly, "If Shisui and I can't handle it, you coming in would only mean more death."
"Kagami, you have to trust your comrades! Even if I can't help, Kakashi is strong! He might have a way to assist you!"
"It's because I trust you that I'm leaving you this responsibility. Do you think holding off those puppets will be easy?" Kagami smiled slightly, then turned serious. "Remember what I said. If necessary, use the Eight Gates technique."
Seeing how serious Kagami was, Guy finally nodded. "Alright, I promise."
With Guy's promise, Hyuga Kagami, Shisui, and the Priestess entered the mountain.
Inside the dark cavern, Kagami asked, "How long will it take to prepare the sealing?"
The Priestess answered quickly, "The setup won't take long, but activating the seal will require at least fifteen minutes... maybe even more."
Kagami frowned. "So we need to restrain Moryo for at least fifteen minutes?"
The Priestess nodded gravely.
She herself wasn't confident Kagami and Shisui could manage it, and she had mentally prepared to die with Moryo if needed. Her only regret was leaving her daughter, Shion, behind.
Shisui clenched his fists. "Senpai, I'll hold him off for fifteen minutes."
Kagami shook his head. "You're not even twelve. Using your eye techniques too much will harm your body."
Shisui's strength lay mostly in his ocular powers. Physically, he was only slightly above average for an Uchiha his age. His chakra reserves barely matched those of a regular jonin, and he hadn't reached his peak yet.
"But..."
Before Shisui could continue, Kagami cut him off. "I already have a plan. You just focus on the initial suppression. Leave the rest to me."
The Priestess then spoke up. "I might be able to buy some time."
Kagami asked, "How?"
The Priestess hesitated, then sighed. "There is a connection between Moryo and the Priestesses of the Land of Demons. If I must be honest... he is a part of me."
Shisui's eyes widened. "What!?"
Kagami, however, wasn't surprised. While he couldn't remember all the details, he vaguely recalled that there was a deep connection between the Priestess lineage and Moryo. Otherwise, the creature wouldn't have chased her all the way from the Land of Demons to the Land of Marsh.
After revealing this secret, the Priestess seemed to relax a little. She then knelt before Kagami and Shisui.
"I am deeply ashamed of all this."
