Otherworld, Gran Bahamaar
Originally, Yecheng was supposed to be swallowed by the Kōtotsu while trapped in the "Dangai", but at the very last moment, the so-called dimensional travel system finally finished loading and activated.
And the moment it did, Yecheng's body was shattered into icy fragments by the Kōtotsu.
Since a Shinigami's body is composed entirely of spiritual particles (reishi), a portion of that reishi descended into this so-called other world — Gran Bahamaar.
Because Yecheng had originally been a Shinigami, and his body was made of reishi, his arrival in this world wasn't just a simple transfer or reincarnation. His bones and flesh were completely reformed in this world, allowing him to appear as a native inhabitant.
"I am the god of this world. As a transferred individual arriving here, I can grant you one ability to help you survive in this harsh world."
The first voice Yecheng heard upon arrival wasn't from the system, but from a so-called "god of another world."
Though he didn't understand why this "god" was speaking his previous life's language, he was just glad he could understand it.
Thinking, Only a fool turns down a freebie, he didn't hesitate. A cheat ability being handed over? No reason to refuse. So, he voiced his desire:
"I want the strongest power in this world! An overwhelming strength that lets me defeat anyone I face!"
Asking what cheat he wanted felt no different from making a wish. So naturally, he wasn't going to hold back.
God of Another World: "…"
After hearing Yecheng's demand, the so-called god of another world clearly froze up. From the way it spoke, it seemed more like a guide or tutorial system — and Yecheng's wish had clearly exceeded its permissions.
Invincible strength? Beating gods, demon lords, dragon kings? That would ruin the entire balance of this world.
Realizing his wish might've been too much — enough to make even a god stall — Yecheng decided to compromise:
"Since this is a fantasy world with swords and magic, there must be mana and spells, right? Then I want a body with immense mana and immunity to magic. That should be doable, yeah?"
After hearing this new request, the god was clearly speechless. If it weren't just a glorified tutorial system, it might have slapped him already.
This human in front of it was just too greedy!
"Those are two separate abilities: immense mana and magic immunity. I can only grant you one."
Faced with this stingy god, Yecheng hesitated for a moment before choosing Magic Immunity.
It wasn't a random choice. He had thought it through — having vast mana didn't guarantee talent in magic. It was like owning a sports car without knowing how to drive.
But Magic Immunity was different. With that ability, he'd basically become a natural counter to all magic users.
As for mana, according to the system that transferred him, his own reiatsu would gradually adapt and convert into this world's energy system.
Worst case scenario, even if his magical talent sucked, his sword skills and the newly gained Magic Immunity would give him solid self-defense — if not make him unbeatable, at least hard to take down.
After granting Yecheng his cheat for survival, the so-called "god of another world" vanished.
Leaving Yecheng dumbfounded. He had wanted to ask about the world itself, but this so-called guiding god just peaced out — what a slacker.
Yecheng found himself in a forest. He knew nothing about this world.
The system he brought along only seemed to have the function of dimensional transfer, but during activation, his body had been struck by the Kōtotsu…
That caused his spiritual particles to scatter across various worlds, and the part that landed here became him.
Nothing to do but move forward. He needed to gather basic intel about this new world, and that meant interacting with others — preferably intelligent beings.
But after wandering around the forest for two full days, Yecheng had slain all sorts of magical beasts — and hadn't seen a single human, or even a remotely intelligent creature.
"Even without a map, there's no way I wouldn't eventually leave the forest if I just keep walking straight!"
To be fair, the forest wasn't that large. The only reason he hadn't left it in two days… was his terrible sense of direction.
As everyone knows, master swordsmen often have this flaw. And while Yecheng wasn't as bad as a certain three-sword-style swordsman who ran in circles, his navigation skills were definitely lacking.
"Are you robbers? I can give you money, just let me go!"
"What's this half-beastman saying? Trying to bribe us with scraps of paper?"
"Half-beastmen are this smart now? Begging for mercy? He might be a rare breed."
"If we sell him to the guild, I bet we could make a fortune."
After two whole days of wandering, Yecheng finally heard human voices — he was ecstatic.
Following the source of the sound, he stealthily crept closer and saw several men in what looked like a standoff.
More precisely, it was a one-sided beating. Three men dressed like adventurers were ganging up on another man who seemed to be human.
The man being beaten curled up with his hands over his head, pleading for mercy, insisting he was human. But the other three clearly didn't believe him.
In a world where good looks were standard, the beaten man's appearance wasn't just plain — it could only be described as odd.
So even though he could speak, the adventurers just assumed he was a rare half-beastman — one that could talk.
And in this world, beastmen weren't rare, but intelligent, talking beastmen were. A rare specimen like that could fetch a high price in the market.
